Pitiful Piri is down the street from my job and on this day I was hungry and looking for something new and Piri Piri gave me whaat I was looking for. I walked in and ordered a Burrito Sabanero. I had no idea what this was until it came out, but it was basically a chicken burrito with grilled shrimp on top with a side of red beans and rice. When I tell you I ate every bit of this.. I'm not lying, this chicken was seasoned to perfection and hit the spot. I highly recommend them.

Piri Piri is tucked away in a small plaza back from the road. Sad in that if you aren't looking for it, you'd likely never see it. It's location is also not ideal for me, even though it's on the heavily traveled Route 1, as I seldom travel this way. For this reason and this reason alone it was only my second visit there. Upon entering you'll find a humble place with seating for fifty or so. There are two menus. One is static, while the other is hand written on a chalk board. At the counter this evening was a young woman, who was taking orders and in the kitchen was an older woman. They were both very pleasant. I ordered two half chickens, two orders of fried yucca, and one order of fried plantains. The order sizes were much larger than any other like establishment in the area. The chicken may not have the crispy crust of others and the spices used give a red look. The taste was very good without any of the sauces provided. The fried yucca portion was good, but because they were cut into more slender pieces, not as tasty as other places. The fried plantains, however, were the best I've had in years! To top off this great meal was a great price and enough left to feed myself for another 2 or 3 days! I regret not having visited here more frequently, but am promising myself not to make the same mistake again!

I ate Piri Piri for the first time at wedding they catered this weekend and will definitely be back. Literally could not recommend enough! Every item was incredible.

This place is the definition of hole in the wall. The chicken blows away what you would get at any Peruvian chain and the in-house sauce (choice of 3) was on par if not better than Nandos. You wont notice it driving by but it's definitely worth the visit. I know I'll be coming back.

We were getting hungry on the way to Richmond so I stumbled upon this magical whole in the wall thru yelp! I've had so many chicken and rice places like Nandos and all the other places in Northern Virginia but this place was SO good that it pretty much knocked out all the big names! I don't come to Richmond as much but I definitely will return even though it is sort of out of the way!

Amazing service and food. At home feel. The fried ice cream and papousas were great.

Really good food. Fast service. Great prices. We had bowls and a platter. Not too spicy but plenty flavorful.

For us nothing stood out when compared to other Brazilian steakhouse. My oldest son had wanted to visit for years and before he was done he and my other son stated they preferred Texas De Brazil. To me they are about equal in food quality and service. Fogo has a more intimate feel and their menu options seem to be better. But I have always gone for the all too can eat experience which I've been to 3 different Brazilian steakhouse and they were pretty much the same experience. Texas and Fogo food is better than the other place whose name escapes me. I would recommend this to ppl who haven't been but honestly once you been to one place you pretty much been to them all.

Our waitress who sat us we really couldn't understand, her follow up throughout dinner was lackluster, and we had to track people down to get other items or refills. Now on to the meat selection. It was good, a few pieces, excellent. Roasted chicken, garlic chicken, top sirloin, and spicy sirloin. The lamb, all the pork, bacon wrapped filet were all overcooked. For the amount of money you spend, it did not meet expectations. The salad bar was really nice, lots of options there. But overall, unfortunately it was subpar. Will try again but hopefully they can turn it around.
