This restaurant used to be really good but it has slowly been in decline. When you order Mexican food, you have a certain expectation of flavor, which their food no longer I ordered the fajitas texanas. The meat was all over cooked and rubbery. There was no seasoning, no flavor , not even salt. My husband ordered the pollo loco and it was just as bad, as he said "the chicken was rubber but the rice was good". Worst restaurant manager experience I've ever had ! I choked down two very dry chicken tacos and finally asked to return the third in exchange for a chicken enchilada. The manager refused stating that I should've said something earlier. Told me the only thing she's bringing me is the bill. I paid the bill and will never return. Large tables sitting right next to each other ( like literally 2 feet apart)...... started with a basket of stale chips..... since it is Lent we can not eat meat on Friday so we chose seafood.... The lobster enchiladas (16.99) were awful.... fishy mush inside mixed with what appeared to be rice. Loved going here for Mother's Day. The food was great. Atmosphere was friendly. They even gave my mom and me a rose after dinner.

The food was pretty good. The chicken enchiladas were yummy. I was not fond of the mole sauce on top of the chili Relleno. And the wait was super long for the food. I am assuming because no one wants to work these days so they are short staffed. We were very very patient because we understand that people don't wanna work. And it was very busy so I could tell it was a popular restaurant. The chips and salsa were really good too. And the server was super nice but she was slammed with so many tables. Our table of 4 ate so many chips and drank so much Dos Equis that our chip basket had to be refilled 4 times. Our waitress was friendly. Be very careful when paying with card and tipping, went there with my friend last night and this is the second time she was charged for more than what she wrote on the tip. The waitresses are definitely "editing" the numbers on the tip to take more money out of the cards. When she complained today the story didn't add up, she tipped $5 on a $25 bill and somehow she was charged $45, the waitress (who was rude, this is our second time with her waiting on us and being extremely rude) said she thought the tip said $50 which still does not add up right and make any sense. I believe that this is the best Mexican Restaurant in Westland. The Chips, Salsa, food, drinks and service all rock!! The chips are always hot and the salsa always tastes fresh. My favorite think to order here is Chicken Fajitas. For some reason, their fajitas are a notch up from anywhere else. I've tried fajitas elsewhere, but they never seem to compare. The refried beans, Pico De Gallo, rice, and Guacamole are also top notch. Everytime we come here, we are seated quickly, and chips come out fast... They were able to seat a party of 15 on a same day reservation which was amazing as our other restaurant didn't take reservations nor could they accommodate our large group. Service was great, food was great, beer was large and Michigan Margaritas put most of our group on their a$$! Would recommend this place to anyone. Been here a few times in the last couple months and I love it. A little more towards traditional Mexican food rather than Tex-Mex, but it is a huge menu with a good variety either way. The best thing about this restaurant was the server we had (Sarah B.) We decided to visit this place while participating in the All American Cruise in Westland. I probably would have given this place 3 stars had it not been the attitude of the "manager". I ordered and was served a "Sangria". I make my own at home and this just didn't seem right. It tasted like a cheap Lambrusco with chunks of green apple (no other fruits). Our server informed me that they use the BOTTLED Sangria (that you pay $8 for at Kroger and then apparently charge ME $7 for a glass!). I asked the server if she could please replace the Sangria with a Frozen Margarita (easy enough). She went to do just that, and came back to tell me that "the manager wants to make you his OWN Sangria". I, having apparently no choice, agreed to try it, although a GOOD Sangria should be given TIME to sit and meld. 10 minutes... 15 minutes... Our food arrived.. NO SANGRIA! Finally the server brought me a large shot glass of what I can only describe as (overwhelming) Tequila, Red Wine and a possible lemon/lime Soda. It was WRETCHED! I couldn't drink that! I waited for THAT?!? After having been held "cocktail hostage" for so long, I thought that I would get something amazing! Eventually I got my Frozen Margarita (which was REALLY good). How presumptuous to think that you can TELL your customer that they CAN'T have something different UNTIL they try yours! Insulting! The Food: The Guacamole, which they claim was made in house, was SO salty, but my husband liked it.)! We ordered the Parillada for One. It was pretty good! A touch greasy, but tons of flavor! I've never had to give a review like this. The worst Mexican food I've ever had. The worst margaritas I've ever had. I love Mexican food and margaritas. I've enjoyed them all over the country. But this level of bad is new to me. I arrive at bar and the bartender, non licensed, tells me she doesn't know anything about tequila. Just knows how they make margaritas. She then allows the main bartender, just received his license, to make my drink. The margarita had no flavor and tasted watered down. Mind you it was top shelf with Don Julio reposado and about $13. I assured her their margarita mix did not have enough sour in it for acidity. They graciously took it back with no charge after I simply couldn't drink it. I next go to a table with my group. Order some guacamole for chips. Never came. But others who arrived much later and ordered at my table received their cheese dip with no sign of my guacamole. Waitress also didn't know what drinks they had available at bar. Service poor to say the least. Lastly, the fajitas were bland and tasted as if nothing was used to season the meat. The taco Tuesday special was worst that Taco Bell. If you have low expectations for Mexican food this place is it. But if you know good Mexican food and expect quality service, this is not the place for you. read more

Overall not terribly disappointing, but not terribly exceptional. Very large menu with lots of options, definitely leans more Tex Mex than authentic. Good service, and their lunch specials are a good deal. A small detail I disliked was the fact most of their dishes come with the option of rice or beans, instead of coming with both. I decided I wanted Mexican food for dinner and drove to Los Amigos. The recent updates to the exterior & interior are welcomed as the previous Beefeaters spot looks renewed and contemporary. I was immediately greeted after I entered and offered my choice of a booth or table. After choosing a booth I was given a menu then ordered a medium margarita (they come in 3 sizes) after being served chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and crispy yet the salsa was odd tasting... It had very little bite to it and my best way to describe it is as a generic salsa out of a jar with some tomatoes thrown in. The margarita was full of alcohol out of balance with what I've come to expect from such a drink. The liquid ingredients didn't mesh well at all - I'm no expert yet I suspect whoever made my drink had measured the ingredients wrong. My dinner was the worse part of the entire experience. The chicken burrito tasted as if canned chicken was placed in a flour tortilla without any spices then warmed up. The piles of sour cream and other toppings couldn't disguise the utter blandness of the food. I've dined at many Mexican restaurants where a meal like this would be around $14 and quite good (Mexican Village in Detroit is a fine example and serves great food) - $22 for this was way overpriced for this disappointing outing. Went to los amigos for Micheledas today and the drinks and guac were great but what I really enjoyed was the view. Elias had the first 2 buttons of his shirt undone which was just enough to be classy but saucy- if you know what I mean. Bottom line is get the micheladas and ask for Elias!!! I do NOT recommend! I went there Friday evening (6/15/2018). I ordered a raspberry daquiri (?) which was good. The mild salsa was full of burn-your-mouth hot salsa. I then ordered the shrimp quesadilla's. I specifically asked for NO onion and NO bell peppers. My dinner came to me FULL of onion and bell peppers. I told the waitress and she took it back. A second one came to me and was full of just onion. The waitress took that back the third one came back full of bell peppers. The third time came back to me with tomatoes in it. I gave up after the third time. Point is, the cooking staff to not seem to understand what NO means. Aside from that, I was not pleased at all with my experience. The tacos were three tortillas on a plate with a pile of ground beef in the middle sprinkles with lettuce and a little cheese. Certainly NOT worth the price. Went to Los Amigos on Sunday April 10, 2022. The place was very busy, so the slow service was expected. The bad food was not. Ordered a Botana as an entre. My experience with a botana is light crispy corn chips, with refried beans topped with chorizo, green peppers, onions, green olives, tomatoes, and jalapenos. So while they ordered elsewhere, I was scouring Yelp to find someplace that served seafood, that wasn't Red Lobster. I ordered the chimichangas with grilled shrimp and grilled lobster. It was absolutely delicious. Decadent, even. They didn't skimp on the seafood either. It was amazing!! I also ordered a small queso & chips. The dip was very good. I believe it's the same cheese that they top the chimichangas with. My wife picked my order up, so I can't comment on the interior of the place. But I will say that they have a new customer in me.
