05/16/26 - I went here with my buddy this morning. Theres a big sign on the outside that said it was "Voted The Best Breakfast in Northern Illinois". Pretty bold statement considering we were the only 2 people eating there. I ordered the meat lover skillet. It was very good but the best breakfast in Northern Illinois is a bit of a stretch. The hash browns were cooked well crispy like I requested & the meat lover skillet had bits of sausage, ham & bacon all w/an egg over easy on top . My buddy got the vegetarian skillet. I'm so glad we stopped over here instead of a chain restaurant! We got in right at 830am, one of the first to be seated. I ordered a Popeye omelette: bacon, cheddar, spinach with a side of toast and fruit. Very filling! Our server was very nice as well. Can't wait to return! read more

Andy's was near where I was so an easy place to stop and pick up breakfast on a weekday. It was fine, but I wasn't overwhelmed, and even though I was here fewer than two weeks ago I can't tell you anything I remember about the food. I don't know that I'd return, since it's just a run of the mill, average breakfast place. Definitely not the "best breakfast in Illinois" that their banner outside proclaims, but not the worst place I've ever been either. read more

Service is very slow, food took over an hour, no apologies from the owner or manager for the wait, no discounts for the wait, also 5 people check was charged automatically 18 percent gratuity, and a 5 dollars fee for paying with a credit card, food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary and they have kids working in the restaurant ( 12-14 years old) will not comeback for sure to this restaurant even if it's free. read more

This was so yummy! I came today when I was early for an appointment. I got a side biscuits and gravy chicken enchilada soup and a side of bacon. I also had 4 cups of steaming hot coffee. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I wish the biscuits and gravy was sausage gravy but that's a personal preference. I was sad they didn't have chicken and rice soup everyday because I was looking forward to trying it. Will come back asap! read more

I recently went to an event where they had these breakfast trays catered from Andy's and the pancakes in the tray might be the best pancakes I've ever had! So light and fluffy. Came here on a random Saturday morning because it was voted the best breakfast in northern Illinois so I had to try it. It is located on the small strip mall on a major road. However, they do have lots of parking, which was great. They were not busy this particular morning around 1130 when we arrived, which was also great so easy to be seated and quickly Service was super nice very friendly and very kind I have to say. Maybe because they weren't busy or maybe this is who they inherently are. The menu is great. It has a lot of the basics and a lot of the traditional staples and it also has a great Mexican twist. I believe the owners are Mexican, which is great, because it adds a nice level of authenticity when you order things like the Chilaquiles or the Al pastor omelette. The salsa and the guac are super fresh and very tasty, and also have a really great kick of heat to them. While the portions in the pricing are very fair, and in line with the surroundings, I still look for something to really distinguish this place from others. Service was great until this young new girl showed up, she was really slow and forgot most of the things I ordered. I ordered a pumpkin French toast stuffed with cream cheese it sounded so good...until it came out. It was regular plain French toast with an ENTIRE can of PUMPKIN PUREE dumped on top. I mean what??? Hello?? I nearly threw up eating it and there was no cream cheese. I turned it back they were very kind about it but made it feel like it was my fault somehow although I never thought you could make pumpkin French toast that way. read more

I wanted a delicious breakfast for lunch, so I looked about and located this eatery. Their menu is rather inviting, featuring a lot of classic American breakfast dishes with a hint of Mexican cuisine. I ordered their Andy's stuffed toast and I paid extra $4 to have it as a combo meal, which included two eggs and two bacon or sausage links. The toast has a pleasant crispness to it in addition to being fluffy. Their handmade cream sauce is the filler in between the toasts. It smelled like citrus and was moderately sweet. A rich, sweet strawberry sauce covered the toast. Because of their tart flavor, the strawberries weren't ripe. As requested, the eggs were made in a scrambled style. The eggs were moist and airy when scrambled. Lucky, there was black pepper and salt on the table because the eggs were not seasoned. The bacon had a flavorful and fatty texture, although I would have preferred it to be more crispy. They executed a basic dish of bacon and eggs quite well. I ordered their cookies and cream milkshake, which came in a glass mason jar to display the large Oreo cookie, crushed Oreos, and whipped cream. Pleasantly surprised by this diner-style spot. Great menu variety for breakfast and lunch. Service was quick and friendly and the food was really good. I went with a classic spinach and feta omelette which was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were tasty, but were quite oily, so not the best. The biggest downside to this place are the steep prices. Bruh are you serious! Like what is this? I ordered a monte cristo sandwich soup and fruit. This sandwich was cold the cheese wasn't even melted. No mayo nothing on it. The soup was cold and spilled in my bag cause the lid was not on it. I took a picture of it. The top sandwich is mine the bottom is what was advertised. I guess you said why didn't I take it back. I got the cheese omelet, that's the name with no cheeses listed. So American was a surprise. It looks odd on the plate. It's long and looks like cheese added to scrambled eggs. Tasted okay enough. Home potatoes were even odder. Tiny potatoes that were half hard pieces and half soft. The table had plenty of condiments, hot sauce varieties. No ketchup on any table, and there are plenty of things to put it on. I had to ask for it and it was a cold bottle. From the other reviews just get the Mexican items. Prices aren't bad. read more

The service is this place is terrible. So many workers rushing around like chickens with their heads cut off. We arrived and they didn't have a table cleaned off for us. When we did get seated in the next five minutes, we were seated without menus and sat there looking at their online menu for fifteen minutes. No silverware, water, or food taking orders. By the time the waitress got to us we gave our full orders, coffees, waters and all. Our food came out 25 minutes later. Food is definitely good. CLEANING with BLEACH an hour before closing. We were the only ones in the restaurant there were three of us. The food was fair at best. The most annoying an hour before they're closing they are cleaning the floor with bleach while you were still trying to eat, which was giving us headaches and we couldn't even finish our food. It is a small restaurant and the smell was overpowering. They told us they were getting ready to close. This was at 2 o'clock when we left and they close at three. Totally unacceptable This will be our first and definitely our last time visiting this establishment. We asked to speak to the manager we said something to her and either she didn't understand what we were saying ...it was talking to a brick wall. Another awesome breakfast spot near our hotel. Great fast service and delicious tasting food. I went with the Greek omelet, biscuits & gravy, and the pancakes. I couldn't finish all of the food as it was too much. Two different people approached me and asked me what was wrong with it. While passing through the area I stopped here for breakfast before getting to my destination, with all the reviews I thought this would be a good place for breakfast. Just after 6am it was quiet and the morning rush was just starting to trickle in with the breakfast crowd. The place is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The place is a maze of booths with with colorful floral pattern that reminded me of a Greek breakfast place. The breakfast menu has all the regulars but the biscuits and gravy with three eggs and two sausage links for $7.95 sounded good and probably the best value when you consider a full order of just biscuits and gravy by it self averages about $8. The service was kind of slow with one guy working the whole room and he really never came back after my breakfast hit the table until I just about finished and I had to sit there and wait for the check to finally leave, I really hate not being able to leave when I'm finished because my check is not ready. When my breakfast hit the table it looked pretty good until I saw the gravy which I could tell was not going to be spectacular because it looked can like and not home made even if it was home made. The eggs looked like they broke apart and were put and were put back together on the plate for some reason. The sausage links were very average and lacked any zestyness flavor wise. The biscuits were golden brown and tasty with a buttery flavor which I liked but the gravy was super boring and very average with sparce chunks of sausage. I have had good luck with the last couple offerings of biscuits and gravy but this broke the good streak. I'm a super breakfast fan and this place was completely average and didn't wow me in any way like other places in my previous Il journeys. read more

If you remember going to breakfast at Andy's Cafe, enjoying all the turtle trinkets, had great food, and attentive service I recommend you savor that memory. This isn't that place anymore. The turtles have vacated the premises and the waiter who came by the table looked like he would rather be somewhere else. The foods pricy (like everywhere) and just ok, but the service is slow. After coming to this restaurant for a while (either dining in or take-out). We ordered by phone. Ordered a skillet, an omelet and a club sandwich, which came with fries . I asked for cheese on my sandwich ,they put them on the fries. The omelet was burnt and the skillet was inedible we tossed it out. When I got back to the house after dropping off my car, I called and explained to Cristian, he advised that there was nothing that could be done because I needed to bring the food back (which I understand) and it was his bad on the fries! I don't think I'll be frequenting here being as the food level quality has severely gone downhill. Food was mediocre and service was terrible. My daughter ordered the enchilada soup and it came with too much tomato base a creamy. Looked and, after a small taste, was unappetizing. When she told the waitress she couldn't eat it she took it back but still charged us for the soup. When confronted about charging us for the soup she said there was nothing wrong with the soup and that's just the way they make it. She absolutely would not take the uneaten soup off the bill. i live down the block from Andy's and just moved into the neighborhood last summer. I had been meaning to try it. When my parents came to visit me, We decided to give Andy's a shot. It's like a typical mexican diner. The food was good, the service was great, our waitress was nice and efficient.
