I remember going to Los Agaves in Santa Barbara many moons ago and having my mind blown by the chorizo tacos and salsas. Fast forward to today and decide to try to convince my parents to try Los Agaves out. Mom & Dad live in Thousand Oaks and don't go out much. They have their spots and can be creatures of habit. The Mexican restaurant they like is not good in my opinion and when they tried Red O it was a bad experience. I told them I was buying so we all squeezed into the car and traveled to Agoura Hills. You order at the register and then they bring your food and booze out. Guacamole and salsas are phenomenal. I didn't see chorizo tacos, so opted for a chimichanga which was perfect. Everyone was mega pleased with their meals and loved sitting outside where it is a little more quiet. Successful outing and I'm sure my parents will want to come here again...especially if I'm buying lol

We didn't realize you had to order at the register inside before hand because they sat us outside and handed us menus. Interesting, none the less we ordered and I got the chicken taquitos. They were sorta of like a chicken tinga, decent portion size and they were okay. No rice or beans included, to have to order separately. They also have a self serve soda station as well. For it looking like a somewhat nice restaurant , the self serving factor is just strange. No one comes to check on you or anything either you basically have to ask for all your needs at the small ordering counter. Don't think I'll be returning.

I ordered from DoorDash and these enchiladas arrived beautifully intact, you can tell the care that the restaurant puts into presentation to match flavor. I always get enchiladas suizas when I see them on a menu but I saw that the guadalajara enchiladas came with shredded chicken and salsa verde and went for it, absolutely no regrets. Look forward to trying the restaurant in person. At around $20 this is super well-priced for a good portion!

Delicious! Very fresh seafood options and I love their citrus salad on the side! The chips and different salsa options in the beginning was delicious too. The restaurant is clean and pretty. Easy parking. Pretty big portion sizes.

I was super disappointed. Don't get me wrong the food itself was good but the service was so badddd. this is super sad due to the fact that you barely interact with the servers since it is walk up to order and get your own drinks. The girl in the front was rude and they put us at a super small table when there was plenty of other tables around. It was clearly our first time and nothing was explained so we sat at our table and then realized 10 minutes later that you have to walk up. For being a walk up and order the food is pretty pricey. The place itself is nice and super cute. but i will not be back due to the rude service in the front and the cashiers.

Open on New Year's Day wow ! Bless them for this bc our hungover bums NEEDED THIS lol. Always great food, awesome friendly staff and I love that they have Barqs root beer :,). The vibe is great in here.. it's always packed. they have a bar and regular seating (indoor and outdoor). Yummy margaritas! The enchiladas are heavenly and they have a great amount of meat as well. 10/10.

The service here is so quick! Very polite staff, the place is very lively as every time I have gone it's been packed which is a good sign. The food is delicious one of the most authentic places you'll get for Mexican food in Thousand Oaks. We will for sure be back to try other dishes!

Hit the spot! When I arrived (and plenty of parking) I was told it was a 20.min wait. However, after maybe 10.mins I was able to grab 2 seats at the bar. I loved being able to peak into the kitchen and watch the tortillas get made! I was offered chips and 3 different dips which were yummy. I ordered a combo of the chili rilleno and hard shell chick taco and it was great. With it the traditional margarita. I look forward to trying more items!

Very different from other restaurants, you order and pay for your food at the front then they bring it out to your table. Service was good and the outside patio was nice. The chips and salsa were delicious. The green salsa was a bit too spicy for my tastes but the other two were pretty good. I ordered the Enchiladas Guadalajara. They were decent. The beans were half refried and good, as well as the rice. The sauce on the enchiladas was, for lack of a better word, zesty. Not that it was bad, just different. Overall, I would come back and recommend as a place to eat.

This was my first experience at Los Agaves. It came highly recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. It was a little odd to get your table first, then order your food up front with your table number. However odd their setup may seem though, it works. We ordered a wet burrito, with chile verde and enchiladas Guadalajara with green sauce. They brought it out to our table and everything tasted fresh, yet was delivered pretty quickly. The plating was nice for those that allow their camera to eat first. The chips and salsa they bring out when you get there was a nice surprise as well. Service was friendly, and despite not being table service they still check in on you to make sure everything was good. We would definitely eat here again. Speaking of the area, this is reasonably priced being for in Westlake. Well that's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

Are they still doing Taco Tuesday? How much are tacos now? Thank you

Just went today, Aug 22, 2023, to Westlake Village location, and the answer is *yes*! They don't seem to get the word out, but it's still on. $2.95 for any of seven different tacos: Soft - Chicken, steak, carnitas, al pastor, chorizo or rajas con…

    Is there outdoor dining?

Yes. Part of it is on the side patio. The other is in the makeshift patio created in the front of the restaurant/Parking lot

We drove by just now and they had a closed sign on the door, does anyone know if they're opening at all?

They are now open for both dine in and takeout.

Do they have a kids menu?

Not an actual kids menus but they have individual small items and great sides.

    What are happy hour days/times?

Happy Hour is from 3 pm to 6 pm weekdays

    What time is happy hour?

And in a way, that's exactly what El Sancho Cantina is: an escape. A secret. A little taste of something else. Whether you slide in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner, El Sancho is where you come to cheat on your routine. Tucked into Thousand Oaks, it's a getaway hidden in plain sight. Sit at the bar, let the cool breeze drift through, and allow the Spanish ballads to work their magic. For a moment, you'll forget where you are--and believe you've wandered into a dreamy cantina somewhere deep in Mexico. Start with the "El Viejo"--their riff on an Old Fashioned. Let the applewood smoke swirl above the glass as you lean in. The aroma hits first, then the deep flavors of añejo tequila and Mexican whiskey settle in with smooth confidence. Sip slow. This isn't a race--it's a seduction. If you're looking for something a little lighter--a healthy balance between indulgence and intention--try the two taco plate with the green salad substitution. I went for one Potato taco, one Shredded Chicken taco, and swapped out the rice and beans for a salad of mixed greens and cucumber, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette and a squeeze of fresh lime. The flavors were bright, clean, and satisfying. I walked away full--but not heavy. If I was meeting my Sancha after, I could've easily gone for a stroll. Maybe even dessert. But don't let me lead you down the wrong path--the tacos and cocktails are already all the temptation you need. And if that post-lunch lull starts to creep in, fight back with the "El Cafecito"--a soulful wake-up call of Licor 43, Kahlúa, cold brew coffee, and chocolate bitters. My personal pick over an espresso martini--bold, smooth, and unapologetically delicious. So yes, you might be cheating on SoCal for an hour with Mexico vibes, but El Sancho doesn't judge. In fact, it invites you back--with open arms, a strong pour, and just the right amount of trouble.

Yeah, this small, one-off Mexican spot has been a Westlake Village staple for 33 years! Yep, since 1993 (probably older than some of you even reading this), Sea Casa has been serving up their take on healthier, Mexican/Latin-American food which is a great alternative to the higher-end bougie spots you will find in WLV. Basics like tacos, burritos, flautas, quesadillas and even fajitas, the Sea Casa knows how to throw down a fiesta, that will definitely make you want to take a siesta! It's The Sea Casa, so you know they're bringing the Sea! Yeah, they've got grilled shrimp, grilled fish and you know I'm all about that fried tempura fish. So whether you want it in a Baja taco, a burrito, a bowl or even in a salad, the Sea Casa is now Su Casa, so please don't be shy. But you know what best part is in my humble opinion??.... The Bar!!
