Card statement showing me being overcharged later that day.

I've never left a review here before because one of the ladies who works here has always been incredibly kind and welcoming. That's honestly the main reason I've held off, despite having a couple of disappointing experiences over the years. Everyone makes mistakes, and I completely understand thatespecially when someone is new. I ordered a burrito but was accidentally given a quesadilla instead. When I pointed it out, they apologized, explained the employee was new, and made me the correct burrito, which I appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was finding out the next day that I had been charged for both the incorrect quesadilla and the burrito I originally ordered. Mistakes happen, but customers shouldn't have to pay for them, especially without being told. Looking back at my statement, I ended up spending over $72 for just two burritos and two Jamaica drinks, which is already expensive. Then finding the extra charge afterward made it feel like I was being taken advantage of as a young customer who might not notice. Whether it was intentional or not, it left a really bad impression. Unfortunately, it feels like this restaurant has been on a declining trend lately. I genuinely hope this was just an oversight and that they make it right, because I'd much rather be leaving a positive review than this one.

If you're looking for tasty Mex breakfast and lunch items this is a good one. Plenty of parking , seating areas in and out as well as take out. Portions are tasty and HUGE so consider sharing - I had an egg meat cheese combo that I couldn't possibly finish . And to make it better the service is impeccable - polite , helpful and the place squeaky clean .

    That legit chorizo grease.

First time here for breakfast but I LOVE rolled tacos so I got both. Everything was very fresh. Rolled tacos were cooked perfectly, nice crunch but the meat wasn't dried out. Fresh guacamole sauce and freshly grated cheese. Green salsa was perfect. The green salsa definitely added flavor and complimented the tacos. Red salsa was too hot for me. Both are definitely fresh. Chorizo burrito was massive. I was already full but the few bites I had were delicious. Everything definitely felt homemade and not canned. Only 1 guy working when I arrived at 9am. Later a lady came in and gave the extra service checking on me and getting me a to go container. Inside is kinda small. Just a few tables. Very clean and simple aesthetic. Outside has plenty of tables on the patio facing the street.

    Protein plate with Asada

Tried La Esquina Mexican Grill the other day and it was... okay. I ordered the protein plate, and since they serve chips and salsa when you dine in, I had to opt in (because that's basically mandatory lol). The chips and salsa were a nice touch and a good start. The service was okay, but not super warm. I asked for a suggestion and there was a little hesitation so not rude, just noticeable. I feel like greeting customers when they walk in and having a more positive attitude while taking orders would go a long way. Food-wise, it was decent but not amazing. The meat wasn't seasoned as well as I personally like, especially for a Mexican spot in California where the competition is strong. The rice and beans were good, though. The fixings that came on the plate with the guacamole (lettuce, onions, tomatoes) didn't seem as fresh as I expected, especially since I went around lunchtime. Ambience-wise, it's a simple setup... limited seating inside, but plenty of outdoor seating. Nothing fancy, just small tables set up for two. Definitely seems like a solid quick lunch spot if you're in the area. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable either. I might come back and try something different, but right now it's a solid 3/5 for me.

Two Enchiladas combo, with 1 chicken and 1 cheese enchilada.

Super tasty food with generous portions. Excellent customer service in a clean atmosphere with plenty of parking. I had the Enchilada plate with 1 chicken and 1 cheese, rice and beans. Excellent flavor, moist rice and beans tasted like my grandma made.

    Tacos potato hard shell

Bomb.com the potato tacos are so well made and their buy one get one occasionally always makes your day better. I don't know about service because I only order from DoorDash, but you HAVE TO ASK FOR SALSA OR THEY WILL FORGET. The tacos with out the salsa has flavor but not like with it! Arroz con leche- avoid it it's not great but very bland. But I will keep coming back for the potato tacos

    Caldo

Parking is kind of hard to find, but it's worth it. My wife was craving Caldo, and she loves it. My son said he almost wished there was less meat in his burrito, because it was so packed-almost. My wife was trying to figure out which drink to order and he let her try the jimaica, fresh and awesome! Chill, hole in the wall feel with patio and some small inside s

Tried la esquina for the 1st time today my co workers recommended it with it being right up the street from our office and its a small place I got the carnie asada Burrito and it was about 18 and some change and I thought a little expensive but OK when I opened it up I understand why it was like 5 pounds lol so worth the money if your in the area I think its worth a try and I will be back to try the breakfast burrito for sure.

They place is awesome! Was working in the area temporarily and came here for lunch at least 4 times. That's how good it was. Each time I came by I got the rolled tacos or the crunchy tacos and they were so good! The shredded beef is the meat I ordered in them and they were so flavorful! Great quality of food with great salsas on the side. Prices were very decent in addition. The have a great menu, a little bit of everything. My wife tried the Baja tacos and loved them. Service is great here as each time we were greeted and the service was on point. You do have the option to dine indoor or outdoor here as well. Thanks La Esquina for the great lunches, till next time!

    Bean and cheese burrito

I usually get regular tacos and burritos and they're delicious! However I got a bean and cheese burrito today and sadly the cheese wasn't melted so when I got home I had to reheat it on the pan

    Three tacos a la carte

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and today it was the day! I ordered a Carnitas combination plate; it came with rice, beans, lettuce, avocado sauce and Carnitas. My husband got three tacos; Carnitas, Asada and Al Pastor. My dish was ok, I had higher expectations. It was lacking flavor and I have been passing gas :( since I had it, this is not at all common for me!!! My husband's remarks about his food... it is like the Food Truck food from 20 years ago; not good! The food was not hot, it was more like room temperature. It isn't cheap either for the ambiance of the locale. I won't go back.

    Horchata Latte , Breakfast Burrito
    Marcy M.

The review about the woman passing gas after eating here is laughable. That's not the restaurants fault that's a you problem get your fiber up! First time here cause my coworker was raving about this place, we called ahead of time for pick up and I drove my happy self all the way from Agoura Hills for our lunch. We both got the breakfast burritos, his with chorizo and bacon and let me tell you the size of these burritos is astronomical. I couldn't even finish mine. Everything tasted fresh , finally a place where the frijoles don't taste like canned ones they are fresh and so dang good! I was actually surprised because I would never eat Mexican food in T.O. All my go to spots are in Moorpark. The prices here are reasonable for the area. The Horchata Lattes are delicious , it's not overwhelmingly sweet and for the large cup they give you for $5.99? Yeah I'll be back! The nice lady at the register was so kind and the service was fast too! I can't wait to try more food here.

And in a way, that's exactly what El Sancho Cantina is: an escape. A secret. A little taste of something else. Whether you slide in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner, El Sancho is where you come to cheat on your routine. Tucked into Thousand Oaks, it's a getaway hidden in plain sight. Sit at the bar, let the cool breeze drift through, and allow the Spanish ballads to work their magic. For a moment, you'll forget where you are--and believe you've wandered into a dreamy cantina somewhere deep in Mexico. Start with the "El Viejo"--their riff on an Old Fashioned. Let the applewood smoke swirl above the glass as you lean in. The aroma hits first, then the deep flavors of añejo tequila and Mexican whiskey settle in with smooth confidence. Sip slow. This isn't a race--it's a seduction. If you're looking for something a little lighter--a healthy balance between indulgence and intention--try the two taco plate with the green salad substitution. I went for one Potato taco, one Shredded Chicken taco, and swapped out the rice and beans for a salad of mixed greens and cucumber, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette and a squeeze of fresh lime. The flavors were bright, clean, and satisfying. I walked away full--but not heavy. If I was meeting my Sancha after, I could've easily gone for a stroll. Maybe even dessert. But don't let me lead you down the wrong path--the tacos and cocktails are already all the temptation you need. And if that post-lunch lull starts to creep in, fight back with the "El Cafecito"--a soulful wake-up call of Licor 43, Kahlúa, cold brew coffee, and chocolate bitters. My personal pick over an espresso martini--bold, smooth, and unapologetically delicious. So yes, you might be cheating on SoCal for an hour with Mexico vibes, but El Sancho doesn't judge. In fact, it invites you back--with open arms, a strong pour, and just the right amount of trouble.
