Based on that experience, I chose to stick with the Ground Beef Burrito, priced at $14.25 as of January 2026. It was just as good as I remembered and still amazing. During this visit, we also tried two other dishes. The first was the Creamy Chimichanga, also known as Chimichanga a la Crema, which cost $19.25. This dish was savory, creamy, and very indulgent. Like the burrito dishes, it came in a large portion and was served in a huge tray. I liked it, but I felt it was a little too heavy for me because of all the cream. Even so, it was still very delicious. We also ordered the Veggie Super Burrito for $14.99. Was told a 50 minute wait which is expected on Cinco de Mayo, no problem. Put our name and number down and was told we would get a call when ready. We got the call 50 minutes later saying our table was ready and we told the young woman on the phone we will be there shortly since we were staying close. 30 seconds later the host calls back saying we have 60 seconds to walk into the building to claim our table. We were sat at a large comfortable booth upon entering. The tables and chairs are hand painted and sealed. It makes for a nice atmosphere. Service was prompt and our Cadillac margaritas came out quickly along with complimentary chips and salsa. The shrimp cocktail was huge and had tons of shrimp in it. It was delicious. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, and steak burritos with enchilada sauce. The fajitas were excellent and had a lot of variety of vegetables including mushrooms, carrots, onions and bell peppers, which I enjoy when I choose fajitas. My dining partners enjoyed their burritos as well and everything comes in huge portions. While sifting through reviews and photos of this place, I came across a photo of the El Tapatio chimichanga trio. One of the three chimis was a shredded mole chicken mole! Sold! It also helped that one of them was a pork green chili one and the other was a chicken cream chipotle type one. One of my friend got the same exact thing but as enchiladas. She was a fan of her plate as well! My hubby made as super hungry and ordered the ribeye ranchero. It was a bit overcooked but I think he confused the waitress when he ordered and she may have heard him say medium instead of medium rare, but it was still tasty he said. Andrew would be impressed with the artwork. The chips and salsa served just after we arrived were great. The salsa was chunky and very tasty, and the chips were nice and crisp. They also brought a small bowl of shredded cabbage, tomato bits and cilantro along with the chips and salsa. It was all very good. I ordered the taco salad with shredded chicken. There was a lot of chicken in the tortilla bowl along with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and cheese. All very fresh and delicious. My wife had the chicken tortilla soup. It was beautiful, in a massive bowl. It was delicious as well and was more than she could eat so she took the leftovers with us for another meal later. On our last day in Flagstaff my husband and I decided to try this place. I'm vegetarian and gluten intolerant and found that I could get the fajitas. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by 2 people. Our waiter was also friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the carne asada lunch platter. He LOVED his meal. The portion of meat was small but according to him "delicious". I ordered the fajitas with corn tortillas. It came with the usual rice and beans. Assuming they were cooked with animal fat I didn't eat them. Sadly, my fajitas were just okay. I'm used to fajitas being peppers and onions but not this time. It was broccoli, mushrooms, carrots and some green vegetable I didn't recognize. There was a scant amount of peppers and onion. The seasoning was good and for a vegetarian I do eat lots of vegetables but I was a little disappointed. They are clearly doing something right because the place was pretty full. Disappointing trio combo deep fried chile relleno was not good and over fried didn't realize it even was going to be fried or I would've not gotten that. The chicken Chalupa dry, the shell it was served in tasted greasy no flavor, pork enchilada dry. The pork is chunky instead of shredded no cheese , rice and beans average nothing special.
