    Cheese enchilada with fried egg

Checked them out for breakfast. Small parking lot can be an issue so you might need to park in the downtown are and walk which isn't too bad. Friendly staff that keeps your water full, ordered food and received our plates pretty fast. Cute and quaint with local art on the walls for sale. We enjoyed ourselves and with the food being top notch I'm sure this will be a staple in our traveling when we return.

After a long day of driving to and from the Grand Canyon and exploring out in the sun, one of our friends found MartAnne's nearby as we arrived in Flagstaff. Thank goodness for his decision to come here because it was the food highlight of our whole trip! We were greeted right away at the counter and escorted to a table for our group of 4. On a Friday night, the restaurant was definitely busy, but we lucked out with finding parking in the lot and also getting a table. After a short wait to look through the menus (breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served all day), we decided on chilaquiles (Christmas), pozole and a tamale, a pork chimichanga, and the LGBLT sandwich with fries - quite an assortment! The interior decor is a feast for the eyes while waiting for the food. The red walls and decorated with paintings and art throughout, which we enjoyed talking about as we were seated. The food arrived quickly though, and our focus immediately shifted to how delicious everything was! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and homemade in the best ways. The portions were generous and if you know me, you'd know that value makes things taste better lol. Service was excellent, the food was divine, and even the horchata and tres leches that we were enticed to order exceeded expectations. What a gem of a place. Highly recommend.

Very warm and cozy mom-and-pop restaurant in downtown Flagstaff. The servers were kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, and portions were very generous. One thing to note is that everything on the front menu comes with hash browns, beans, and rice, so you will definitely leave feeling full no matter what you order. It is a bit on the pricey side, but that may just be typical Flagstaff pricing since things do tend to run a little higher here. Their drinks were also a bit expensive, so I stuck with water this time. My boyfriend ordered the iced white chocolate coffee, which was really tasty, though definitely on the sweeter side. I ordered their posole with two over-medium eggs on top. I've never had posole served that way before, but now I might not want it any other way, it was so flavorful and comforting! I would definitely recommend stopping by whether you're a local in Flagstaff or just passing through.

Their food is spectacular. I had an interesting variation on a Mexican breakfast. It was a chewy-gooey cheese enchilada topped with an over medium fried egg in rich savory enchilada sauce. They were served with rice, beans and FANTASTIC hash browns. I haven't had hash browns this good in over 50 years. Even the flour tortilla, normally meh item, was fresh and tasty EVERY trip to Flag going forward will include a stop at MartAnnes. Service was old school hospitality. Ambiance is busy Mexican diner. Art everywhere.

The first time I ate here was during breakfast. I remember saying that was the best breakfast I've ever had. Came back for the lunch menu and tried the birria tacos. Delicious again! This is quite the local favorite spot for Mexican cuisine. Service was a bit wonky with orders because my aunt's order was wrong but got it corrected quickly. Just sitting watching others in the restaurant, it appeared they got their orders wrong as well. Not sure where the mix up starts either from taking the order or the back of the kitchen. I hope to try this place when in town.

MartAnne's has potential, but my visit was definitely a mix. When we walked in, both Griselda and the younger host looked directly at us and still didn't say hello or acknowledge us. No greeting, no "give me a moment," nothing. It was awkward and honestly not the welcome you expect from a busy restaurant. The whole vibe changed once Sophia, our waitress, came over. She was warm, attentive, and the only staff member who actually made us feel welcomed. She's the reason the experience wasn't a complete miss. Food: about 3.8/5. Pricing is reasonable for the portions. Our order: Vegan tacos (2 a la carte, $5.99 each) One crunchy, one soft. A bit too charred and missing a sauce element. Vegan cheese would level them up. Fish taco plate ($17.99) Easily the best fish tacos I've ever had. Great seasoning, great texture, and the beans and smashed potatoes (no cheese) were excellent. Street carne asada tacos (3 for $17.59) Just okay -- flavorful enough but not memorable. The beans on the side were great. Red chile beef taco ($5.29) Underwhelming and lacked depth. The food had some standout moments, especially the fish tacos and the beans, but the lack of greeting when you walk in really affects the overall experience. Sophia was the highlight of the night with her service. I'd come back for the fish tacos, beans and potatoes but I'd ask to sit in Sophia's section. for sure.

Wow this place was amazing! After a long day traveling, site seeing, and getting in late, the next morning we wanted something hearty and delicious. We found exactly that! The place is very well decorated with artwork from a local artist. Each piece was amazing to look at. The service was amazing! The staff is very friendly, very professional, and explained the nuances of the menu in detail. Amazing food rounded out a stellar experience. The plates were extremely generously portioned, the ingredients seasoned well, presented beautifully, and mixed together in a great ensemble. This is a must visit breakfast/brunch/lunch place in flagstaff.

I visited MartAnne's based on a recommendation for breakfast and we were seated right away. Our server was nice and took our order. We ordered a Horchata latte, a vanilla latte, an Emmett, which is vegan and one BBB pancake. Let me just tell you, the food was in incredible and the coffee was just as good. The Horchata latte was gigantic and was practically two drinks in one. My partner and I ate everything and I was very pleased. Our tab was not crazy expensive so that was nice. This ambience of the restaurant was cool and eclectic and I really liked it. Overall, I would come back if I'm ever in town.

    The Emmet- SO yummy!

Loved The Emmet! A vegan plate with delicious grilled seitan, toasted corn chips, beans, rice, green chili sauce and a tortilla. It was delicious and the grilled seitan is SO good here! The salsa was also very good and interesting. The service was good. Note that they have a 4.5% charge if you use a credit card. You can pay cash to avoid the charge. I enjoyed looking at the art on the walls. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

This place is decorated like Mexico's day of the dead - cool art everywhere. There is definitely a wait here - but we walked around the area and checked out local art galleries. I got the horchata latte and it was so delicious - highly recommend! I always order chilaquiles when I see it and I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't authentic.

    Vegetarian green pozole!! Amazing

Excellent vegetarian choices! I had the green pozole with hominy. Slightly spicy, so warming on this unusually cold Cinco de Mayo! Good beans and excellent salsa.

Got the huevos benedictos valentina style and it was AMAZING. The portions are huge and sooo flavorful. I truly enjoyed my meal and the staff was so nice. The place is so awesomely decorated as well! I ordered a mimosa and bellini as well and was absolutely sauced. 10/10 experience.

    Ask the Community - MartAnne's

Do they have a full bar?

No! I believe they have mimosa's and Bloody Mary's only!

    Do they take reservations?

I'm not sure if they do, we got there for the first time and they were very busy but got us seated and served very quickly!

    Is the Mexican food authentic?

Yes, but it's not Sonoran style Mexican food. It's like a Northern Mexico-New Mexico mix.

    Do they serve mole here?

    Yes

No regrets making a trip to this amazing place. Food was really delicious especially the green chili pork. And yes, portion are huge but make sure you leave rom for their incredible desserts?

I got an email from good ole Yelp asking me to answer this question... Yes! Make sure to leave room for dessert. Always. Although, it will be challenging at MartAnne's as their portions are humongous!

Based on that experience, I chose to stick with the Ground Beef Burrito, priced at $14.25 as of January 2026. It was just as good as I remembered and still amazing. During this visit, we also tried two other dishes. The first was the Creamy Chimichanga, also known as Chimichanga a la Crema, which cost $19.25. This dish was savory, creamy, and very indulgent. Like the burrito dishes, it came in a large portion and was served in a huge tray. I liked it, but I felt it was a little too heavy for me because of all the cream. Even so, it was still very delicious. We also ordered the Veggie Super Burrito for $14.99. It was filled with beans and was pretty good overall, but I didn't think it was anything especially memorable. Out of everything we ordered this time, the Ground Beef Burrito remained my favorite. Overall, I was once again satisfied with the food from this restaurant and felt very impressed with the experience.

Overall the service was very prompt and friendly, a welcome experience after hiking outside most of the day. The restaurant itself is an interesting blend of Tex-Mex and Native American cuisine, with frybread living alongside cheesy lunch combos and plenty of dairy rich cream sauces. Chips & Salsa (Complimentary) - The chips are normal white corn tortilla chips, nothing really to comment about. Salsa Brava has three types of salsa. The first is a mild pico with fresh tangy tomatoes, red onions, and cilantro stem in a watery base that's somewhat sour from citrus. The second is a medium spicy salsa that's a bit warming, filled with comforting smoky and tomato flavors. The last is the spiciest, but doesn't really top out much higher than spicy jalapeno. It's so fruity at the start it's almost like drinking salted pineapple juice. Navajo Taco ($19.50) - The base is a piece of frybread around 7 inch in diameter. It's rather thin, not puffy at all, making it somewhat dense and chewy. The frybread is slathered with some refried beans that are tender and thick. They aren't pureed until completely uniform; instead, there are some pinto pieces strewn throughout. On top is a mound of their famous carnitas, full of pork flavor, seasoned well and braised until very tender, almost fall-apart so. There's a tiny bit of a tang but I'm not sure I can identify the flavor as citrus as the menu indicates. Plenty of cheese is melted on top, then a pile of mixed lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, and lime creme. Finally, there's a huge mound of sour cream. It all adds up to an extremely filling meal. It's fatty, it's rich, it's decadent. It sits so heavily in the stomach that it feeds two very hungry people. On the side, they give a small cup of Mexican rice. It has some charred bits inside and also some whole corn kernels. It's pretty much the perfect texture, no complaints. (5/5) Stuffed Sopapilla ($19.50) - Even with the taco being so rich, this dish is even more so. It's the same frybread base, but folded over with tons of ingredients stuffed inside, placed on a bunch of lime creme, and then topped with even more dairy. The lime creme is interesting in that it doesn't really taste like crema. For some reason, I taste nutmeg which reminds me heavily of alfredo sauce. On top is a bunch of melted cheese and cilantro cream, and then some diced onion, cilantro, and pickled onion. There's not enough acidity for that much richness from the rest of the dish. And that's why they give a side of sour cream. Which also adds more dairy richness, but also a pleasing tangy note. There's so much varied dairy, there's probably enough saturated fat to make even a cardiologist blush. Stuffed in the sopapilla there's even more cheese! And then refried beans and a ton of pulled chicken. The chicken is surprisingly moist - usually dishes with this many fatty and saucy elements means the chicken is an afterthought and cooked until super dry. This one's actually quite nice though, seasoned well with great chicken flavor. (5/5) Both plates are broiled so everything is warm and the cheese is all melty and delicious. This is one of the few places I've visited where they give you a ton more food than the menu pictures online indicate. Even with us hiking the entire day, we could not finish more than half of each plate. I feel like this is one of those restaurants which I wouldn't have given such a high review if I hadn't been ravenous going in. But I can only rate on how much I enjoyed the food as I ate it - and for that, Salsa Brava deserves a 5. Bathrooms - Two larger ones with multiple stalls Note: Salsa Brava charges an automatic 4% service charge. This is labeled on the menu.
