I LOVED this food. I am not being dramatic when I tell you that these birria tacos were the best I have had in my life! Sooooooooo good.... Super messy to eat though, so if you don't want to get down and dirty, order something else... but know you will be missing out... The service was quick and efficient!

Chicken taco and 3 rolled beef tacos (under the cheese and lettuce) YUM!!!!

Local dive with amazing food. I stopped here for lunch on an 8 hr drive home, and so glad I did! The staff behind the counter was so nice! I ordered a crispy chicken taco and the beef rolled tacos. Everything came out hot, fresh, and crispy. The girl behind the counter brought me out three different options for salsa and it was a delicious add-on!

Breakfast plate is so delicious and the chorizo gordita is phenomenal. The chorizo is homemade. It's fresh. It's good. The spice blend in the chorizo. It's perfect. I love eating here

    Birria tacos

Birria tacos were so gas. Little pricey but worth every penny. Definitely a good spot for a quick lunch

Ask the Community - Los Altenos

Are the rice and beans vegan friendly? Meaning is the rice made with chicken broth? Are the beans made with pork/lard?…

I don't think so... it's pretty traditional Mexican food

We were craving Mexican food and found this gem on Yelp! It had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we ate here! I had the chilaquiles with red sauce and chicken. The food was amazing! They give you a lot, which I couldn't finish, but I totally took the rest home and ate it! The red sauce had great flavor and not spicy at all. The chicken was seasoned well. My mom had the chimichanga with green chili and she loved it! She said the meat was not dry and the green chili was delicious. Our fave were the chips and salsa! We loved the salsa so much, we bought a pint to take with us on our trip. As for the restaurant, the atmosphere was very upbeat, colorful, and full of culture. The inside is a little small, but when we went about 11am on a Thursday, it wasn't busy at all. Although, I did hear this place gets packed. Parking appeared very limited as this place is located in a small plaza area. Despite this, this restaurant is totally worth a try! My mom and I plan on coming back when we visit again!

Insanely delicious and what a great portion size. We were a bit surprised to learn chips and salsa are an extra charge which is not like most Mexican restaurants. We ordered them anyway and they were fantastic. The chips are light and crispy ( I don't like thick chips) and the 2 salsas were divine. I especially like the red and could have bought a gallon of it. We thought our server was attentive and friendly and the food and drinks came out pretty quick. They have some very cool Day of the Dead style artwork on the walls which was fun to look at.

The staff was very attentive and offered exceptional service. There is a cold bar with salsas and toppings in the seating area. My food was good - but some complaints. The carne asada taco was excellent and tender and the beans were exactly as expected. The carnitas taco had a strong nutmeg or allspice flavor that overpowered the taco and the rice was dry.

But, when we found it...parking is ample and the entry is loud and proud. Bright interior colors and lots of Mexican pastries and other items before the order desk. The menu is ample and service is friendly...they acknowledged the poor directions ‍ I had the rolled taco special which came with rice beans and a drink (the horchata is AMAZING!). My friend had a huge breakfast burrito. In small places like this a salsa bar usually is a huge indicator of good food for me. The salsa bar was beyond impressive. All made in house...and do NOT bypass the pickled carrots and jalapeños. OH MY The interior is huge and it is definite a local take out place. I will be back to try more!
