I found the place through Yelp. Phenomenal food - authentic, homemade, delicious. Staff are so friendly.

Was looking for something to fulfill Taco Tuesday... found this by accident. We stopped in it was 8pm. Was a bit worried because the place was empty, but decided to give it a shot. Glad we stopped. The food was delicious! It has Mexican food options and Guatemalan food options. Portions were pretty hefty. The tortillas that are given with dinner were homemade, but the tortillas that are used for the tacos are not. But it was ok it was still yummy.

After spending 40 minutes on yelp trying to figure out where to get a late dinner, Los Chapines Tortilleria piqued my interest. While it was a risk to try a new eatery 20 minutes before they closed, I took the chance, called them and asked if it was okay to order, the friendly voice on the other end said "of course, we don't close until 9:30". After getting a few questions answered and learning the difference between a standard tamale and a Guatemalan tamale, I dashed over to pickup my food. After I chatted with the gentleman for a few minutes about how long they'd been open (since 2020) and how business was going (slowly improving) I headed home with my surprisingly heavy, steaming, well packaged order. I opened the bags to some of the tastiest pastor tacos I've ever had. Tender, flavorful, fresh and the green and red sauce, though a little thin, complemented the juicy meat perfectly. The tamale, while flavorful and beautiful wrapped in the banana leaf, was not my favorite texturally. The portion size was like 2-3 regular tamales. So, pretty hefty. Can't wait to head back and try more food. Price was very reasonable, excellent service and food was hot and fresh, even though I ordered right before closing, which is something that I'm not trying to make a habit. Anyway, please go here, order the pastor tacos and thank me later!!

Other locations Ice cream and service were not even close. My favorite thing here are the paletas (Mexican ice cream bar) specifically the one with mixed fruit. It has such a nice creamy, sweet milk base flavor and then you get the burst of fruit. I've tried the Ferrero rocher, Oreo, and other fruit flavors which were all yummy and true to their flavor names but the mixed fruit one is my go to. The staff here have always been great. I am not familiar with Latin American flavors/fruits and on multiple occasions, staff was very patient answering questions about different fruits or flavors of ice cream and even giving me a taste. On one occasion one of my kids had mentioned something about a green slushy and when we went to pay she gave him a small cup to try. They also are quite generous with the amount of ice cream they serve. They also have a large selection of dairy free paletas. I did not try one but a bunch in our group who are dairy free, raved about how smooth they were (as no dairy) and how strong the fruit flavor was. The mango was a very big hit. There is a reason why there is always a line here. If you have never tried paletas before you must try them and this is the location to try it from.

The first girl who assured me was a red/orange head that looked like she didn't know what shake I was talking about as I directly pointed to the photo displayed which was the P&B Chocolate Cookie Duo. 2 minutes later she asked me again what shake did I want and proceeded to tell her the same shake and pointing to the photo displayed which again. As she was making our shake another girl approached me, don't remember her name but started with an M, asking if we needed anything else and told her I wanted a medium Oreo pretzel perfection. After she made my ice cream I thought she would help check us out instead put my ice cream in the freezer as we waited for our shake to be done being made. We waited around I kid you not 15 minutes to be helped checked out. All of their workers decided to help on the line making ice cream or hid in the back or helped delivery drivers instead of being on the register. Once we got our shake another worker helped, Yuly, and asked if the shake was the only thing we had and I stated we also had a medium ice cream. We paid, took our shake, and started assisting the next party behind us instead of giving me my ice cream so I waited an additional 5 minutes. No apologies were said from any of the workers as if the only thing they cared about was making the orders getting rid of the line but how are you going to get rid of a line if no one is literally on register checking guests out? There are a team of 6-8 of your girls and you're telling me to run a smooth rush is all of you helping on the line?? Waiting to be checked out for 15 minutes is totally unacceptable. I hope they realize that this is not how this situation should be handled. I work at fast food myself and when I have a team I make sure someone is available at each station. I don't need 6-8 people doing a one person job. Unbelievable.
