My husband and I were really excited to try this restaurant after hearing so many great reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to our expectations. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with fried chicken. The chicken was cooked well, but the Alfredo sauce tasted like it was store-bought rather than homemade. I also added the potato and sausage soup for an extra $1.99, and it reminded me of a less flavorful version of Olive Garden's soup. Considering the prices on the menu, I was surprised that soup or salad wasn't included with the meal. My husband ordered the steak, and it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We also really enjoyed the garlic olive oil with bread and the spinach and artichoke dip--both were definite highlights of the meal. One thing that caught us off guard was the drinks. We each ordered a soda, but instead of receiving fountain drinks, we were each given individual bottles. I'm not sure if they don't have a soda fountain or if it's their way of serving soft drinks, but it felt a little unusual, especially given the higher prices. Overall, the food was a mix of hits and misses. While the steak, appetizers, and bread were excellent, the pasta and soup left us disappointed. We may come back for the steak and appetizers, but probably not for the Italian dishes we originally came to try. read more

Everything was pretty regrettable in terms of food. We went in with low expectations and were still disappointed. We ordered their special where you have some of 3 different meals, pizza , fried zucchini , and something else I can't remember. I just remember all the items were not too great. Service was good. Stopped in while passing through Deming. It's a charming little place attached to the Days Inn. It definitely has a "family restaurant" feel to it, which makes it extra enjoyable for us. Great selection on the menu. I opted for a bowl of the Cream of Potato and Sausage soup, which was excellent. The sausage had a little bit of kick, but just enough to keep it interesting. I opted for traditional spaghetti and meatballs for my entree. I added the side salad for $1.99. The salad was definitely a side salad but worth the extra $2. There were a few brown leaves of lettuce in there, but nothing to complain about. The bread brought to the table was excellent and I always enjoy a little oil and garlic to go with the table bread. The meatballs were large and excellent, and the accompanying meat sauce was also excellent. Spaghetti portion was big enough that I didn't finish it all. Beer selection is a little limited, I opted for Dos Equis. I believe all the beer comes in bottles, as does the pop. I'd definitely stop back in here again when in the area. read more

Deming, New Mexico No a lot of restaurants to choose from in this town unless you want Mexican. This place is recommended by my hotel so here we are. The location was a bit confusing, as it is part of a hotel or it is at least attached to the hotel. The restaurant is red and white inside with five booths lining the wall. It is a very small restaurant with about eight tables in addition to the booths. The chairs have black fabric covers. Came here on a Tuesday night at 7:30 and it was packed when we walked in. They told us to grab a seat wherever we wanted. The prices are very reasonable. They have everything from sandwiches, to pizza, to pasta dishes. For $1.99 you can add a soup or salad to your pasta dish. Their ranch dressing is homemade and absolutely delicious. I ordered the spaghetti with marinara. Boring I know. They bring you a delicious bread in the basket that is very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They give you packets of butter as well as minced garlic on a plate with olive oil and seasoning. My husband ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. Both of the pasta dishes were delicious and plentiful. The red sauce was very thick and had a bit of spice to it. Much like a cayenne pepper taste. The meatballs had great flavor. And they were quite large. They do not have any Parmesan cheese, other than one that sits on the table. The salad was fresh. The lettuce was very green and all the vegetables were crisp. They close at 8 PM and we showed up at 7:30. They never rushed us and people continue to walk in and eat after we showed up. Love that kindness. I love pie and couldn't resist one to take home when she told me it was made from scratch daily. I chose the blueberry pie. At five dollars a slice I could not go wrong. However, this was not my favorite. The blueberry pie head too much of a lemon flavor in the filling. The crust was thick on top and thin on the bottom. The crust was not flaky and had no flavor. Overall, I was very impressed with this restaurant. The owner actually walked around to the tables to see how people were enjoying their meal. She was very kind. Our waitress was visible and kind. I would definitely go back to this place if I were in town. I would give it 4.7 stars. read more

We stopped overnight in Deming before heading off to Phoenix. It's a small town so we weren't sure what our options would be for dinner. We found Marie's and had a wonderful evening. The ambience was great, the decor was pretty, the service was friendly, and the food was delicious. I ordered spaghetti and marinara sauce and my husband ordered penne and sausage. We even ordered dessert. I had lemon cake and he had a cannoli. I was torn between pasta and a salad, so I decided to come back the next day for takeout salad. I am looking forward to lunchtime already! I highly recommend Marie's. read more

Marie and her Restuarant have been a special part of my life for years. This is NOT the first birthday I have celebrated at Marie's. I used to order so frequently that they knew my voice on the phone when I called. Marie's is delicious!!! I love the Chicken Marsala with a baked potato. My eating companions enjoyed ribeye, spaghetti and meatball, green chili cheeseburger, as well as fettuccine Alfredo. Five of us had a wonderful meal including delicious bread to start, and beverages for $100. The new location is cozy and has a great ambiance! I highly recommend Marie's! read more

I had the Green Chili Chicken Alfredo Lasagna and my stomach turned when I first looked at it. And after a few bites I couldn't eat any more it was so disgusting. I think the ground up pieces of what was supposed to be chicken were tasteless and looked like it came out of a can. Our waitress didn't charge for the dish without us even asking so that's a big positive. However, I'm writing this 8 hours later having been awakened by my intestinal tract roiling and in pain. my problem is the price gouging on the wine, $14 wine bottle marked up to $40 on the menu, that's a bit excessive. truthfully it isn't fine wine, but they're selling it like it is, food is mid. WOW. Extremely overpriced. Our 16 ounce ribeye was $42 with no sides, that's outrageous. And it was 10oz of fat. The rest was water. Just traveling through Deming and ordered delivery from Marie's Kitchen It was absolutely delicious we ordered the pork chops meal with baked potato and cup if there potato soup it was perfect soup excellent with just a hint of spice the pork chop cooked perfect the baked potato perfect. I haven't tried anything else but that meal was excellent one of the best "home style" food we have had so far on this trip across america. I was leaving Deming and decided to eat at one of the local restaurants. The food was great. Maries is a great place to eat at.

I had the spaghetti and Italian sausage which was delicious and I've had better cannoli, but I can't remember when. Highly recommend on my previous trips to Deming I completely missed going here. I used to like this place Not anymore. Prices are to High! I spent $80 for 2 pasta plates the Slice Cake was $10 for a SMALL slice, ridiculous. The bread is Small the soup Is Not WORTH $10. I also ordered mozzarella sticks (8) for $10 they were Dry and Not worth it! Everything on the menu is over $10 it's Ridiculous I had to cancel an Extra Cake cause my total was $80 took the extra cake off to bring down the total still was $72 dollars!! This place is awesome! When you walk in the door, you are greeted and seated quickly. They take your drink order before walking away and then return with it promptly. My order was taken and the appetizer was brought out along with fresh bread and a garlic and oil spread. My entree, chicken parmesan, was excellent! We were staying at a run down hotel (bad choice on our part) and nearby was a kind of shabby looking Italian restaurant. The inside was nicely done in Italian colors and reminded us of old time Italian restaurants, but updated and bright. We were hoping for pizza after a long day of driving, but instead found standard Italian fare plus some sandwiches. Dinner started out with hot bread and a plate of oil and seasoning. It was very good! Next I went adventurous and my wife went Italian. I had the Philly Cheese Steak. It was very good. The meat was seasoned and plentiful, the not too much cheese, and good jalapeños and peppers. The combination was delicious and not too greasy. My wife had the lasagna. It was a large piece of lasagna with good height (not flat!) probably 1.5 inches. It was cheesy. My wife could only eat half. With the meal we both ordered the side salad with blue cheese salad dressing. The dressing looked homemade and was creamy. The salad was ok, but nothing to write home about. Service was professional and attentive. So if you find yourself in Deming NM I would put this on the top of the local eateries ( not much competition in Deming! LOL). Give it a try! read more
