I called and reserved a very specific lens. I called back a week later to confirm the rental and they had no idea. So I made a second reservation. The day of the pick up, it wasn't available because it was rented out and they had me down for the following week. I spent three hours, all of which was on the clock, tracking down the same lens in ShareGrid. I Didn't get all the shots I needed and it cost me an extra few hundred dollars last minute. I sent them a follow up emails, stating this, and they didn't bother to respond. I'm 1/2 a mile away from them and would've rented from them continuously, but not after this mess up. I was tasked with securing equipment and learning how to shoot/e-mail an HD video for a work project. I can't tell you how stressed I was because I'm the least tech-oriented person in the world. I found Los Angeles Camera Rentals on good 'ol trusted Yelp! On the same day, I picked up an HD video camera, got the most patient tutorial from Federico and was on the my way. His rate was incredibly reasonable and affordable which my colleagues and I were so grateful for. Federico really went above and beyond to help me out. He threw in the tripod, camera bag, tripod bag, SD card and reader, etc., etc., to help me overcome my low tech IQ. If anyone ever leaves this company less than 5 stars, trust me they are a competitor. Like one of the reviews mentioned, don't bother looking anywhere else for lens rental. It doesn't get any better than the level of service you will receive from Federico. I was visiting LA and needed a 70-200 Canon lens, for a last minute Safari trip in San Diego. I needed to pick up Friday and drop off Sunday but all the places I looked up where closed on Sunday. The few that I found that were opened for rental returns on Sunday, wanted a $2,000 deposit. On top of the lens rental fee,which is absolutely obscured!! I came across Los Angeles Camera Rentals and saw all of the great reviews. I gave them a call and Federico answered. I advised him I was needing a 70-200 lens, to return on Sunday and asked about the deposit requirement. He advised there was no deposit required but mentioned he didn't have a 70-200 available. He did mention that he had a 100-400 IS lens available. I didn't even think of other options but when he mentioned it, I knew that would be perfect. He quoted me the best price ever and advised me that it was available for pick-up right away. He had me text him my info and what time I would be there. Arrived to the studio a hour later and got the lens within 5 minutes. After filing out the paperwork and giving my credit card. When I was returning on Sunday. I text him to let him know that I would be arriving at 5pm, to drop off the lens. He advised me that he would be there. Traffic wasn't as bad as I thought and I actually wound up getting there a little early, at 4. I didn't get a chance to text him to advise that I would be arriving a hour early. He wasn't there, so I text him apologizing for not letting him know I would be arriving early. He text me right back to advise me that he was around the corner having coffee and would leave to head back to the studio. I felt kind of bad because I interrupted his free time. He went above and beyond, providing superb service. It was almost a surreal experience, for how smoothly everything went. This guy is a class act. If you live in LA and aren't renting from this company, your absolutely crazy. Granted the equipment you need is available of course. There is no better place in LA to rent from. Truly a HASSLE free experience. It's hard to come across business and people of this magnitude. Sometimes i get last minute shoots at odd hours on weekends and this guy always comes through to make sure I get what I need and if he doesn't have it he always has great alternative options.
