Our favorite Mexican restaurant was closed, so we decided to try Chico's and I'm really glad we did. When we walked in, an older woman greeted us right away with the sweetest smile and seated us immediately. She ended up being our hostess and was so kind and attentive the whole time. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good variety and the prices are very reasonable, especially for how much food you get. I'll admit I was a little unsure when I saw queso wasn't complimentary, because sometimes when you pay for it, it's not that great, can tell it's made with velveeta. But we ordered the large anyway and it was actually really good. The salsa was just right too, not too mild but not overly spicy. I ordered the enchilada platter and wasn't sure how I'd feel about the red sauce, so I also got a beef chimichanga on the side just in case I did not like the red sauce. Both were really good, and the chimichanga was way bigger than I expected, honestly a full meal by itself. My daughter got the Cowboy Quesadilla and said it was the best one she's had in a while. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and really liked them, his only comment was that the steak pieces were a little thin. Overall, everything was great. The food, the service, and just how genuinely kind our hostess was really stood out. We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. read more

It was a night out with the girls, so we chose Chico's. It was a Thursday night and we got sat immediately. Although we did not partake, they do offer a pitcher of margaritas. I had the burrito Hawaiian and it was delicious. I will be back for it, just note some might find it a touch spicy. My girlfriends all enjoyed their meals. I was disappointed in the fried ice cream, I thought the ice cream could have been a better quality and if you don't like coconut do not order because the crust includes it. read more

Normally I can't say enough, praising the food , service, and ambience. Today, not so much! Yesterday we ordered takeout shortly after 11 a.m.! We ordered 4 tamales and a chimichanga dinner to go, picked it up and came home. I was Hungary and excitedly opened my chimichanga dinner. A big white clump surrounded by rice and beans. I like the chimichangas because the are fried,crispy ,crunchy, oh so good! Not mine, never touched the grease!!! JUST A BIG WHITE CLUMP! My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner. The menu is quite large. I ordered the chicken fajita taco salad. The ingredients tasted great. Due to the bell peppers, the taco shell got soggy quick. That did not necessarily bother me because I never eat the whole taco. My husband had the Plato Mexicano. The portions were a good size. I've heard mixed reviews about this place so I was excited to try it for myself. First impression easy access from15th street. Once you enter it's a spacious open restaurant. We were seated quickly and our waiter was alittle impatient and watching the door. I didn't understand his impatience. I'm a quick order but my husband takes alittle longer and I think he was kinda short. We received our food at separate times which was okay both our meals was hot. The salsa was kinda spicy and the chips pretty good. Overall my enchiladas were good and my husband happy with the burritos. I'd return and hopefully have a nicer server. read more

If you could do a minus sign, I would give this place a minus 5. First, the chips were tasteless as was the salsa. When those 2 items are terrible, it should have been a clue. I ordered 2 cheese enchilada's with Chili Sauce. They don't have Chili Sauce (?) They suggested trying the red sauce on the side...I agreed. When they brought my food, I almost gagged. The "cheese" enchiladas looked as though they had white gravy inside and it had run all over the plate...they were uncovered because of the lack of Chili Sauce and the red sauce in a cup looked like tomato soup. I couldn't eat more than a bite after seeing the "enchilada's" . I would recommend you try Chuy's...they're delicious, EVERY time. We were both very disappointed. read more

Positives: Love the salsa and loved the chicken tortilla soup! The soup has chicken, rice, carrots, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, and other veggies in it. Much better than your average chicken tortilla soup. My dad loved the enchiladas saying their sauce was better than other restaurants. Negatives: Service was lacking in our server was not very proactive. She never offered or brought us water or asked if we wanted a refill or another drink. We had to ask for small plates for when we were eating our appetizer of queso and guacamole. The blanco queso tasted good, but is runny, so plates are necessary. We had to ask for more chips when we had about 5 chips left and a ton of queso and guacamole left to eat. Our server should have brought more chips when she served our appetizer. read more

We ate an early dinner here. Not impressed with food or service. You get chips and salsa free, but you have to pay for cheese dip. $5.99 for a small bowl is a bit pricey, I think. There is not even a happy hour! Will not return. read more

Love Chico's food but I'm tired of how they nickel and dime you especially with to go orders. They give you almost no salsa, we always end up having to order more. A family sized meal should include an appropriate amount of salsa. Same with tortillas, they always try to charge me extra. read more

This restaurant just opened this past week. I thought it works be worth a try. I have mixed feelings, on one hand they might have one of the best Coctel de Camaron aka Shrimp Cocktail that I've tasted. The Guacamole Casero was fine. It was chunkier than I like but a quick mix at the table got it to the consistency that I prefer. My wife choose the Single Fajitas 1/2 chicken 1/2 beef. In my opinion it lacked seasoning otherwise it may have been a great dish! The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We went to Chicos in Oklahoma City yesterday. It was a nice restaurant. The white staff was really good. I found the menu has changed drastically. We had a brand new waitress who had no idea what they did and did not have as far as I could tell they no longer have yellow cheese just white queso. Food was better than I expected. Last time we got there. It wasn't very good. Of course that was in Lawton before it closed. The prices are still a little high, but isn't right now Nice to go in and sit down and just rest and have a meal and not feel rushed for lunch meal. It's pretty light in there, but I don't know if I would call this romantic for a dinner. If you have kids that might be different but for a couple no it depends , I will definitely check out though and see what you think read more

We ate at Chico's today for the first time and it certainly won't be the last. I ordered the chicken fajitas and my husband had enchiladas with green sauce. Both were excellent - flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The salsa was really good with just the right amount of heat. We had excellent service, and truly enjoyed our lunch. OMG. Absolutely nothing negative to say. The frozen margarita was the perfect combination of cold but drinkable (and NO BRAIN FREEZE!!!), the salsa and queso were so good we asked for more chips, and everyone enjoyed their entrees. The server was a little eager to take our order so we had to repeatedly ask for more time, but that's a positive not a negative. There's plenty of room between tables and booths making navigating the restaurant easy. Add to that the Scan to Pay at the end and we're in love. This is easily the best Tex-Mex we've had in Oklahoma, and I see this becoming a place we hit up on the regular. So excited since this is the one thing (really good Mexican food) we haven't been able to find since moving here from Houston. Recommendation for those who like a little spice: mix the spicy sauce that comes with the street tacos in with a bowl of salsa. It's the perfect balance of fresh salsa with a little heat! read more

Our particular server was extremely attentive. A couple things that don't take away from the five stars: Three employees/servers sitting on their phones in booths. Our server was back there chatting when we were ready to pay for the check. She couldn't see us over all the tall booths so we did have to sort of get her attention to let her know we were ready to pay. Booths were uncomfortable. Sit up very straight and tall. We came here for the first time the service was ok. They were just sitting at the bar on their phones. The food well let's just say I have had better. We tried their famous fajitas and they had no flavor. The rice and beans as well needed more flavor. The cheese sauce that we had to pay extra for tasted like it was out of a can. This is a family run business. The owners are there making sure everything is perfect! They care about quality and it shows. Food comes out quickly. We've never had a bad meal here, but I didn't care for the fried ice cream. We've had a couple of orders come out wrong and it was immediately corrected each time. The hours on Apple Maps says they close at 10 but that is not true got here at 8:53pm and it was closing in less than 10 minutes.

This should honestly be more of a 4.5 than a 4.0, but Yelp won't let me do this any differently. We had dinner here for the first time and everything was wonderful! I had the Pollo Santa Fe and added a fried egg to that. My husband had a dish that was in the same section of the menu and it has steak, chicken, and shrimp, but I forget the name of it. Something Jalisco maybe? We both LOVED our dishes. I really like the fact that they use thin chicken breast instead of the thick stuff that some places don't cook long enough. Everything was cooked to perfection. The rice and beans were also good. The only semi negative for this place was my frozen strawberry margarita. I did not care for the taste of the alcohol they used, but that was literally it. Service was phenomenal and very fast. Flavors were on point. Everything was cooked properly. Staff were professional and friendly. The decor in here is awesome. They have a beautiful fireplace and a really nicely decorated tree. They ambience was just great. What are you waiting for? Chico's is the Mexican restaurant I have been waiting for in the Edmond area! The inside is very clean and orderly. We were promptly greeted by the host and seated immediately. Chips and salsa were brought to the table along with waters. The salsa was fresh and flavorful. As a cilantro lover I really enjoyed the salsa. My husband, who is not so fond of the flavor found the pieces large enough to dip around. I ordered the shredded chicken chimichanga and he had the Chicos Fajitas. We were in disbelief at how quickly the food was prepared and served, and by no means was the place empty! Both dishes were some of the tastiest we have had in the area! The chimichanga chicken was tender and juicy, cooked down with some onions and bell peppers giving it that extra little something. The fajitas were top notch! I don't know if it was because the meats were cooked with the chorizo, but I can't say enough about how well seasoned and flavored they were! We started eating and enjoying so quickly that I failed to capture a quality photo. That's ok because we will be back soon to hopefully enjoy some delicious margaritas with our meal (they are still waiting on their liquor license at this time, said they should have it in two days). Living in Edmond, we have been to Chico's many times. The food and drinks are consistently great. I usually order the make-your-own combo with a cheese enchilada and a chili relleno. So good! Don't want to go out on a limb here because Edmond has many excellent Mexican food restaurants but Chico's seems to be the best and I would venture to say maybe best Mexican food I've ever had, not just in Edmond. read more

For an Oklahoma Mexican food restaurant they are actually pretty good. The place is very consistent with food and service. We've always had good experience with this place and everyone is always very friendly. Appreciate that they always make us feel welcome and the food always seems to be really good even when we ask for a minor change. We probably eaten here at least five or six times and it's a common place we like to eat if we ever feel like Mexican food. Of course my kids always just wanna eat chips and queso, but they do have a really good menu and offer a lot of different choices. The salsa was a little chunky for my tastes but the flavor was fine. I found it a little odd that not all of the meals come with sides. Some come with beans and rice, others with nothing. In the middle of a sea of Tex-Mex restaurants I expect my beans and rice. But, honestly, my burrito was so big I didn't need any more food. Anyway, give it a whirl. Below average. Nothing special. Carne Asada was two small pieces. Cops and salsa were poor.

Really good Tex Mex and good service, we will be back again for sure. Glad that we tried it.
