Excellent meal! The Mexican street corn was outstanding! Great beer, great food, great service!

Stopped by for lunch with my friends while our kiddos were at school. The food is pretty standard fare, it was all tasty. Their white sauce had us divided... I thought it tasted like cool ranch Doritos, which I thought was pretty awesome. One of my friends also thought it tasted like cool ranch Doritos, so she hated it. We all agreed that the chips were awesome though... very crisp, no oily spots anywhere, not at all stale. They were great. Two things that I did REALLY like that would probably steal us away from our current go-to restaurant is that the booths are HUGE. It seems a silly thing to care about, but it is so much comfier to have that extra arm room so everyone can be comfy while eating. We also loved the really huge glasses they have. We didn't have to ask for a refill because it is so big, so there was no flagging the server down for a refill as we are trying to wash down mouthfuls of salsa. The people were friendly, the ambiance is... pretty standard for a Mexican restaurant, although really open and airy, and I thought the cool wall of bottles behind their bar was super cool. We are pretty sure the window beside me had two bullet holes in it, but that's cool. We will definitely be back, there is so much more we want to try! read more

This place is an easy 4 star gem! The food is delicious. Quaint restaurant, Nice smells of good food cooking up Greta you at the door. If course they're coming to the table with fresh house made chips and salsa. They offer lunch specials too for a decent price.i ordered Lunch Tacos de Asada. Okay people, this place has given me hope about this area. So I go into a nice restaurant that is very clean, and the people are so hospitable. I go in to order the fiesta burrito, which I was happy to see that the photo is already attached to the name in our yolk menu. So the lady that took my order was very sweet. Her name is Yessy. She dominantly speaks English so be nice and patient please. Ella es amable y paciente contigo, así que devuélvele el favor. I come home finally trying the food for the first time and it is delicious. I got the chicken fiesta burrito. It is full of flavor I asked for enchilada sauce, but it doesn't need it. The white sauce that tastes a little like Ranch type of mixture was really good on the rice. Oh, and by the way, I actually noticed that they have Horchata!!!! I like to try tacos from any Mexican place I come across. I tried this place today. I didn't feel the love. Taco shells felt stale, tacos just really weren't good. They had that Kraft type Mexican cheese. 4.95 for 3 tacos tho not bad. Not bad, not great. read more

I called to place a pick up order. Upon arrival I was not greeted immediately and waited as two staff were talking/flirty with each other for about 3 minutes. I paid for my food and stood there like a dummy thinking that my food was not ready. Until the staff looked at me and just pointed to a plastic bag on an adjacent table. Needless to say, communication can be improved here. Our first order was 3 crispy chicken tacos. The order came with rice and beans. The tacos were soggy, with flavorless shredded chicken. In addition, the rice and beans also lacked any flavoring or texture to it. Our next order was an elote that was so flavorless. The cheese and chili looked more like a garnish than an addition to a flavor profile. Lastly, we ordered a chicken salad bowl. Which the tortilla bowl was not crispy and again flavorless overall. Salsa was very good as well as the queso. They also served a white sauce with the salsa that tasted like spicy ranch and also had good flavor. Each of our meals came out hot and were delicious. The drinks, we got sodas, were served in large cups and our sever was quick to bring refills. Great experience! read more

Excellent customer Service!!!!but..... 1. Flys will start nesting on your hair and attacking your food 2. Ordered Street Corn and the core was rubbery and super old 3. The table salsa had chunks of tomato where it had been added, and not spicy, hope you like ketchup with your chips 4. My friend ordered Enchiladas and her green salsa on the enchiladas was also super chunky 5. Rice was not fresh or house made, it was more of Minute Rice with consomé 6. Torta ok but wouldn't order again I am super critical as I grew up in Mexico and went to school in Texas. So far this restaurant is the worst I have ever been to. I have even had better Mexican food being stationed in Germany than this restaurant. I recommend Tacos Mexico instead in think 10min. away. Until next time! read more

Great decor and atmosphere. Very nice remodel with a cool bar. Good menu selections that includes authentic food. Food was good. Seasoned well. Came hot. The location may be a bit sketchy but give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We will be back. read more

Doesn't look like much of a place when you ride past and it's location doesn't help but please stop in. This place is amazing. I've tried many Mexican restaurants and this one by far is the best one. I am a huge foodie and very picky with Mexican restaurants. I got the Tacos Al Pastor and they were on point. The tacos were made fresh and the Pork has so much flavor. The margarita was nice with Don Julio. The price is fairly cheap compared to Casa del Barco but the food was much better. Don't let the area fool you with this gem. My only regret...not having a bigger stomach for Round 2. read more

Stopped here on on road trip from Florida to New York. We were staying up the road at the La Quinta. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a few ice cold beers along with a couple of burritos and enchiladas with Mexican rice. They serve complimentary tortilla chips along with homemade salsa and this delicious spicy ranch dip. I poured that dip on everything. We were having a nice conversation with one of the owners Juan Garcia. I mentioned how much I was enjoying the dip. Juan packed up a whole pint of it and told us to enjoy it. Wish this place was closer to one of our homes. Thanks so much Juan and staff. Also got a couple of homemade ice cream pops on the way out the door. They were so yummy. read more

This is the real deal here. I know the location wouldn't make you think this is a good classy place, but it is. The decor is updated (check out the restrooms even if you don't need to). It is clean and the piped in music is electric eclectic Mexican mix. The food is to die for. Easily the best we have found in Richmond. Worth the 5 mins off I-95, too. Prices are low, quality is high. You can thank me after you eat. Ingredients are fresh, everything is well made and the staff is a class act in English or Spanish. Try it!! read more

I found this restaurant while driving back from Virginia to North Carolina, after not finding anywhere with good food on my entire drive up and back (my fault) this place was a welcomed gem. I had the chicken quesadilla which was outstanding, the white Chardonnay house wine is surprisingly great! And to make the dinner even better, the waitress was very nice, the service was outstanding and she went above and beyond to make me and my baby feel comfortable. This is probably our very favorite Mexican restaurant in the Richmond area. We have come here 6 or 7 times. We're from San Diego and most Mexican restaurants don't capture our attention for very long. But this one is different. The food is very tasty and authentic. Most of the customers are Latinos. The staff are very friendly. The service is great. Tonight I had quinto Sol fajitas and they were amazing with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow night. I wanted to love Quinto Sol but I had a hard time. The food was great but our server did not do much in regards to serving. When ordering drinks I inquired about wine and the rest of my familyy ordered regular drinnks. When she returned she said noo wine and walked away. Didn't ask if I wanted something else, just walked away. After the food was ordered we never saw her again. The cook brought out our food, never received refills and when we finally got the check we paid cash cause we were not sure when she would come back to grab our payment method. My first time there other than it used to be a Chinese Restaurant. I was amazed they completely renovated the building. I ordered take out their food was awesome. I wanted something different than the ordinary Taco Bell. I tried Flautas didn't know what to expect. It was like wow and great flavor of how they did the refried beans. We have eaten at many Mexican restaurants over the years, and traveling through south Richmond recently we decided on this for lunch. We found Quinto Sol just driving by and stopped in without checking any reviews. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice atmosphere, the service is friendly, but the highlight is the food. I had the seafood chimichanga, which was delicious, and full of crab and shrimp, mmmmm! My wife had the fish tacos, which she adored and said they were the best she has had for some time. This little place is well deserving of a visit or more! Oh, and the prices are very reasonable too! read more
