Loretta's Pizza is out of the way but fortunately my boyfriend lives in the Throgs Neck area and decided to give this place a try. We ordered a white cheese slice, BBQ slice, pepperoni wheel and a side of meatballs covered delicious sauce. The prices are Manhattan prices but you're getting a HUGE amazingly good slice of pizza. They really load up the slice with they toppings and ingredients to create a meal in one slice of pizza. Seriously unless you walk in after a marathon or have a huge appetite one slice is more than enough. Not complaining though! The pepperoni wheel was new to me and a nice treat and even better with the sauce that came with the meatballs. My boyfriend finished his BBQ slice in no time and looked mighty content. I typically judge a pizzeria by how it can make a specialty slice, and I very much enjoyed Loretta's pizza eggplant slices and spinach slices. I like how Loretta's tries something new by adding tomatoes to their spinach slice, and their eggplant slice is second only to Rosa's pizza in faraway Huntington, NY. We ordered takeout for a lot of different people and they even wrote the contents on each pizza box which was a nice bonus. Quick and good service. I would definitely go again. read more

OMG!!!! I just had their shrimp parmigiana with spaghetti dinner and I just wanna say that was the most amazing meal I've had in a long time. Thank you to the creator of my meal, it was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. The exterior may make you wanna try some place else but do yourself a favor, find a place to park and go inside. The interior is very clean (including the restroom) and nicely maintained for a simple pizza parlor. First time eating here and I'm so happy I stopped. Another solid Bronx pizza shop, looks from the outside that its been around for a long time, the interior is remodeled which is okay, I tend to prefer vintage places, but still the pizza here is solid, while the shop is small its comfortable and the people working here are friendly. This review is for a delivery order I placed at Grub Hub. Based on the reviews my husband and I were really excited to try this place out. I placed my order at 7:40 and didn't get my order until 9pm. Not sure why it takes that long to deliver a slice, a chicken parm sandwich, chicken fingers, garlic bread, and mozzarella sticks. When I get my order I'm told by the driver that the second part of my order is on its way. I placed ONE order. Apparently they forgot my pizza. Which I didn't receive until 9:30 pm. Guys this place is less than 2 miles away and there was no traffic at this time. I decided to call to see what happened and the manager, Robert, wouldn't even let me get a word in. He began talking over me, raising his voice, completely ignoring me and what I had to say. At this point I was livid. Because not only did I have to wait 2 hours for my food but it was also incomplete, COLD - what a surprise, and the manager actually yelled at me over the phone and went on and on about how upset HE was. Seriously?? What terrible customer service. I have never in my life experienced such horrible service. I will say that the slice was free, albeit I had to pop it (and the rest of my food) in the oven because it was cold as hell. Needless to say I will NEVER order from here again no matter how good the food was. It really saddens me to see places serve good food and have THE WORST customer service ever. Note to manager: next time, hear out your customer, let them vent, and then apologize instead of being rude over a mistake YOU guys made. That would have made a world of a difference. read more

I was out visiting from California and my cousin suggested pizza and I was a little surprised. Usually, he takes me to some really great, unusual and fun places and I thought "pizza"? But after going, it was another excellent find by him. The pizza was excellent! We had the meat lovers and the eggplant. I preferred the eggplant with ricotta cheese. Yum. The meat lovers had bacon which made it a little salty but rather unusual. Other's in the group preferred it. The service was exceptional and the place was very busy with take outs. You order at the counter but they came to our table and wrapped our leftovers for us. The only bummer was they don't serve alcohol but we did pick some up from the market down the block. The pizza was on point - and I'm a Brooklyn boy whose picky about his pizza (plain slice): The cheese: the cheese is good, fresh, and flavorful The sauce: the sauce leaning towards the tangier side. I like a sweeter sauce...but this sauce wasn't so tangy that I didn't like it The crust: the texture of the crust is incredible. I've never said that before...but they nailed it. The crust is thin, I think Durum semolina dusted on the bottom, and it's perfectly crisp. If there was ANY criticism at all it would be that there could be just a little more flavor in it.
