My 14 years old daughter had ankle sprain last fall during a volleyball practice . She had difficulty walking and tearful that she could not play for the team next day as a setter. We call Dr. Shen urgently for an appointment. Dr. Shen's staff immediately added my daughter to their full schedule within 2-3 hrs. I Jane used Dr Shen to treat successfully a number of issues including sleep probs, strengthening immune system, aches, pains of limbs or hands or fingers, digestive issues. I can't believe how well this worked! I recently had an injury to my back, but did not seek any treatment as I've always dealt with back pain. It gradually got better, then suddenly came back even worse -- I couldn't even walk up stairs. My doctor gave me muscle relaxant but that only partially helped, and I was still in pain -- even Alieve/Advil had no impact. For about a week, I felt heaviness in my head. When I lower my head, I can feel a strong tension and heaviness. I also had low energy and poor sleep. My blood pressure has gone up and stayed at an average of 155/95. Came to Dr. Shen and she performed a detailed examination of the whole body. Right after the first session, my blood pressure dropped into normal range. After two acupuncture sessions and now two weeks later, the heaviness and tension in my head is completely gone. I've been dealing with headache and neck pain. After failing with my first acupuncturist (suggested by headache specialist), I went to Dr Shen. Susan is a very skilled acupuncturist - I suffer from frequent migraines and sometimes the only relief I can find is from her treatments. I don't normally write reviews, but this time I thought I should. I've had acupuncture about 20 times at a few different places. I've never had any problem before visiting Dr. Shen. I saw her three times before I decided to not return. On one of my visits acupuncture actually HURT. Normally, after all the needles are inserted someone will come and visit after about 10 minutes to make sure everything is good. No one came. I was covered with needles so there's no way i could pluck out the needles that were hurting my arm. And I was frickin' freezing too. She forgot to turn on the heat and left me there for about 25 minutes. NO BUENO. Not only did they lack customer service but all my problems got worse that she was treating. The herbs she gave me seemed to make my insomnia WORSE. I gotta give a huge THUMBS DOWN to Dr. Shen. She may be well intentioned but...we know what the road to hell is paved with. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Susanna Shen almost a year now. She is really kind and has been a good listener. I go every one to two weeks for a variety of issues---allergies, digestion, fatigue, pain (shoulder, back), and managing stress. She asks me what I am struggling with and tailors the treatment. I find acupuncture very good for re-balancing my body and enabling me to cope with minor pain & injuries (from running, tennis & soccer) and chronic issues like allergies. Dr. Shen is really one of the best acupuncturist in town. My young boys (age 3&5) had bad coughs. In US Pediatric doctors normally would not prescibe anything for you but it takes weeks for the kids to recover on tgeir own especially if they have heavy thick stuff in throat and they do not know how to cough out....it is so heart breaking to see the kids just kept coughing for weeks...it afffects their sleep, eating and schools...With Dr. Shen's acupuncture treatments together with the moxa, we could see the kids improve their condition much faster....in about 3-5 days, the cough is almost gone....
