Lory's Denim and Leather Clinic saved two leather jackets of mine that had been cut during a move with a box cutter. They were able to patch one and expertly match/add a panel on the other and I'm thrilled with the speed and quality of the repair.

Phenomenal tailor! I brought two very special designer jackets (leather and suede) to have some work done on the sleeves and it was done perfectly. Additionally brought a pair of jeans and slacks for an overall fitting and all looks amazing. Pricing is very fair and the turn around time was quite fast. I highly recommend and will continue to go here!

I can't recommend Lory highly enough. She tailored my grandfather's leather jacket to fit me perfectly, and that alone would be impressive. What makes this experience truly special is how she did it. This jacket belonged to my grandfather, who has passed away, so it was not just another garment to me. Lory immediately understood the sentimental value and treated the piece with genuine care and respect. She preserved the original character of the jacket while tailoring it cleanly to my body. Nothing feels overworked, stiff, or modernized in a bad way. It looks exactly how it should, just like it was always meant to fit me. The fit is flawless. The shoulders, sleeves, length, and overall silhouette are spot on. The leather still drapes beautifully, and the jacket feels alive rather than altered. If you are looking for someone who truly understands leather, craftsmanship, and the emotional value clothing can carry, Lory is the person to trust. I will be including before and after photos because the transformation speaks for itself. This is heirloom level work. Thank you, Lory. I will cherish this jacket forever.

I found Lory's right here, through Yelp. I had an heirloom leather jacket that I wanted to get re-lined, and I wanted to find someone who specialized in leather repair. When I brought the jacket in, Lory herself looked it over. I explained that I wanted new lining put in, the old patches from the original lining moved over to the new lining, some new patches added, and if it was possible, to have the leather along the cuffs and collar repaired as much as possible. I had seen some images on Yelp where she had sewed back together tearing leather, and thought that might be possible on theses areas. Lory mentioned that the waist area could use new elastic. She agreed that it would be a big project, and would cost $480. The price was high, but this was supposed to be a college graduation gift for my brother, so I agreed. When I started pointing out specific issues, Lory said "Don't worry, I know exactly what to do." I felt confident in her abilities after reading so many glowing Yelp reviews. I actually mentioned that I had found her via Yelp, and she said something along the lines of "yes we have a lot of good reviews, except for one, but that one is fake." A few days later, she sent me a few images of the jacket on one of her assistants. It looked much darker than I remembered when dropping it off, but the cuffs looked clean, and I figured she had oiled the leather. From a distance, in these photos, it seemed to be coming along. When I came to pick up the jacket, an assistant brought it out. As soon as I saw the jacket up close, I was shocked. The leather hadn't been oiled - it looked like it had been PAINTED. Some type of yellow/brown varnish applied that made the jacket feel like plastic. I felt panicky, but Lory wasn't there to talk with. I didn't really know what to do, so I paid the remaining deposit so I could leave with the jacket, and left. Once I got home, I laid the jacket out on the table so I could really take a good look at it. The paint had been really carelessly applied. In multiple areas there are visible drip marks on the leather. On the front chest of the left side there's an area where the substance clearly stuck together, and was pulled apart. The varnish also coated some of the brass buttons, and stained an area of the lining inside. There were also evident brush strokes down one of the arms, where a different, darker color, had been used. The overall feel of the jacket is now sticky, shiny, vinyl. The jacket I had brought in had been very worn, but it was soft and matte. The cuffs, collar, and waistband had all been replaced with a new material completely. So the original pieces are gone. I'm not sure if the material is real leather or not, but it doesn't at all match the original leather in color or texture. After letting myself think for a day, I found Lory's business page on Facebook, and messaged her letting her know that I was unhappy with the results of the jacket. I sent images I had take of the jacket, and noted all my issues. Simply, I asked for a refund. At first she was very quick with her responses. She told me that her assistant had been the one to paint the jacket, due to there being so many areas of the jacket that were "destroyed," and that she would personally remove the paint and re-paint herself. I thanked her for her quick response and her offer, but I really just wanted to be refunded and start figuring out how I was going to make it up to my brother. I don't feel that any amount of re-working will bring back the original charm of the jacket. Lory then asked me if I wanted ALL my money back? Because they had put a lot of time and work into the jacket. Then she offered me a 50% refund. If this had been a less expensive project, I would have taken the 50% refund and moved on. But I feel like I paid $480 for a jacket that is now completely altered for the worse. Even paying $240 felt wrong - that's more than a brand new leather jacket costs. When I stayed firm that I wasn't happy with the jacket and would like a refund, Lory stopped responding. I followed up a few days later, and she told me that she was speaking with a lawyer. Still, I waited to hear back from her. When I followed up again she said "My lawyer said than I don't have to deal with you. I send him all the pictures, conversations text we had. He said,go to the court." And that's where I'm at right now. I found a similar vintage jacket on eBay, and I've just taken the two jackets to Milt & Eddie's (where I wish I had take it in the first place - I've never been let down by their tailors!) to have the patches from the ruined jacket moved into this new jacket. I wanted to share my experience on Yelp, so that someone else could avoid taking something special here and having it ruined.

Before: A hole was getting bigger

I love the solution Lory proposed. It was executed beautifully. I bought this jacket from Brazil and I have worn it for many different occasions. I really love it. I can't express how happy I am for the final result. Fair price and quick turnaround. 100% recommended!

Lory did an amazing job repairing the buttons on my vintage leather jacket from the 1980's! The coat was gifted to me by my dad, and it's one of my favorite jackets. Highly recommend Lory's for anything you need one!

Lory completely revived my absolute favorite vintage designer bag who was looking worse for wear with torn seams and stains. She cleaned and repaired the bag, and I couldn't be happier with the work and will definitely be back for any future repairs!

    after

Lory thanks so much for customizing my new leather jacket to my specifications. About a month ago I brought in a new leather jacket that was 3x large and needed it to fit me as large only. Knowing this would be a difficult task to complete and almost impossible to find the right type of person to get this work done, still, I really liked the jacket a lot and was willing to go the extra mile in getting to fit my body size. I looked online to see which tailor had the best reviews but none where around my area so i had to look further. This is when i came across Lorys business and started reading all the great things about this lady's work. I then decided to stop in and meet this great professional and explain that I was coming all the way from south bay to meet her. As soon as you meet lory, you can tell she will get straight to business and start helping in questions and needs. We decided on what measurements and cuts needed to be in place and etc. It was until a couple weeks later that I need to come in again to try measurements again to see for me and herself how the process was coming along. That told me there that lory was a perfectionist and wanted to get the measurements perfectly right. This makes me feel confident in knowing that the work being done on my jacket is being done with extreme care and thought and I really appreciate that trait because a lot of people are not that way. So, its good to know that you are working with and expert in this field. Lory brain is something else because she can see the small details when others cannot. She knows how to work her craft and not just saying that but her works shows it off and her actions do the talking. My friend came with me and thought the jacket looked like i just bought it not knowing that it was worked on. So, it nice to hear does compliments and honestly at nighttime I've been getting a lot of people looking. I cannot thank enough of this jacket you have given me Lory it's my favorite and only leather jacket I will carry on until a very long time. Since its a motorcycle type of jacket it looks even more awesome than before. Thanks again lory and hope you keep on making people happy. I am for one very happy so that amount of time and money to send it to you was worth every bit of it that what counts for me.

While he did a good job, each skirt was $60 to shorten each skirt a few inches, AND it was done by machine. Both he and Heather were very nice, but I thought at the time that was excessive. I didn't do my research and check other alternatives in the area. $60 to shorten each a couple of inches on the machine, maybe 15 minutes maximum....(1 picture of hem from the underside, it's going vertical 4 some reason, the other one what u can see from the outside, going horizontal....) The machine did do a good job, but $120 for 2 skirts on a machine is excessive.... So after I read Neewin's response, I brought in another garment to hem and get taken in. He couldn't have bn more cordial about it, and, surprised me by having it ready the very next day, instead of 5 days later. Good business. I will definitely be bringing my alterations back to him.

They repeatedly reassured me that they could and that there would be no issue. Based on those assurances, I trusted them with my dress. Unfortunately, they cut the dress crooked. I didn't notice until I wore it to my event, so I ended up wearing my dress crooked because of their alteration. I went back the very next day to show them the issue and ask for a refund. They told me they would fix the dress and that when I came back to pick it up, they would also give me a refund. When I returned, the dress was STILL crooked and had not been properly fixed. They also refused to give me the refund I was promised. What made the situation even more frustrating was that when I questioned why the dress was crooked, they started saying it was because of the dress itself. If they knew the design of the dress made it difficult to alter, they should have told me that BEFORE altering it. Instead, I asked them multiple times if they could do it, and they reassured me that they could. At that point, I asked them to compensate me for the price of the dress because their alteration had damaged it to the point where I could no longer wear it. I went back and forth with them countless times for over a week trying to get a resolution. I spoke with Joshua, one of the managers. Mario was the person who performed the alteration, but I did not personally speak with him. According to their "store policy," if they paid me the full price of the dress, they would get to keep the dress. I found this policy completely unreasonable, especially when the damage was caused during their alteration. I told them they needed to do something to make this right because I should not have to lose both my dress and my money because of an alteration they assured me they could do. In the end, they only paid me 60% of the price of my dress and returned the dress to me. After going through all of this, I was extremely disappointed with how they handled the situation. I had no problems with Steamers Cleaners before this, but their customer service throughout this entire situation was HORRIBLE. The biggest issue for me was not just that the alteration went wrong, but that they initially reassured me they could do the alteration, then blamed the dress when something went wrong, and made me fight for over a week to get any kind of resolution. Their promises mean very little once something goes wrong, and unfortunately, I learned that the hard way.
