I looked at the other reviews before sitting down to write this. With so many commenting on the service, it might have made me change my mind. I decided that I would try a Salvadorian dish since I'm here! I got the Carne a la Parilla with two eggs over easy and fried plantains. The husband got the Especial Intipucá which consisted of beef steak, chicken breast, and Spanish sausage and served with pico de gallo, rice and beans. My NY strip steak was prepared really well. I wanted the meat to be medium and it was perfectly pink and soft. I really enjoyed my entire entree. I like refried beans to be creamy and this was. The eggs on the steak were a good addition to the dish. If I was making it, I would make the eggs more runny but if this is how it is normally prepared, it was fine as well. And absolutely no complaints with the fried plantains. The husband also enjoyed his meal and liked the grilled flavor of the chicken. He liked the variety of meats in his dish and it was nice to try something new for the both of us. I dropped a star because service was extremely slow. We waited too long for our food and our server did apologize for the wait. There was a huge party that day that the restaurant was trying to accommodate but we did arrive before the restaurant started to fill up and before the party. Our server did check on us a couple of times. I don't understand why restaurants don't just offer something for their customers when they know they've been waiting too long for their entrees to be ready. They could have offered more chips and salsa or something. I think I will be back. I noticed the table next to us ordered a dish that I would love to try. I think it was the surf and turf with a whole sauteed lobster. That looked amazing. Plenty of parking a few steps away at the county parking lot which is free on Sundays.

I saw this place on Groupon and my fiancé and I went last week. At first we went in and we're skeptical as there were several waiting for pick up orders and most of the staff were in the kitchen. When someone finally came out we asked for a table. Our waiter came and was vey friendly. We told him about the Groupon which was 80 dollars enough to cover appetizers, two entrees, and a pitcher of margaritas which we wanted. To drink we had a pitcher of frozen mango and peach margaritas. They can do up to two flavors combined and it was a great combo. For our appetizer we had a House Combination for 2 which had all sorts of tasty items including a cheese quesadilla, nachos, chicken wings, taquitos, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. For our entrees we shared the combination Salvadorena which had a chicken tamale, chicken papusa (substituted instead of pork), plantains, rice, and beans as well as Chef's Tacos which included beef steak, grilled chicken, and beef tongue tacos. All in all, we loved the food and drinks as it was both affordable and authentic Salvadoran and Mexican food.

People here (Juan Ovidio) are disrespectful and deceitful. I placed an order over the phone and picked it up. Once I got home, I noticed that I was missing 2 Items. I immediately called to let them know. Juan Ovidio basically said I was lying... then said come back and get them. I get back to the restaurant and in front of customers said "they were there" but we will give them to you. Basically saying I was lying. I told him to forget about it and walked out. On top of this we ordered a Sopa de Pollo, now where have you seen chicken soup made with Chicken wings that you Fry?! Please look at this picture. 15 dollars for this chicken wing soup?! You just lost a customer. Be sure to double check your orders before leaving this place if you place an order. Never coming here again.

Los Chorros is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is always delicious and service is great. My favorite dish is The lobster with crab or Langosta rellena. I like this dish with a side sala and rice. I strongly recommend trying it next time you are dining at this restaurant.

Comida Salvadoreña pero ademas otra variedad. Encanto a las bebidas deliciosas y tragos. Servicio personalizado y rápido con un ambiente familiar, pero también puedes estar en el bar disfrutando con amigos.

Las pupusas are very good. I recommend the beans and cheese kind. The atmosphere is quiet, and I can have a good conversation with my family. Plenty parking available.

So it was my first time here on the recommendation of my girlfriend who loves this place and I must say I was thoroughly impressed by many things here. First was the great service that we received from Patty as she was very quick to greet us and take our drink and food orders. Within a couple minutes the drinks arrived and they were very delicious. I got a margarita and my girlfriend got her signature drink that she likes. We then moved on to entrees which arrived very quick and were piping hot and fresh! The food was very tasty and you could tell that whoever was in the kitchen was really thoughtful and put love into the food they prepared. Even the chips and salsa are handmade Overall this was an excellent experience and a highly recommend this place, this was my first but certainly not my last visit! Thank you so much for making our evening memorable and the wonderful service and delicious food was a plus. They also have a beautiful mural out front that was done the same way it was in El Salvador so authentic all around!

My family has been going here for years! The people are so kind and the margaritas are to die for. Tonight we had various pupusas, enchiladas verdes, salmon la Union. They're pretty busy during quarantine so please be patient!

I ordered three chicken and cheese pupusas, and they were a great size. I was nearly full after the first two. The flavor was on point. My apologies for my photo because I was already halfway through my third pupusa before I remembered to snap a picture. I also tried the corn tamale, which my wife and I enjoyed a lot. On top of that, I ordered a steak taco, which unfortunately didn't make it into a picture either because I ate it too fast. What stood out to me was the "shell." Instead of the usual flour or corn tortilla, it uses the same masa dough as the pupusa, and I really enjoyed that difference. We finished our meal with the nuegados en miel dulce, something I had never tried before. I was glad I did because it was delicious and a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food and experience were excellent. If you are like me and rely on Yelp reviews to decide where to eat, I highly recommend giving La Casita Pupuseria & Market a visit. You will be well pleased like I was.

Could it be? Someplace where I love the papusas AND the tamales?!…read more I was craving chicken tamales and stumbled across La Familiar...and wished that it could've been sooner. They put a generous amount of chicken that had this delicious red sauce on it. Not sure what it's called but I loved it. They were thick, hot, and spiced beautifully. The elote tamales were, in a word, impeccable. They offered a fried option which was surprisingly delicious. The steamed ones set the bar pretty high yet here we are. Meeting and exceeding. You have the option of w/wo crema. The papusas were fluffy, filled just enough, and came with interesting fillings. I'm used to seeing pork, bean, and cheese. They offered squash (a touch of sweetness), bean and mint (literally blown away with how much I love this), and chipilin (adore). For context, Chipilin tastes like spinach and watercress had a baby. I noticed the cheese having a slight tang, but it wasn't off putting. Just different than other places I've tried. My only "gripe" (if you even want to call it that) was the curtido. It tasted good but something was off. Not off enough where I would avoid it, but it just wasn't the same. This is coming from someone who is extremely picky about that condiment. Not too fond of cabbage so maybe that's why. Now, the best for last...PASTELITOS! These amazing little pockets of happiness are stuffed with either chicken or beef and OMG OMG OMG. Every bite was pure happiness. It kinda reminded me of kibbeh. The handmade tortillas were amazing the next morning with some eggs and ricotta salata. So, if you're deciding on where to eat today, tomorrow, or next week...come here. I promise there will be something you love :D

That said, the service here is WAY better- not slow at all, they actually check on you and still use real plates (our place has gone to those paper baskets that they serve like burgers and fries in, which is fine but ...yeah!). In any event, the portion sizes are good and the slaw is awesome, we never have issues with the service but parking can be tight when they're packed. Overall solid and affordable pupusa option.

While folks at my table went with Tex-Mex options, I decided to go with a Salvadorian option. In particular, I went with the Sopa de Marisocos, which was served with fish, a whole crab, mussels, shrimps, clams, and eggs. I thought the 20 dollar price tag as pretty fair considering how much seafood was in the bowl of soup. Although I thought the soup should have come with rice, I did not realize that the soup was served with tortillas. I guess the tortillas were the rice substitute. Overall, I thought the soup was very delicious and seasoned very well. I'm glad that I followed the waitress' advice and went with the addition of cream to the soup because it elevated the soup's flavor. Besides the soup, I had my fair share of margaritas. I thought the margaritas were mixed well because they were not too sweet or acidic for me. Also, the restaurant has happy hour most days until 6 pm (or was it 7 pm?). I have to say that I must visit again, because there are a lot of things on the menu that I would like to try during my next visitS. Overall, I thought the service was impeccable. Our bartender, who later became our waitress, was very helpful in making recommendations and suggestions regarding the menu. Also, she was very patient because it took us a while to finally order food - although we did order plenty of margaritas while deciding on what to eat. The restaurant is a decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating. From the way the tables are arranged, El Gavilan looks like it is very accommodating for medium sized groups. The restaurant does have parking; however, the parking lot is a bit tight.

The plantains were reduced to a thick paste, overcooked to the consistency of baby food and lacking in any flavour. The chimichanga was not browned at all. It looked like a burrito, but the tortilla was simply dry. Not fried. Dried. Inside, there was little but shredded chicken -- dry and bland. It was served with white rice (?!?!) And a dollop of sour cream -- no salsa, no gauc, nothing. Tex Mex for people who don't like spices, flavour, or taste.
