I had a frozen strawberry margarita and we split chicken mole enchiladas and chicken taquitos. The mole was satisfying and peanut butter forward and the taquitos were crispy. This isn't necessarily gourmet food - but it is hearty and satisfying and there is a place for that! Los Cabos is not a bad spot! I found the service to be good. We were promptly seated upon arrival. Once food was ordered, it didn't take long to come out, and our server was very friendly. The restaurant feels a bit dated (there are ads under the tables for businesses that no longer exist), but it's pretty aligned with what you would expect from a family Mexican restaurant. I found it to be clean. I enjoyed my taco salad with shredded beef. The flavor and texture was perfect! My husband's combo plate with a taco and two enchiladas were also very good. Note: There is only one entrance to this restaurant, and you can't access it from Bendigo Blvd or the Safeway shopping center. We were not asked what we wanted to drink. We were only brought water. We were given 2 menus for 4 people. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and was served a tortilla with chicken, no cheese, not grilled. The oil needs to be changed in the fryer. You can taste it on the chicken tenders. We were quite hungry after a long day of hiking and climbing in the rain. We arrived between the lunch and dinner hours so the restaurant seemed a bit short staffed. It wasn't very busy, we were able to be seated right away. Chips and red salsa arrived right after we sat, the chips were churchy, not over salted or greasy! The salsa was a bit tasteless for me, only heat so we asked for green salsa and unfortunately that was not very good. The seafood sea I ordered was perfect! The taste, not too hot add the lime and onion with a few sprinkles of chili was perfect! The rice was some of the best I have had in a long time and the beans were good. The textures of meat was tender and juicy. We had an awesome host who checked on us but for the most part kept her distance. The table was clean, the seats are in good shape! First time customer at this restaurant and pretty disappointing to say the least. First impressions say the most about a person, about a location, about a business or restaurant. Service was terrible, from the Latina hostess/waitress. She didn't bring silverware, plates, or napkins. The 4 of us had to ask another server to bring them for us... Secondly, the alcoholic drinks made from the bar were pretty bad. 2 of us ordered Mojitos and they tasted a bit sour and warm. Not the Mojitos that I am used to. So, we asked the Latina server to change them to Margaritas instead. It tasted warm initially and not that refreshing, either. We let the ice melt and then it tasted somewhat better. But you expect a whole lot more from a Mexican restaurant that specializes in Margaritas and Mojitos, no? Thirdly, the food... The complimentary chips and salsa were simply OK. The chips we first got were kind of stale and the salsa was bland. Didn't taste fresh. When we got a second batch of chips, it tasted much better, but the spicy salsa wasn't spicy and it was also tasting old. We also ordered Ceviche, which was actually pretty tasty. Then we also got Chicken Quesadillas, Trio Fajitas and Spicy Camarones. Let's just say that it was the worst tasting Quesadilla I have ever tried! The tortilla was very soggy, the cheese had no flavor and barely tasted any chicken inside. Not the quesadillas I am used to having from a Mexican restaurant. I have had SO much better at places like Guapos, Uncle Julios, and other Mexican joints. Not sure what happened, but tasted 1 piece and couldn't eat the rest. The Trio Fajitas were alright. Now the Camarones on the other hand were VERY salty! Even the rice. Not edible at all. So, we basically threw away most of our money on very bad food. If you want to compare your food and service against other restaurant businesses, check out Ascend and Daniel's Broiler reviews. Now that's called premium customer service and excellent quality food and drinks! As a customer, being totally honest to whomever the business owner is, time to replace the bartender, chef and hostess. The best experience and service we got was from the Caucasian waitress who gave us excellent service and provided great attention. She helped us get silverware, plates, more chips and salsa and napkins. The best hire the restaurant did! If you do not want Gordon Ramsay to come and pick apart your restaurant and improve it greatly, it is simply time to make a drastic change on all aspects of the business. This is my first time at this restaurant and I've just eaten all I can possibly eat of the very hearty Tortilla Soup I ordered. The broth is just about perfect and there is enough chicken and other ingredients that make this soup a full meal all on its own. Now let me tell you why I picked up my phone to write this review and why I will return: There is joy here. It's lunch time and there were not many diners here when I arrived. I was greeted warmly and sat at a table socially distant from other tables without asking. Other diners are trickling in and I am listening to them be welcomed and seated. One man keeps singing, "Good morning sunshine!" To each of his customers with a genuine warmth. I hear him joking and singing with fellow employees and customers alike. There is a lot of laughter here, and I'm here for it! The woman that brought me my meal has a warmth to her that makes her feel like a friend, even more so when she cracks a joke. All this joy feels truly genuine. It's not a customer service, placating smile and words, it's an honest to goodness joy that comes from good people that are enjoying what they are doing, if only in this very moment. The smiles behind their masks shine bright in these dark times. They are happy to be here and I am truly happy to be their customer. I'll go more into the food on my next visit, but it is the atmosphere that has filled me, even more than my meal on this visit. read more

I ordered some take out while across the street at Starbucks and it was done by the time I got over there (they said about ten minutes) and I got the lunch cheese enchiladas with rice as take out. Food is pretty americanized...not authentic mexican or even close to. Think of taco bell but with a much higher price tag. A lot of dishes were $20 a plate. To be honest, this place was a complete disappointment. The waitresses that took our order to go were slightly enthusiastic, and did not care about the quality of our food. The good thing about going to rural areas is that food is noticeably cheaper. This place may seem like an ordinary Mexican diner, but if you order the lunch specials, you'll find that they serve good food without charging too much for it. And isn't that really what going to restaurants is all about? You can't lose with that combination. To start off, the waiter was friendly and referred to me as "amigo." The food was quite filling; I thought I was just ordering a seafood burrito, but they totally piled on the avocado, sour cream, and diced tomatoes. To the side were beans and rice, and within the burrito itself were a lot of little shrimp. For my modest lunch, I wasn't expecting them to go all out, but they exceeded my expectations. This is one of my favorite places to come for food after hiking around I-90. It's really close to highway and it's far enough from the city so it doesn't get too busy. Also, it's good to stop by for food right after you get off the trail and feel like a hungry beast, rather than having to wait for getting all the way back to Eastside or Seattle. This place is cheap but the food is absolutely delicious and the low price doesn't affect the tastiness and freshness at all! :-) read more
