Having dinner during rush-hour, it was busy, but the line was moving. I am on the hunt to find the best chocolate croissant in New York City, and although it may not have been the best croissant, I love the variety they have mini ones, raspberry pistachio, chantilly, Nutella and so many other pastries. I personally loved the mini one because sometimes I'd be eating too many croissants and I was able to eat this one guilt free. As well there was a decent amount of chocolate for a miniature, sometimes I don't even get that amount of chocolate in a regular size chocolate croissant. This location is right by Times Square and it's pretty large. There's a second floor where it's a bit of a loft and you can overlook down to the first floor. It's really cute. My friends and I randomly stumbled upon this bakery while looking for a sweet treat, and we were so pleasantly surprised! The espresso was delicious and made with love. They had the viral fruit pastries we've been seeing everywhere, and they were just as good as they look, fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. The bakery itself is so cute. I stopped in for a late night dessert and had to experience their hand rolled Bombolone, an Italian doughnut with different types of fillings. Outstanding. The dough was light and fluffy, and the filling silky and tasty. Being a sucker for great tiramisu, I couldn't skip it here either. It was excellent. Creamy mascarpone with espresso soaked ladyfingers, and a perfect amount of cocoa on top. Their selection is amazing: desserts, coffee, pastries, cakes, you name it. And it's not just sweets. Went in for a latte late in the day before we headed home and the lady was so nice i wish i got her name she made my latte to perfection and when i saw the treats i couldn't help but buy a bunch of different ones. We asked the server to heat it up for us. It's a good sized portion with ribbons of flaky pie like pastry on top. Other items that I thought were pretty good: an apricot preserves filled croissant and a savory rolly croissant sandwich with smoked salmon and cream cheese. We also got a plain donut with powdered sugar - nothing notable here. The pistachio croissant didn't quite meet expectations. It's visually stunning - as you bite into it, there are streaks of green dough running throughout. Ultimately, it's very heavy with a dense pistachio butter filling and the outside doesn't have much crunch/texture. Solid spot for savory pastries. Let me start off by saying no one loves a good baked treat more than I do so I thought I would order a dessert in on a cold rainy night on my trip to New York by DoorDash and when my order arrived, unfortunately it was not only completely home it was missing an item and had random extra items? I may do after attempting to call the shop and even after picking the talk to someone option, still being put through to a voicemail which was unfortunate to say the least we started off, trying the pistachio croissant, which was so overfilled with pistachio cream that it kind of exploded, which I found very offputting. It was overfilled still tried to the first the croissant pastry itself was delicious, flaky, buttery perfection, however, the ratio of filling two Pastry was way off, just too much filling it, overpowered the pastry and the entire dessert so that one was not for me. The second option was the strawberry croissant if this one was also unfortunately extremely overfilled with an OK tasting strawberry filling and unfortunately be outside strawberries while visually appealing or freeze dried so you didn't get any of that nice tart thingy flavor, which would definitely assist this croissant and not being cloyingly sweet last option was in the Nutella croissant. I didn't even try this one after the first two I just let my daughter try that one and she indicated that it of course, was extremely overfilled filling to pastry ratio again off and we didn't finish any of the large croissants we had ordered just too small. I don't remember the exact name. It was a cute niche name around donut items and for arrived. I only tried these small Chantilly filled croissant because that was originally my favorite part of the whole order was my larger. Chantilly filled croissant and it was delightful. It was a very nice bite. It tasted like a cream puff, which was really nice. I love cream puffs the ratio of pastry to filling is always nice. We passed this shop and saw the rolly in the window. We thought about stoping by for about a full day before we decided to give it a try. We come to NYC mostly for the food and where we spend our meals and treats matters! ;) The service was very friendly. We requested a chantilly cream and were told they were out for the day, but that the strawberry would be a good choice. It was. It was after 5pm, so I expected there to be a harder edge to the pastry, but it was still soft. The cream was concentrated in one area, so I'd recommend cutting it open before taking a bite. The shop is clean and there is a great selection of desserts. We came back the next morning for a Dubai Bombaloni and a strawberry choco iced latte. The bomboloni was very good, with a nice crunch to the filling. The latte was very large and super sweet, and had strawberry syrup that seemed to have real strawberries in it. I think it was a good quality drink, and the flavor was good, but it was too heavy for what we expected. Stopped in Angelina's for a quick sweet morning pick me up. As with most NY spots, it's tiny inside but seating is available towards the back and upstairs. Kiosks are available to help skip the line but they seem to be a little wonky. It took 3x to tap my card before someone came over and was able to reset it. I got the pistachio bombolone which was sweet and had a pistachio creme filling that reminded me a bit of Nutella. My only gripe was that I decided to walk with it leading to being covered in powdered sugar. The dough was light and fluffy. We drank the hot chocolate while it was still hot, but we had wanted to enjoy it alongside the tiramisu. After waiting about 15 minutes, we finally flagged down our waiter to ask about it. He apologized, said he forgot, and went to get it. When he came back, he brought a completely different pastry that looked like a maple bar and said they were out of tiramisu, but offered this one on the house. While I appreciate the gesture, the whole experience left us feeling overlooked. Both of the pastries we originally wanted were unavailable, our dessert was forgotten, and when it finally came, it wasn't even something we were asked about. We would've appreciated the chance to choose something else instead of having it decided for us. Overall, we left disappointed.
