My father is from Chile and we are always looking for the "best" empanadas and these come the closest we can find anywhere around! We've tried all of their varieties but really the beef is best for us. Personally my favorite thing they sell is the bread.. Honestly I only come here for one item and that's a little sandwich called a 'churrasco'. It's made out of steakums, cheese, tomato, avocado, Mayo and it's all toasted on your fresh bread of choice. Other that that, I'm not much help. The only negative is they need more staff for busy hours. Same lady has been working there alone for years. read more

I was there many years back and I have to say that quality has being going down the drain. El pastel de Choclo was burned, Marraqueta (typical Chilean bread that looks liker the Portuguese roll) now does no even resemble that Chilean bread and the Portuguese roll that i get nearby taste/looks closer that what is being sold here. Cheese empanada had no cheese. Maybe the Chilean empanada was better than the rest Same with but still not even close to what it was. Same with the Churrasco (another typical Chilean sandwich). I'm half Chilean so I know what's good in terms of authentic Chilean foods. This is the real deal my people. The baker is an elderly man and he makes everything from scratch and fresh every morning. I pretty much recommend everything. Personally I love their cakes because they're not too sweet and the whipped cream is literally whipped and super soft and fluffy. They're a bit pricey about $25+ for the small cake but they're worth every penny. You pay for what you get huns. read more

From my favorite churrasco to the iconic chilean empanada, this bakery brings the food that I was brought up eating to the NJ. I have brought a few of my friends and I have yet to hear a negative remark. The best thing about it is that the ingredients and flavors are quite common, just ordered in a fashion that is uncommon to certain people. Best Chilean empanada in the Tri-state area! Before I continue allow me to tell you about all their empanadas, they are all baked and ginormous, literally the size of your (adult) hand. The empanadas de carne (beef) are consistently juicy ground beef made with chopped onions, raisins, olive and a piece of hard-boiled egg in each. The empanadas de pollo (chicken) are filled with shredded-like chicken that's also nice and juicy with onions and raisins. The empanadas de queso (cheese) are made from a flaky dough. This one can actually get a little messy when you bite into it because it's so crispy and flaky it'll leave crumbs all over the place as you pull the stringy cheese away from your mouth with each bite. Their classic Chilean desserts and bread are awesome and taste just like the ones I grew up eating in Chile. It's pricey compared to buying an empanada in Chile, but hey we're in the US so it's all good! read more

My spouse's family is Chilean, so I'm used to the way her family cooks, speaks, and acts. This place looks okay enough on the inside.... But the staff had a permanent sour puss on their faces when they were serving my in laws. Not very good customer service. They ordered a ton of baked goods when we were there. The pan was pretty good and the pastries were also pretty good, but they weren't the same. The alfajores had a lemony taste, as well as some of the others. So good taste, but not accurate. I recommend Marcela's Reposteria on Broadway for pastries and food instead. read more

I Took my wife for her to taste chilean empanadas since I visited the place a while ago and liked it. But this time was way different.starting with the "gurl" (guy) who was serving us once I asked him what part of Chile he was from, once I told him that I was his northern neighbor, he seemed to be getting buddered by my answer and at the time of paying when I was handing him my credit card he refused to grab it and asked me punch numbers of it digit by digit. Eventually he took but threw it and picked it up after showing how mad he was. My wife noticed it and does not want to come back anymore but the curious part was when she called him "culo ROTO" then I asked myself, wait a minute, then I explained her that the people from that part of the world are best known as Rotos. read more

I came to pick up a bunch of cocktail empanadas for a party. Honestly I think they are a bit overrated. The price is great and the empanadas are alright, but there is too much dough and not enough filling. The shortbread cookies are excellent though, so I highly recommend the sweets. read more
