Biscuits and gravy
Fiona H.

This was so yummy! I came today when I was early for an appointment. I got a side biscuits and gravy chicken enchilada soup and a side of bacon. I also had 4 cups of steaming hot coffee. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I wish the biscuits and gravy was sausage gravy but that's a personal preference. I was sad they didn't have chicken and rice soup everyday because I was looking forward to trying it. Will come back asap!

Came here on a random Saturday morning because it was voted the best breakfast in northern Illinois so I had to try it. It is located on the small strip mall on a major road. However, they do have lots of parking, which was great. They were not busy this particular morning around 1130 when we arrived, which was also great so easy to be seated and quickly Service was super nice very friendly and very kind I have to say. Maybe because they weren't busy or maybe this is who they inherently are. The menu is great. It has a lot of the basics and a lot of the traditional staples and it also has a great Mexican twist. I believe the owners are Mexican, which is great, because it adds a nice level of authenticity when you order things like the Chilaquiles or the Al pastor omelette. The salsa and the guac are super fresh and very tasty, and also have a really great kick of heat to them. While the portions in the pricing are very fair, and in line with the surroundings, I still look for something to really distinguish this place from others. Overall, though a great experience, and worth a visit.

Second time here. Food is really good. Smoothies are delicious. Highly recommend! Friendly service. Parking is a big tight though.

I LOVE THEM!! Great place to have brunch. It's so much better than ihop or those other breakfast places. They get full pretty quick , a lot of customers come and go so you never really have to wait for a seat. The food is so delicious!!

I wanted a delicious breakfast for lunch, so I looked about and located this eatery. Their menu is rather inviting, featuring a lot of classic American breakfast dishes with a hint of Mexican cuisine. I ordered their Andy's stuffed toast and I paid extra $4 to have it as a combo meal, which included two eggs and two bacon or sausage links. The toast has a pleasant crispness to it in addition to being fluffy. Their handmade cream sauce is the filler in between the toasts. It smelled like citrus and was moderately sweet. A rich, sweet strawberry sauce covered the toast. Because of their tart flavor, the strawberries weren't ripe. As requested, the eggs were made in a scrambled style. The eggs were moist and airy when scrambled. Lucky, there was black pepper and salt on the table because the eggs were not seasoned. The bacon had a flavorful and fatty texture, although I would have preferred it to be more crispy. They executed a basic dish of bacon and eggs quite well. I ordered their cookies and cream milkshake, which came in a glass mason jar to display the large Oreo cookie, crushed Oreos, and whipped cream. Although the look is quite tempting, which is why I initially ordered it, the taste was not up to par.

Fresh Spinach and Feta Cheese Omelet

Pleasantly surprised by this diner-style spot. Great menu variety for breakfast and lunch. Service was quick and friendly and the food was really good. I went with a classic spinach and feta omelette which was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were tasty, but were quite oily, so not the best. The biggest downside to this place are the steep prices. While everything was good, I don't think I'd pay these prices again for this type of food.

Located in a strip mall, there is ample free parking. Staff is unassuming, professional and helpful, willing to help with any menu questions. We came for lunch to celebrate a birthday and it was an excellent choice. The menu has a lot of clean eating options, including vegetarian and keto. We opted to share a lamb pizza, a tomato and cucumber salad and a meat tray. All were excellent, plenty of food. The pita was excellent. The tea at the end was lovely. Prices reasonable, good food good portions. Absolutely worth checking out and adding into the rotation of where to go.

The pistachio crumble latte is still one of my favorites -- creamy, flavorful, and comforting. If you prefer stronger coffee, I'd definitely recommend adding an extra shot. The pogacha with beef and the burek were both delicious, rich, and full of flavor. I also tried the pistachio cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious -- just as good as I remembered. I was a little disappointed with the Dubai chocolate cheesecake this time though. It didn't even look the same as before, and the pistachio paste tasted less natural than I remembered. The service was good, everyone was friendly, and I'll definitely come back again.

Parking was a tad confusing, but I'm not expecting it to be on the same property as a hotel so that's mostly on me haha It felt very cozy going in. A similar atmosphere to walking into your favorite buffet. Old school register, a nice waterfall and a very warm feeling. Waitstaff was VERY friendly and attentive. The young woman that helped us was back over to check on us came over just often enough to know that she cared and not too often either. I ordered an omelet and hashbrowns and sourdough. My partner ordered a French toast dish that I can't recall the name of, but MAN IT WAS FANTASTIC. Like, I've been singing Tiffany's praises since I left Chicago to come back to Indianapolis and she's left back to the UK. I -will- be coming back. And i -will never forget- this place. Go eat. The service felt lacking and at times came across as slightly rude, which set the tone right away. I was seated in a booth by a large window, and the windowsill was visibly dirty with dust and even bugs, which was pretty off-putting while trying to eat. The breakfast itself was mediocre at best. Between the service and the cleanliness issues, it just didn't meet expectations. I wouldn't return based on this experience.

The diner has a classic, retro feel with a checkerboard aesthetic that gives it a traditional diner vibe. It is not very modern or trendy, but it is clean and well-kept, which is really what matters. The space feels simple and comfortable, making it a place someone can visit regularly for a quick, reliable meal. The menu is very straightforward and features typical diner staples. The food was pretty good, but the dishes were very basic with nothing particularly unique about them. It felt like the kind of food you might make at home, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't especially memorable either. I ordered an egg sandwich with cheese and sausage ($9.95). I also ordered bacon on the side (3 for $4.25). The egg sandwich was okay, but the bagel tasted like those cheap bagels you would get at a hotel during their complimentary breakfast that come from a bag. The sandwich didn't have anything on it other than exactly what they called it on the menu: a bagel, sausage links cut in half, an egg, and cheese. Nothing on the sandwich was seasoned or flavorful. My husband enjoyed his food much more than I did, and he ordered the Big Texas Breakfast ($12.95). This came with country-fried steak with sausage gravy on top, 2 eggs your way, and hash brown potatoes. He also ordered sausage links on the side (3 for $4.25). The service was friendly, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time, which worked well for us since we were on a bit of a tight schedule. Overall, Lola's Diner delivered a simple diner experience with homemade-style food. I would come here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast.
