Good food, however their guacamole is not a hit with me. It is the consistency of ultra pureed baby food with chopped tomatoes and onion in it. It looked like avocado sauce with veggies mixed in. read more

I just bought a home not far from here and decided to get dinner for my girls who helped me move. We got carry out. We had: mushroom quesadillas, chips, salsa, guac, nachos and asada street tacos w horchata. Everything was fab, esp the horchata. We will definitely return to dine in. read more

So I went here because I was waiting on some pizzas to get done for a game night and I have some time to kill. I stopped in and went straight to the bar. Got a shot and a Texas Margarita, it was pretty good. The Frozen one was on tap so I did that to make it a little quicker. The bartender really didn't interact a whole lot, not the end of the world, but having to ask for straws or something like that was a little bit of a hassle. Only because I know about bartending, you kind of want to make sure you address that when you drop the drink off, but it happens. They dropped off some chips while we waited, the trips were actually good. Good sauce on the chips. Came on hot. For a Mexican restaurant, that's important! The environment was super clean. Even the bathroom. There are probably a ton of other Mexican restaurants, but this one was pretty okay. Not something to run to, but if you're in the area, and a little shopping plaza, you can stop in for a bit. read more

Went and got a carry out order before work and they forgot the silverware... couldn't even eat it and called the restaurant and all they said was sorry... customer service is horrible.. if they get your order wrong it's on YOU! New-ish restaurant in the strip mall by Planet Fitness. It's clean and nicely decorated, rather bright and a bit gaudy. Service is immediate and very friendly. The food is pretty standard, highly Americanized "Mexican" fare. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. There is absolutely nothing authenticly Mexican here, but if you're used to Ameri-Mex and don't mind bland food, it's alright. I had a bowl of tortilla soup, and the enchiladas Rojas entrée. It was a lot of food, easily sharable. After putting a LOT of salsa on it, then resorting to the bottled hot sauce on the table, I got some flavor going. If you want "Mexican", and have that friend or family member that doesn't like spicy food, bring them here. read more

Have you ever been to Los Tres Amigos in Canton? OK. Well, this place is a carbon copy. Same exact menu. Same exact food. Identical taste. Like just 6 miles or so south on the same damn stretch of road. This was so hyped. I was jazzed to get a new Mexican place. My husband was, too. Waited patiently for the opening. Get the menu and was like, wtf? Snoozefest. If I wanted to eat at the same old Mexican place, I'd have just driven to Canton, thanks. It was good service boring mediocre food and overall made me sad for Belleville. Enjoy Cantons 15 year old leftovers. read more

I had to be somewhere pretty early and El Agave seemed a good choice. They've been open for some time, but I had not visited. They've have a wonderful establishment!! They have whimsical metal decorations on the wall and their food is, well, yummy. I LOVE their queso dip and I order extra to take home. It is that good! And the staff is pleasant, they'll answer any questions that you may have. El Agave is tucked away in the same area as Planet Fitness on Belleville Rd. and the north service drive. The restaurant is brand new. The colors of the table and chairs are just so pleasing to your eyes. The only negative was the ceiling. The customer service was exceptional. The food was delicious and it was the best Mexican rice I've ever had. I could've just made a meal right out of the rice, the prices were fair for dinner and they look extremely low for lunch so I highly recommend this place and I hope to see some of my neighbors there soon read more

Ordered a taco salad which came watery , they remade it n it was still horrible , I've had way better taco salad that actually came with a lot more things in it , for the price this isn't worth it ! What a great find! Was out running errands and came across El Agave in a strip mall leaving Walmart. Walked in, I was immediately seated by a very kind host that ended up being my waiter. Ask for Pedro as your waiter! He was fantastic! The service here during lunch was FAST and very friendly! I didn't even have to ask for the lunch drink specials, he mentioned them as I was being seated. Ordered a tea and house margarita (which ended up being of the "Jumbo" variety). They came out in less than 45 seconds, and let me tell y'all about this marg... it was fantastic! So good I had to get a second before I finished my meal. I ordered the dinner portion steak fajitas and they came out so fresh off the grill, I had to wait around 5 minutes to start eating as they finished searing on my hot plate. The decor and TVs are a nice touch and the music that played throughout the restaurant provided an ideal ambiance. Not too loud but just loud enough to not have to listen to other diners yap as I was dining alone! This is an ideal Mexican restaurant and I will most certainly be back with my friends! The atmosphere looked pleasant, and it looked as if they were ready to serve crowds with pagers and plenty of wait staff standing around. I came between lunch and dinner so it was quite. I ordered the 2 chimiconga meal to go. They were basically shedded chicken filled burritos (not fried as expected). I was a little disappointed by the chimiconga's not being fried but everything else was fresh and delicious. I especially love the packaging they used for to go's. Aluminum bowls with paper lids. 100% recyclable. Will try something else next time. read more

Brand new to Belleville. This place opened just recently on July 5th. I decided to stop in today because I was driving by and it was lunch time. They have the lunch specials posted on a chalkboard. At the top of the list was the huevos rancheros dish for 795. That's what I ordered. . The hostess told me the wait would be about 5 to 7 minutes that gave me time to ask some questions. She was very friendly and happy to share information about the restaurant. My food came out and from the feel of the bag it was piping hot. I was excited to try it It was delicious. I was reminded of a breakfast I had once in Cancun Mexico. It came with chips and salsa... good salsa too! I will be making plans to return soon. We ordered take out at El Agave. First the online menu is a mess. Hard to find dishes you like. Everything is charged separately like rice and bean which normally comes with the meal. The price was high for the food we received. The food was not that good. I ordered off the "House Specials" menu. I got flautas. As advertised I got 4 of them. Nothing else! They fit in a little container. That is a " house special?" Most of the food we could have made at home. No special flavors or ingredients. Honestly it tasted like microwaved frozen food. Lastly, we asked four extra sour cream and got extra salsa. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We're just not so sure what all the hype is about for the restaurant.... The decor inside is very adorable and colorful... and the staff was very nice. However, the food was just OK... nothing special at all. I found that the sauce on top of everything was a bit watery... which made the bread a bit rubbery.. other than that the food was basically tasteless .. even the beans and rice leaves very much left to be desired. The guacamole didn't really have flavor. Otherwise it was overrun by cilantro pieces that were huge. Margarita was a little on the strong side, but good. This is a one and done for us, unfortunately.. we were so excited to have a new place close to home... the search continues. We probably would've marked it 2 1/2 stars although that's not an option. read more

we each got a completely different dish and all was delicious. i got the talapia and they did not skimp. was seasoned so nice. The service was cheerful and spot on. the place is very nice to look at too. our margaritas seemed home made not from a syrupy mix. we drank every drop. Overall, very clean atmosphere and the food is delicious! I'm picky about guacamole and theirs gets a thumbs-up from me! Chips and salsa is very good with just the right amount of kick in the salsa. The rice is fabulous! The shredded beef enchiladas were fantastic! Portions are just right and the prices were fair.
