King Buffet opened in 2023 in a space formerly occupied by Golden Corral. It's pleasantly renovated and as clean as an establishment can be for a buffet concept. There are all the classics here and a few nice extras, like crab. The seafood at King Buffet is plentiful, but to be fair, not particularly good. The crawfish are somehow extremely tasteless, not because they are not spiced, but they just don't taste like crawfish. That's something I've never encountered before. The coconut shrimp is subpar. Mongolian beef is very loosely reminiscent of beef. With that said, all the dishes are not bad either, they are just not great. Where King Buffet shines is the service, with extremely attentive wait staff and superb cleanliness that results from that. As a whole, it does justice to this category of food and there is absolutely no reason to pass by if craving a buffet style meal.

I typically ask for no peppers; they said the onions and peppers are grilled together, but they're well cooked. There honestly weren't a lot (or cooked so small/soft I didn't notice much), so that was fine by me. It was also bigger than it looked, so I was able to take home half of it to enjoy for dinner that night. (It reheated well, btw.) Loved the artwork on the walls. I think that artist has done a few in the area, and I think they said they kept some of the images from the previous ideation of the space. They do have music on, and so if you're dining in, maybe have someone stay near the front until the food's ready. It was a little hard to hear since the counter was around the corner, and I noticed the couple at the next table must have not heard their name being called. Next time, I will likely look at ordering some of their wings; they seemed to offer a variety. They'll also be offering Soul Food Sundays, with a menu that will have you remembering your grandmother's Sunday meals.
