I waited way too long to try Los Bandoleros. The customer service, the food, and the hot sauce did not disappoint. The girl behind the register was very friendly and helpful. The food is extremely fresh. My tacos and the chips and salsa were so good! I am very excited that there is a new tasty Mexican restaurant nearby. We will definitely become regulars.

Absolutely love this place! Greasy tasting delicious food and friendly atmosphere! Restaurant is SUPER clean. I've had the Birria tacos for $14.99 both times and it was fresh and delicious.

This place is an absolute banger. Go for the birria tacos...they are the most mouthwatering and savory tacos you'll ever have. Staff is above and beyond exceptional, and are genuinely interested in your experience. Prices are a little higher than your typical taco place, but the level of enjoyment I get out of eating their tacos and tostones is absolutely worth it for me. Stop on by and support this new business. They deserve it.

This was a great addition to the plaza! The food is extremely fresh with great flavors! It's nice to not have to drive down to Homestead to get good quality Mexican food. I've had a lot of nachos in my day, and these are probably my favorite of all time! I Never was expecting so much flavor to be jampacked into such a dish! We will definitely be returning soon, and we hope this place lasts for a very long time!!

Really great spot for a good (and i mean GOOD!), filling, huge, and inexpensive meal. It was our first time here so we kind of over-ordered just to try different things and everything was FANTASTIC!. The food was fresh, great quality, and delicious. The birria tacos are amazing, the tostada is enough to share with 4 people, the Mexican potatoes is like a loaded nachos (on steroids) but with fries instead of tortilla chips, and a must if you like cheese sauce. The cheese sauce to fries ratio was about 1:1 and there were lots of fries! This is another appetizer that can be shared with 6 to 8 people (seriously!). The quesadillas was LOADED with chicken and my son LOVED it. We also got a burrito bowl and it was enough to probably feed a basketball team. The owner was very nice and welcoming. She was also the one preparing all the food. If you are craving Mexican food or don't know what to eat and you are hungry, definitely come check this place out.

Shrimp tacos. Small portion for $15. Shrimp were tasty but overall underwhelmed.

The cashier was knowledgeable and answered all our questions, but I think the food is overpriced for what turned out to be just a mediocre meal. I ordered the chicken burrito and again, it was just OK. There are better, more authentic choices in the area.

Wow!!! Authentic and amazingly delicious Mexican food. What an awesome surprise to find this spot in Palmetto Bay!! Will definitely be back.

Amazing customer service. The gentleman who took our order was super nice and friendly. Clean and cozy spot. Best birria tacos ever.

Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.

Mauricio was at the bar and we definitely missed being under his attention by not sitting there. Eliezer (the Venezuelan waiter from Mérida) took care of us in the dining room. Both are always very friendly and attentive. This time we decided to sit in the dining room because we were a group of three and had a lot to talk about. The place has 4 TVs and we were able to enjoy the France vs Spain match. We all ordered La Tropical Draft beer, a light, smooth, and very refreshing blonde. In total we had 16 beers . We shared nachos with grilled steak, which were very good (they pour the melted cheese right at the table). We also ordered tripa tacos well toasted (that's the technique) as we requested, and they came out excellent. Note: They have different promotions or offers depending on the day, not a regular happy hour variety, so it's good to be aware of that. The restaurant offers a good variety of 8 salsas: Sirloin, Chips, Guacamole, Verde, Vicente, Pastor, Chilanga, and Asada. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, and tasty food. We'll definitely keep coming back.

The hardest part about dining here was deciding what I wanted to order. I could have ordered the entire menu it looked so good! Helpful tip... check out the menu and know what you're going to order before you get in line. Otherwise you're going to be pressured to order at the front of the line. When you walk in, you place your order and pay for it and take a table number. You need to find your own table. Our service was pretty quick, despite how busy the restaurant was. My cold brew was very good and a nice start to the meal. Our guacamole came next and it was nicely styled with pomegranate, cheese and cilantro on top. Yum! The real star of the show for me was this unassuming looking House Club Sandwich that was to die for. Seriously ... it was so good. I ordered mine without the ham, and it was divine! I wish i lived closer. I'm already dreaming of coming back. My son ordered some kind of short rib/beef burrito and it disappeared so quickly I didn't even get to snap a photo. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal, I highly recommend it. One thing I can say is that it's on the pricey side. $113 lunch for 2 added up super fast but it was well worth it. I'll be dreaming of that sandwich til my next visit!

Online it shows the quesadilla is $13, when I ordered it was $14 + 2.50 for onions and tomatoes (which ended up coming on the side). Also, when I asked to order that, the waitress was a bit rude. So I ended up paying $17.82 for a terrible quesadilla and experience. I really liked the horchata matcha though (hence the 2 stars).

What an amazing meal…read more Dropped in for dinner and was so impressed. The roasted chicken is big enough to share. It's seasoned exceptionally well and comes with a side of tortillas. The enchiladas are also delicious. Again, a good size to share. We started off with some guac that was super solid. The space itself is really nice and has the perfect vibe for the Grove. Feels upscale while being super chill. Dress code is lax and it's about chilling and enjoying a great meal and maybe some adult beverages. So many things on the menu I want to try. Hope to be back next time I visit.

I've been going to Koko since it opened, and until now I've always had great experiences…read more Unfortunately, my recent visit during the Mexico World Cup match was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Before going, we called the restaurant to ask if they would be showing the World Cup games, and we were told they would be showing all of them. Based on that, we expected a good viewing experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. There aren't enough TVs, many of the views are obstructed, and we actually had to move to the bar just to see part of the game. Even then, the music was so loud that we couldn't hear the match at all. When we asked the manager about it, he told us that ownership's instructions were to play music instead of the game's audio. That was especially surprising considering this is a Mexican-owned restaurant and the match was a Mexico World Cup game. The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. To be fair, the restaurant was only about half full, so this wasn't a situation where the staff was overwhelmed by a packed house or unusually heavy demand. I was there with two female friends. I ordered a martini while my friends simply asked for water. The bartender reacted as if asking for water was somehow an inconvenience. We weren't even served chips and salsa until we repeatedly waved down members of the staff and specifically requested them. The bartenders consistently ignored us. My friends waited nearly 20 minutes before anyone came back so they could order their martinis. We later ordered guacamole and the Leña skirt steak. The guacamole arrived promptly, but the steak never did. When we asked another bartender to check on it, he looked in the system and told us there was no food order entered at all. This was unbelievable because the original bartender had described the dish, asked how we wanted the steak cooked, and appeared to take the order. He simply never entered it. When we complained to the manager about the missing food, he told us the kitchen was already closed but that he would "make an exception" and have the steak prepared for us. That response really upset me because this wasn't us asking for special treatment--it was the restaurant trying to correct its own mistake. I told him to simply cancel the order. He then said not to worry because he wouldn't charge us for it, as if not charging for a meal would somehow make up for the experience we had just endured. I declined the offer, but he responded by saying he would bring it anyway and that if we didn't want it, we could just leave it there. To me, that response was even more dismissive and completely missed the point. Throughout the evening, the bartenders were inattentive, dismissive, and consistently rude. Their attitude completely overshadowed what had always been one of my favorite restaurants in Coconut Grove. By halftime, we had simply had enough. Instead of continuing what should have been a fun night, we decided to leave the restaurant and go home, where we watched the rest of the Mexico match in the comfort of my home. Sadly, that turned out to be the best part of the night. I'm writing this review because I know Koko is capable of much better. My previous visits have always been enjoyable, which made this experience even more disappointing. However, if you're planning to watch a World Cup match there, I would strongly recommend choosing another venue. While they may tell you they'll be showing the game, the viewing experience is poor, the game audio is replaced with loud music, and based on our visit, the service was, without question, the worst I've experienced there since the restaurant opened. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because Koko has always been one of my favorite restaurants, and I'd like to be able to recommend it again. Unfortunately, after this experience, I simply can't.

From the moment we arrived, we were seated immediately. Our server, Francisco, was exceptional, and Exantus, the server assistant, was equally impressive. They worked together like a well-oiled machine. Exantus constantly made sure our table was cleared of empty plates and glasses, and he kept the table dry by wiping away the condensation from our drinks. With the Miami heat, that little extra attention made a big difference. Francisco provided outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. The server was phenomenal, and the food tasted great, though portions run a little small for the price. One thing that caught me off guard: most of the table ordered tacos and enchiladas, but when the plates arrived, the "tacos" were essentially flautas and the "enchiladas" were more like tacos (the photo shown is the enchiladas). Naming aside, both dishes were delicious. We were also celebrating a birthday, and the staff sang for her and brought out a complimentary dessert--hands down the best brownie dessert I've ever had. The drinks were good, the food came out hot, and the ambiance was wonderful, with friendly, kind staff throughout. What did we order? Chorizo Queso: Not your traditional dipping queso, but FULL of flavor and the chorizo was great, decent portion. The table loved this. Comes with some warm fresh purple corn tortillas! 9/10 Guacamole: Nothing extraordinary, standard guac, I wish there was more guac and chips! The tortillas these come with are the same as the queso but fried and uncut. A little different but it was a nice change! 7/10 Chicken and Chorizo Enchiladas: Not your standard enchilada that you may be used to! Full of flavor though and everything was cooked very well! 8/10! The menu said that they had alcohol, but apparently not on that week, supposedly for some bureaucratic issue. The tacos were served with just the tortilla and the meat, along with a basket of fixings, such as cilantro and line.
