Mi Pueblito - Tamal was on point! So good and well-stuffed with deliciousness!

You feel like you are eating at a family member's house. The staff is so sweet, warm, kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. They were so sweet to my baby boy that he adores them and cannot wait to go back. They treated him like they were just one of his aunties, and he loved it! The food was great, absolutely flawless! We had pupusas, tamal de gallina (hen tamal), and atol de elote (thickened cream cornstarch drink - just try it! So comforting and warm, like a big hug!). My son and I loved everything! The tamal was definitely up there with the best I've ever had. It was packed with chicken and flavor, and had a nice balance of meat and veg. Everyone thinks they can make good tamales, but these people really can! Tamales are to Central American and Mexican food what mac and cheese and potato salad are to Americans--your ability as a cook is just mere talk until someone has tried your tamales. That is the real test. The cooks here pass the test with flying colors! The pupusas were flavorful and so tender with the perfect amount of filling. I am so serious when I say you feel like you're dining at Grandma or Auntie's house. SO much care is given to everything. Did I seriously forget to mention how clean this place is? It is impeccable, and it smells great. Even the bathroom looks and smells clean. It smells like Fabuloso/Mistolin and happiness haha! I am just waiting impatiently to return and try the pupusa loca (the mini). It has all things delicious in it, and it was calling my name last time, but the cook that makes them wasn't there, so I just had regular pupusas. I also can't wait to try their delicious-looking soups. Yum! Please support this business, people! Few businesses like this exist. PLUS! They play great music too! You just feel so great here, and you leave here with that same wonderful feeling! What a great place! No frills, just great people and great food!

Well, I gotta say that I agree with the majority--this place is incredible. You know the food is really good when they barely speak English. That speaks volume meaning it's really authentic. They had generous servings and the staffs were friendly. Not to mention, the place is clean, but the smell of bleach in a restaurant somewhat throws me off. I was somewhat disappointed cause they didn't serve Gulab Jamun so, the manager recommended the empanadas that is made of platanos with condensed milk inside. What can I say? It was yummy! I'm glad I tried it. Will definitely come back for more. Also, their pricings are very affordable.

We honestly have no idea what everything else on the menu is like, because we always get the half chicken with beans, rice and pico, and the delicious jalapeño corn muffins. The chicken is always super tender; the sauce they cover it with is so delicious; the skin is always the perfect amount of cooked and packed with flavor. They have a very spicy sauce that my partner loves, and I always get the orange sauce. There are others! The drink selection is quite good, with a ton of variety. They even had the seriously-rare grapefruit Jarritos the last time I was there. It's my favorite, but for some reason nobody ever has it! Thank you all for such good food and your kindness over the years!

So I'm assuming this place is under new management or at least decided to care about Yelp reviews, given that they have been verified for only a week. I was contacted by the management to take my photos down of the horchata that was allowed to sit long enough for the mix to settle, with an absorbent amount settled at the bottom, stating that "natives are aware of this," so I should basically not be accepting of this possibility. As if I don't understand and assumed because I'm not a "native" that I never made horchata. Let it be understood: I have visited many Mexican, Tex-Mex restaurants, let alone the fact that I love this sweet treat that I made myself, so I'm WELL aware of the possibilities of the mix settling. First off, it should have been some notification that the drink had been sitting for so long that it would need to be churned again... or... maybe you could have just made me a fresh drink rather than provide one that sat long enough that at least a half inch in height of horchata mix settled at the bottom of my beverage that I couldnt even drink through the straw. No one should ever contact someone who made a review over four years ago. Asking for them to delete photos based on their understanding of how a beverage should be presented or served (given that I'm not a native). I feel that was very unprofessional. Especially since they just verified this page enough to care about any of the bad reviews posted in the past, many of them have been removed since they're at five stars now, since they've been verified in the past week. Might I add that? They contacted me the same day that they verified their page. I have the screenshot to prove it. But I won't add it because I don't want them to try to take that down either.

I got a chicken tamale, a single Mexican taco with lengua, and a mini burrito with barbacoa. The lady also offered a small container of every sauce/salsa they had which I graciously accepted. All my food was so good. Chicken was just a touch dry in the tamale but the flavors made up for that especially with the green salsa. Lengua was super tender with great flavors. Great corn tortilla. Mini burrito was smothered with a delicious sweeter red sauce stuffed to the brim with shredded beef. Great value in my opinion for everything. This will definitely be my go to when I desire authentic Mexican food.

Guests will order at the counter and wait with their buzzer to get your food. They weekly specials, this week they had $8 burritos. We got the al pastor burrito and the chicken taco. It came with two types of hot sauce a green sauce and a very spicy red sauce. The wait for our food was a little longer than expected, (around 15 mins) but it was worth the wait. These burritos were filled with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and our meat of choice. Simple, but so good. I will have to go back to try something new!
