Awesome place, great service, great food, good portions! Frequently go there. They always know what we order.

Came here on a random Sunday at the peak of luncheon was luckily seated immediately. It's located in a large strip mall so there's lots of parking. The menu is pretty straightforward and service was pretty utilitarian as well. However, food did come out quickly. Unfortunately, the French toast came out at room temperature at best, and the syrup that was brought to the table before hand had already had a solidified top part. So it wasn't warm at all it in fact was cold. They're also very quick to clean tables and remove things from the table. In fact, my friend was still picking at her salad and they literally came by four times to try to take it away. I think this place is family owned small business type set up so it was great to see it busy and filled. I said service was utilitarian because I think we saw our waitress maybe twice all other things were done by the bus boys for refilling waters and coffees, etc. read more

We just love this little cozy cafe. We bring our kids, they color and do word puzzles on the kids menu until we have our food. The wait staff is amazing and treats you like family from day 1. We like to get there early when it's not too crowded but even when it's busy, they tend to your every need and turn tables around quickly so there is never a long wait. Truly a gem. I ordered their smoked salmon Benedict, which I think they only serve during certain times of year. I'm very pleased with the food. The salmon had a pleasant, smokey scent and was quite delicate. I am revising my review to my experience the saturday before Christmas. I ordered the upcharge of tortilla soup with my lunch. It was nothing like it was a few years back. It was verrry thick, very spicy. When waitress, Barbara, returned with the strips for the soup she forgot, I told her I was unable to eat it. She took it back and brought me fries. Receiving my check I noted she did not remove the upcharge for the soup when I asked her to bring me a correct check she grabbed it, huffed, mumbling to herself and stormed away. Me and the others at my table, who were on a separate check, were dumbfounded. When she returned I calmly said, you have a problem with getting me a new check?!! She gave me a dirty look and again huffed mumbling away. I've come often in 17 years and always had good experiences until now!! (I.e very tall waiter, excellent). This was a bad experience and I wanted her to explain what the problem was and instead her huffing off for the 2nd time, made the bad experience worse. Doubt I'll be back. read more

Checked out Jelly Cafe the other weekend. Upon entering, the place was packed, but I was solo and they did have some tables available right away. This place is super popular on the weekends and there were a lot of large groups including a little league team and a family with some very unhappy children. This made for a loud atmosphere, but the servers did their best to keep everything under control. Although this wouldn't be my preference, the overall experience was still good. Luckily, the family with the screaming kids left shortly after I arrived and the little league team had adults supervising who reminded them to use inside voices. Onto the food. The steak and eggs dish was reasonably priced ($18) and came with potatoes and french toast. The server warned me that the steak was a thinner skirt steak and probably wouldn't be medium rare. She was correct, but it was still well flavored and tender overall. The eggs were really tasty. The yolks were delish, and I'm not usually a yolk person. The french toast was also tasty and well seasoned, just the right combo of creamy and crisp. The potatoes looked like they would be bland, but they actually had a ton of flavor. The unsweetened iced tea was great too, nice and strong. Despite the rush, servers checked in frequently and were very helpful. I would definitely return in the future. read more

Right off the bat it has nice interior. Very bright, lots of wood and flowers. And a huge jelly sign at the back. Service was good. Woman was very kind and reassuring to getting our dishes delivered to us asap. Asked me many questions and made sure we were okay. Their menu is very cheap, and they have many good options so it was difficult to choose from. The servings were pretty small for the steaks. Probably explains why their prices are so low. The food was alright. I would come back once and a while but it doesn't beat my favorite breakfast place. It is kind of small. But their food isn't bad. To be honest, I would reccomend coming here. Can't believe the last time I reviewed this place was over 3 years ago!! Jelly Cafe still does, in fact, rate 5/5 stars. I can never get enough of this place. Their breakfast and lunch dishes are always so yummy and never disappoint. It's so hard to pinpoint what's particularly exceptional here because I've never had a meal I didn't like at Jelly Cafe. I personally love the hearty havarti skillet and their almond berry French toast. All their paninis are a hit, too. Come here for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! I initially thought of rating Jelly Cafe with 1 star due to its food, but I decided to give it 3 due to its service. We had a really attentive, kind, and considerate waitress. She checked on us frequently and repeatedly, and while it was a busy and chaotic morning, we never felt rushed. However, the food is average at best. I was extremely disappointed given its lack of flavor. I've never had more bland food in my lifetime. We ordered the classic eggs Benedict and a spinach and feta cheese omelette, all of which tasted like air. The only decent thing was the pancakes. Menu looked amazing online and did not disappoint! Potions were generous and prices were fair. Busy place on a Sunday morning but we were lucky to get the last table. My side of bacon was forgotten but the almond berry French toast was so good, I just kept eating. I mentioned to server and she was horrified. She took it off the check and offered me to take it home. Since I don't live there, I declined. She gave us a 10% discount off the whole check! Wow! I enjoyed the saltiness of the corned beef mixed with the over easy eggs. The seasoned potatoes were also good and made the breakfast complete. My pancakes were flavorful and somewhat dense. Checked out a breakfast joint for an early Saturday bite on a poet friend's recommendation. Met up at the strip mall location and was surprised to see a many cars in the parking lot. So this place must be good! Got seated right away as we were early before the crowds came in. Get there by 9am or it will be a fairly long wait. Waiter was super friendly and quick to point out specials for the day, get us watered and caffeinated with a pitcher of coffee. The service was on point and didn't miss a beat. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and over medium eggs. The accompanying biscuit was heavily buttered which melded well with the house-made berry jam. My dining partner ordered a massive Breakfast Quesadilla---huge--and he ended up taking half home! Everything, short of the breakfast potatoes, was excellent. I should've ordered hash browns instead of House Potatoes which were chunks of potatoes without any flavor---the Louisiana Hot Sauce is there for a reason apparently. The interior was clean, spaced out, and a bit noisy with families---a good sign if you have littles which need to grub. The two-top table was a bit small, so ask for a perimeter table if you're ordering a whole breakfast spread. All-in-all, The Jelly Cafe does a good job of catering to neighborhood brekkie hunters. Senior breakfast sandwich was good. Fresh and well prepared. Includes coffee which is a bonus. It's unfortunate that directly outside the front door you are greeted by a clay pot filled with at least 30 cigarette butts, empty pack of cigarettes and a couple crumpled napkins. We commented to each other about it being an eye sore and disgusting but still went in. Just didn't sit well with us and hope that they will consider moving the pot away from the entrance. I came here with a few friends for brunch today for the first time, and it was really good! None of us had ever been here before. The atmosphere is cute, the booths are really comfy, and the food is good! I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and I definitely recommend it, though it didn't have the best presentation. It was kinda just thrown together on a plate with cinnamon apples all on it, and if I didn't know what it was, looking at the plate wouldn't have helped me figure it out. The icing on top was so good and not overly sweet like some places. My friends all enjoyed their food, as well. Our service was great and our waitress was attentive. The place is smaller than I expected it to be, but the decor is cute and they have a cute light-up sign on the back wall that says Jelly. One thing I wish this place had was bottomless mimosas. They do have mimosas that are very pulpy and delicious, but there should be an option for bottomless ones if you are buying food. It would allow customers to share the tab and not pay $6 for each and every mimosa. It would also be even better if there were different flavors. Jelly Cafe serves both breakfast and lunch, and they have plenty of different types of foods for you to choose from, including heart-healthy and vegetarian options. read more

Took my daughter's Herr for breakfast this morning, here's our experience. We were seated with no wait at a booth. Our server, Rachel, came right to our table. She was super friendly and always smiling. Our drinks were delivered quickly. My coffee was hot and delicious. We did take a bit to decide what we wanted to order and I still wasn't sure. She asked if she could help me if I was in between any suggestions. She said chilaquiles were amazing, so I went ahead with those. Food came about 15 minutes later. It was delicious, accurate and the girls loved it. Everyone was happy with their food. We had another server come to our table and ask how everything was as well, maybe a manager? My parents and I have come to Jelly Cafe a few times and we enjoy it every time. I wish they took reservations because they are walk in only, but are clearly incredibly understaffed. They're doing their best but this usually means not seeing a human to even take your name for the first 25 minutes you're waiting. I really feel for them and think if they just took reservations for what they could handle, it may relieve some stress for them. That being said, we still LOVE this place - just go in with some patience and some time and you'll have a good experience [because the food is consistently good]. We've only encountered one waitress who wasn't at all friendly, but they were really busy that day, so I'm assuming she was just stressed and tired. Otherwise, all of the staff we have encountered have been great! I've tried a few things and basically everything has been great. + Veggie Panini w/ a side of sweet potatoes - aka my mom's go to order! This panini is really delicious. There was one visit where she found it a bit bland, but it was the day we thought was an off day because of how busy it was. Overall, very tasty and flavorful! The fries are consistently good! + Breakfast burrito - I thought this was just okay. Nothing to write home about; I would probably skip it and order something else. + Egg white omelet - they used to have one that was completely vegetarian but now it has turkey sausage. Their omelets overall are very delicious. + House Red potatoes - SO flavorful! I find it hard to truly find house potatoes [not shredded hash browns but whole potato pieces] that are well seasoned but these actually fit the bill - very tasty. + Garden Omelet - my stepdad's entree most recently and he subbed egg whites and loved it! They definitely pile on the cheese so if you don't want too much, definitely make mention of it + Mexican Skillet - my new go-to! So delicious and flavorful. I usually substitute the chorizo for mushrooms. + Buttermilk pancakes - fluffy, soft and delicious! + Greek Yogurt Parfait - LOVED this. The greek yogurt is clearly good quality - they didn't add anything to sweeten the yogurt and I loved it this way!! I also have to say - they are very accommodating with dietary restrictions. We had to ask for minimal oil, butter, and salt because of a heart condition and they assured us that the house red potatoes are always baked, they never salt their omelets, and they'd use minimal oil/butter when cooking! Super cute! I love this little place. Excellent service, homemade food, and fresh produce. I've been twice and it seems everyone knows the staff by name. I tried the baked goat cheese salad the first time. Tasty, although I wish the goat cheese was baked a bit. Second time I was there I had the Berry Pancake special. Kelly's Cafe is always a busy restaurant. Food: Portions are huge so come hungry. I forgot to take pictures. I had the Veggie skillet and asked for extra ropy potatoes which they did. It was awesome but because the portion is so big I can only eat half of it. Pancakes were nice and fluffy Brother in-law has the works. As always he says everything is done just the way he likes it, to perfection. He says it was delicious. Brie had one of the Bennies and wow it's big enough for two. Price: very reasonable for the portions they give. Definitely more than enough and you can have leftovers for the next day. Ambiance: the place is very loud but very welcoming. Friendly staff and very attentive. This place gets really crowded. Be patient because they also sit too pretty fast. In comparison to wildberry's cafe Thai place has better front desk people. The host at Kelly's was smiling and didn't play favorites. Definitely will be coming back. My sister and her family love this place and when I'm in town it's one of our fave.
