    Chicken Enchilada plate
    Chanelle L.

I ordered the chicken enchiladas con verde sauce and a taco plate with 3 tacos. Both came with rice and beans with queso on top. The enchiladas were okay, not shredded chicken but just chunks of chicken in the tortilla wrapping with sauce and cheese on top. Standard, not the best I've had in my honest opinion but edible enough to be somewhat satisfied. My fiancée really enjoyed the tacos in asada, pollo and pastor. They have good salsas and decent chips. I got jamaica in a medium cup and my total for everything came out to 39.22. Decent enchiladas, very good tacos. Not too disappointed with spending the money since I got to try it and well, I'll leave this review for anyone else thinking of trying it out as well.

Been here a few times. They do a great job love the fresh salsa bar. One time there were some ingredients missing on my burrito that already barely had anything since I don't eat meat & cheese. That was a bummer but still didn't waste much of it. I definitely love coming here (:

I returned here tonight. I am revisiting my review as well, awarding 4 stars. I found the tacos more moist and flavorful tonight than on my previous visit. I wholeheartedly recommend you come here for tacos, along with their other menu offerings.

Pretty darn good and open late... had the lengua burrito and it was full of flavor. Service is super quick. They offer the option of homemade corn tortillas for the tacos. Will be back to see if there's consistency. Another customer had ordered mulitas with sautéed onions... that's what I'm having next time!

Asada Burrito is delicious especially with their habenro sauce so good!

I been ordering lunch from La Poblana atleast twice a week for last like 2 months and its definitely the real deal. The Asada Burrito is and they have good quality steak. But what always is a make or break for me is the hot sauces and La Poblana got it down there green sauce is really good butttt the habenro sauce is freaking delicious if your in the area this is a must try I highly recommend for sure

Nice little spot in Thousand Oaks. Got the breakfast burrito with steak and bacon and it hit the spot. Tortillas warmed and cooked properly (no microwave bs). Just the right amount of each ingredient in the burrito!! I tried 3 of their salsa's from the salsa bar and all three were very good. None of them watered down. Great flavors. Might favorite was their habanero salsa. Legit hot. I am good with heat, but this gave me the nice little forehead sweats from how spicy it was. Horchata was delicious! The guys behind the counter were nice and helpful with my order. All around great spot. I will be visiting this place often.

    Tacos Al Pastor!!

I love these tacos. Al Pastor and Carne Asada are both truly divine. The Habanero Salsa is unique (the bright Orange one in the salsa bar) that will melt your face and your worries right away. This place is popular and always has people coming through, and service is still quick and welcoming. It's a nice, happenin taco shop. I go for the Tacos but I had a Burrito once and it was one of the best burritos that I have ever had. I've brought folks here who have confirmed that the burrito is unrivaled. Enjoy La Poblana!!

2 shrimp tacos with grilled onion

First time here and I'll be back. I think this may be my new spot for Mexican food. Hubby and I both orderrd a dry chicken burrito with whole beans, 2 shrimp tacos, 1 pastor taco, and a side of beans & rice for $38. Everything tasted great and I love that they added grilled onion on each taco. The salsa bar is well stocked and fresh. Chips are available for you to serve up. I'm excited to try all their tacos, breakfast burrito, and maybe a sandwich in the future. I'm so glad I finally tried this spot.

This is what happens to a shrimp taco when you try and take a bite of it, it just falls apart.

Now that they've been open for a few months, they're finding that they have to change things to keep being profitable. You used to be able to get an Horchata or another drink and then pay a dollar for a refill while eating inside the restaurant. They've done away with that. More importantly, when you order their shrimp tacos, you no longer get two tortillas having just one tortilla it falls apart in your hands. Also, they've done away with the cucumber slices and their sauce area. I guess we'll go back to ordering and eating from their truck that's over off of Thousand Oaks Blvd.. Finally the price is fluctuate a drink that says five dollars for a large Horchata rings up at $5.20. It's only $.20 but they need to keep their prices accurate or they're gonna end up getting cited by the city or the county. Because of this I've had to change my five star rating to a four star rating.

I finally stopped in for lunch and left already planning my next visit, it was that good! The restaurant is small, cozy, and filled with locals. It's the kind of place that has me dusting off my Spanish when it's time to order (which is usually a pretty good sign). The staff is incredibly friendly and despite my lack of fluency in a language I really should have mastered by now....we always make it work. If I had to make a simple recommendation, come for the tacos. The homemade tortillas are some of the freshest I've had around town and make every protein shine. On my visit, I tried the carnitas and al pastor tacos and while both were excellent, the carnitas were the standout for me. I'd happily come back for those alone. A solid carnitas tacos with their classic toppings and again, the fresh tortilla is what makes this spot standout from the others nearby.

And in a way, that's exactly what El Sancho Cantina is: an escape. A secret. A little taste of something else. Whether you slide in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner, El Sancho is where you come to cheat on your routine. Tucked into Thousand Oaks, it's a getaway hidden in plain sight. Sit at the bar, let the cool breeze drift through, and allow the Spanish ballads to work their magic. For a moment, you'll forget where you are--and believe you've wandered into a dreamy cantina somewhere deep in Mexico. Start with the "El Viejo"--their riff on an Old Fashioned. Let the applewood smoke swirl above the glass as you lean in. The aroma hits first, then the deep flavors of añejo tequila and Mexican whiskey settle in with smooth confidence. Sip slow. This isn't a race--it's a seduction. If you're looking for something a little lighter--a healthy balance between indulgence and intention--try the two taco plate with the green salad substitution. I went for one Potato taco, one Shredded Chicken taco, and swapped out the rice and beans for a salad of mixed greens and cucumber, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette and a squeeze of fresh lime. The flavors were bright, clean, and satisfying. I walked away full--but not heavy. If I was meeting my Sancha after, I could've easily gone for a stroll. Maybe even dessert. But don't let me lead you down the wrong path--the tacos and cocktails are already all the temptation you need. And if that post-lunch lull starts to creep in, fight back with the "El Cafecito"--a soulful wake-up call of Licor 43, Kahlúa, cold brew coffee, and chocolate bitters. My personal pick over an espresso martini--bold, smooth, and unapologetically delicious. So yes, you might be cheating on SoCal for an hour with Mexico vibes, but El Sancho doesn't judge. In fact, it invites you back--with open arms, a strong pour, and just the right amount of trouble.

I already know I'll be back for lunch because the tacos and micheladas looked very tempting. I came in for breakfast though, so that was my focus on this visit. I ordered the rojo chilaquiles, no meat, with an over-medium egg and this dish was a 10/10. The red sauce (almost orange) was packed with flavor without being spicy (a kindness I appreciated at 10am), and the tortilla chips somehow stayed perfectly crunchy. Texturally? A dream. This was one of the best chilaquiles dishes I've had in a very long time, especially in the 805 so I'll definitely be back for these again soon. Portions were perfect and while the dish was simple, it was well executed. I washed it all down with a refreshing jamaica agua fresca. Last note: don't skip the dessert counter. I left with a flan cake, and next time I'm trying their chocoflan hybrid (highly recommended by the staff). This spot is a great local establishment and I really hope more people check them out.
