This restaurant has a massive attitude problem. Particularly with the short brunette bartender. The nasty and rude behavior I experienced on Saturday (2/28) was completely uncalled for. We waited 10 minutes at the bar before we were finally asked what drinks we wanted. All for this lady to be nasty toward us the entire night. We wanted a refill on water, we had to ask. We wanted another cocktail, we had to ask. This is not how you work with customers. She should be removed. Finally, we are FETCH shoppers and asked for an itemized receipt and the bartender had a few feelings about it. The entire reason we went there was to get the FETCH points and she was not happy about that request. The manager also failed to get an actual itemized receipt it was missing key information for the FETCH app redeem. Not worth a visit. read more

We had a fantastic dining experience at Hacienda de Mesilla. The food/drinks and service were stellar. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. My husband had the green chile enchiladas with black beans and Mexican corn casserole and I had the Torizo rolled tacos. The chef did an excellent job with her rendition of tofu "chorizo". The dishes were made with fresh, quality ingredients. Glad we saved room for the egg nog cake. Jessica, our server, was so nice and knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks. Being there by myself for only one night and arriving in the late evening, I checked Yelp for a good Mexican restaurant in Las Cruces, and the information on Yelp indicated high ratings and open until 10PM. So I hopped in my rental car and sped off to the restaurant and arrived at 9:25 PM only to see the restaurant door closing and the red-haired lady telling me in a not so nice way WE ARE CLOSED. With that kind of attitude and closing ealry on a Saturday night no less, I'll never visit that restaurant again. And because I went there instead another place nearer to my hotel, I was SOL to find another good Mexican restaurant open in town that night. Boo Hoo and shame on you Hacienda del Mesilla! read more

For such a beautiful location and well-decorated restaurant, we were so disappointed with both the food and service. Our server was so rushed and pushy. He upsold us margaritas that honestly weren't that great. He also disappeared on us multiple times. Eventually we had to get up to chase someone to come and help us. The food was really underwhelming. We ordered the queso fundido appetizer and the salmon, enchiladas, and chicken fettuccine. The salmon came cold!! The chicken, while tasty was very dry, and the fettuccine was so tasteless and bland. The enchiladas were the worst!! We couldn't even eat them! So bitter! Not sure what was going on! Great look to the place on the out side. Kind of a maze in the inside but adds character. Great service. Now the important part is I had the baseball steak with the mashed potatoes and broccolini. And a side of a crab cake and a house margarita. Margarita wasn't very good at all way too bitter. Maybe a new bartender? The steak was cooked medium not medium rare, still flavorful and tender. That was a good meal in itself. Then I tried the crab cake, poured mush and had no color like grey kinda scared to eat haha. The Brussel medley was good we will see if the cake stays down. Hotel is cute old school rooms at a reasonable price. We would stay there again. Good location. My only suggestion is to check in advance when/if they will heat the pool if you want to swim. It was unheated the end of February and way too cold to swim at all. This could be a disappointment to families expecting to swim, so check in advance. read more

We ducked in here during April 2024 for lunch - immediately we were impressed with the decor and service here. I had the Blue Corn Blue Crab Enchiladas - which come with a side of jazzed up beans, tricked out corn, and some sort of slaw. Every bite of every item was simply superb. The enchiladas were the highlight, yet the sides were incredibly delicious, as well. I could've had each one as just a huge main. A big pot of beans is never a bad thing - well, maybe not in the moment. I could taste the blue corn tortillas that made up each enchilada - when you are in New Mexico - blue corn is a must. The flavor blended perfectly somehow with the seafood - big chunks of crab meat and shrimp blended with cheese and an amazing sauce. I couldn't get over how damned tasty they were - I have never had anything like them. Come hungry and try to slow down and relish every bite. It will be difficult, but you can manage. read more

My granddaughter was never offered a refill on her soda. She got the Philly sliders that were drown in gooey cheese--I really don't know how you would eat them. Waitress never checked on us. What a beautiful restaurant. We ate in a side room that 3 gigantic windows overlooking the courtyard. Very pretty. 5 of us for dinner. Fantastic service from our waiter, who was attentive without being invasive. I forgot his name, but he got everything out perfectly. Dinners - I had the blue crab blue tortillas enchiladas. Green chili sauce was spicy, but I'm wimpy and like flavor not heat. Once I moved the sauce to the side, it was delicious! Other meals were the truffle fettuccine, pork chop, shrimp tacos and the blue enchiladas. Everyone was pleased with their choice, and we said we would absolutely return. I found this place on Yelp, it looked awesome. Then I pulled up to it and walked in and...my first impression was...not good. It reminded me of a restaurant in a Disney resort. Depending on who you are, this could be positive or negative. For me, it was the latter. However, the food, the service, and the prices were not at all like a Disney resort eatery, and that's a very good thing! This place has tons of original dishes, many based on, inspired by, or authentically New Mexican. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And to top it all off, they have NM beer on tap as well. This is one of those places where you can choose between multiple areas to dine in. Nice restaurant with an excellent meal served in a lovely space with professional and caring waitstaff. But.....The inn above needs some work. It was pleasant and clean but that bed. It had a deep V in it from very heavy people crushing the springs. I did not sleep well. And next door to me someone was violently sick, for hours. The sound carried right through the walls. Calamari appetizer with capers, peppers, lemon, and onions was tasty, perfectly cooked and not at all rubbery. HUGE serving too. Steak cooked rare as to my liking and delicious. I am a local and have enjoyed delicious food at this restaurant so I was very surprised when we brought out of town guests to this restaurant and the food was subpar. The seafood salad that cost $24 included 2 shrimp, that's it. The Queso Fundido came with 1/2 the chips needed to complete it. The Chicken Alfredo included a small, over-cooked chicken breast on top of a small pile of noodles. My teenage son, who eats everything, didn't even finish. It was also freezing in the bar area, we could barely relax to eat. Unfortunately, we won't be back for awhile. We stopped in the cute town of Mesilla and decided to give this place a try. I had the cream of Jalapeño soup, happy hour margaritas, (11am to 5 pm) and shrimp bites. All very good! My spouse had the steak arricherra ;it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The only suggestion I would make is maybe have a small dipping sauce with the shrimp bites like a spicy remoulade.
