We went there at 8:00 pm. for our dinner. Family of 2, plus a two years old. We were sat right the way. Ordered our food and got them right just in no time. We ordered (Tapatio Enchilada, Burrito De Camaron, kid cheese quesadillas) a margarita and kid's meal. Food were excellent 10/10!! We were impressed with everything, bussers or food runners they were super intensive. We got our drinks refilled, our boxes and dessert ordered by one of them. Also ordered another margarita once we ordered a fried Ice-cream. We love this place, would go every once in a while, because their food is so good and my fiancée is in love with their margarita. But here it comes, we asked for the check from our saver. Everything came right, but last one was 18% fees which was $22 something. And on the bottom of the check said gratuity is not included or tip is not included (something like that, didn't think of taking a picture). So we asked the saver and he said don't worry we will fix it. We ended up tipping him $30 cash, which we could have given it to bussers or food tunners instead. My question is, was it really the system error or was it because we were Asian and people assumed we don't know English? We love this place, and we're local here and now we have to think twice before returning who would be our server. Double check your bill before you pay. read more

#OMG!!!! This is the first time here. We didn't know what to expect. Our friend likes the place and said she thought we'd like it. We came for taco Tuesday and we had the happy hour margaritas. We thought they were small (and they were the small ones) but they were as large as the large margaritas at the chain restaurants. Thinking the tacos would be small I ordered three. I visited El Tapatio in Flagstaff AZ. I ordered a medium combo, 2 items, a soft chili relleno with green sauce and a Chili Colorado enchilada, and rice and refried beans. Authentic, incredible service, and a huge, detailed menu with a great selection of vegetarian and special dishes. What stood out was how busy it was in here, but how fast and efficient the service was. Every single worker was busting their butt but with smiles on their faces. The portions are HUGE! We decided to come back to this restaurant because the last time we ordered food here, it was really amazing. Based on that experience, I chose to stick with the Ground Beef Burrito, priced at $14.25 as of January 2026. It was just as good as I remembered and still amazing. During this visit, we also tried two other dishes. The first was the Creamy Chimichanga, also known as Chimichanga a la Crema, which cost $19.25. This dish was savory, creamy, and very indulgent. Like the burrito dishes, it came in a large portion and was served in a huge tray. I liked it, but I felt it was a little too heavy for me because of all the cream. Even so, it was still very delicious. We also ordered the Veggie Super Burrito for $14.99. It was filled with beans and was pretty good overall, but I didn't think it was anything especially memorable. Out of everything we ordered this time, the Ground Beef Burrito remained my favorite. My family and I have been traveling. We are originally from California, all I have to say this is hands down excellent food. The first pit stop we ordered loaded fries and shredded beef burrito. My son had a kids burger and to be honest that was a great burger. Do not forget it comes with a kids drink if you are picking up. The second way back, I wanted to try the tacos the tripa taco had an excellent crunch factor and salsa is somewhat spicy. The carnitas and asada were delicious. I love seeing the jarritos display and aguas frescas. It is colorful wish I could have sat down and had my dinner. This will be our travel pit stop from now on. read more

The sauces each had their own unique delicious and bold flavors. I accompanied it with a refreshing and creamy horchata drink. It had the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness in it. Mexican food in Flagstaff! We waited 30 minutes for a table for three on a Monday, this place was packed. Once we were seated, everything moved pretty quickly. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, and steak burritos with enchilada sauce. The fajitas were excellent and had a lot of variety of vegetables including mushrooms, carrots, onions and bell peppers, which I enjoy when I choose fajitas. My dining partners enjoyed their burritos as well and everything comes in huge portions. I wish the tortillas were thinner/ authentic- they are reminiscent of a certain popular grocery store version, but that could be my bias coming from Southwest Arizona. There are quite a few Mexican restaurants along Route 66 going through Flagstaff. This one lies a little more outside the crowded hub where everyone bar hops and eats downtown. We thought it'd be less busy here, but we were wrong. It seemed like a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The food is really good here though, and that's why! While sifting through reviews and photos of this place, I came across a photo of the El Tapatio chimichanga trio. One of the three chimis was a shredded mole chicken mole! Sold! It also helped that one of them was a pork green chili one and the other was a chicken cream chipotle type one. One of my friend got the same exact thing but as enchiladas. She was a fan of her plate as well! My hubby made as super hungry and ordered the ribeye ranchero. It was a bit overcooked but I think he confused the waitress when he ordered and she may have heard him say medium instead of medium rare, but it was still tasty he said. None of my group ordered the fajitas but they were a hit with most people in the restaurant because they truly lit those skillets with a huge fire, a pyromaniacs dream! Haha!
