We started with margaritas--highly recommend the Jalapeño Margarita if you like a spicy kick! The Texas Margarita was bold and smooth, while the Skinny Margarita with mezcal added a nice smoky twist. We kicked things off with the guacamole, which was super fresh and flavorful. For food, we ordered: * Two kids' soft tacos (one chicken, one steak) - perfect portions and very kid-friendly. * Chimichanga - my husband loved it; crispy outside, deliciously filled inside. * Chicken tacos - seasoned well and satisfying without being too heavy. * Chicken soup for our son - warm, hearty, and comforting. This restaurant was good, until it wasn't. I've been going to this restaurant with my family for quite a while. The food 'was' good, the prices 'were' reasonable. Then about 3 months ago, it suddenly changed to a place I can no longer recommend. Suddenly, the food portions were cut in half (yes, literally in half), the food was bland and without seasoning, and the prices remained the same as when the portions were twice as large. Making this an overpriced, tasteless Mexican food restaurant. It was like night and day. Los Compadres went from good food and pricing to bad food and overpriced. I can only guess that it's under new ownership, as it was an immediate and sudden change. We tried going four more times and asked them twice about what happened to the food; but the response was 'these are the only sizes we have' and 'I don't know why there are no spices on the food'. As the food continued to be tasteless and bland, and the portions remain the size of a children's meal, we have opted to try one of the other 62 Mexican restaurants in the area, instead of continuing to waste money on whatever happened to this place. read more

I'm always on the search for good food! I was really craving chilaquiles and did a quick search. I haven't had good chilaquiles since moving out here so I didn't have very high expectations. We were immediately greeted and sat us down the second we entered. My husband ordered the carne asada plate and I ordered steak chilaquiles. I seriously give the chilaquiles 10/10! The flavor was amazing and the best part... it wasn't soggy. I love when my chips are crispy with every bite. My husband loved the steak as well. It was cooked perfectly. They also gave us flan to try and it was delicious! The texture was spot on. I can't wait to bring family with us to try this out. I highly recommend it! read more

When I first arrived it smelt like chlorine, the floor was EXTREMELY greasy, the worst part is when the waiter came to show us our table he said "ok sit down I guess I don't really care" this goes to show HORRIBLE customer service it was crazy, THEN when I went to the restroom there was LITERAL COCKROACH like MAM do you even clean up the place!? The BEST Mexican food in Cummimg, Ga!!! I had the steak tacos with rice and let me tell you I haven't had any steak tacos this delicious ever!!!! Cheese dip was generous but had a thin consistency and was bland--maybe add diced jalapeño? Steak quesadilla was good-thought a $2 charge for extra sour cream was a bit much considering the amount. Street burrito was fine but needed seasoning. The refried beans were very good but I did not enjoy the red rice. Though not on the menu, margaritas are an option-they were tasty and garnished nicely. One of our favorites places to get tacos. The corn tacos are just so good and heartwarming, makes me feel so relaxed. Their margaritas are good and so is their rice. I have been here several times and am always happy. The establishment is alright, don't need much more, though they did have a leak in the ceiling one time I was there. Stopped in a little after 2 on a Wednesday. Super clean, greeted as soon as I walked in. Ordered a taco salad with shredded chicken to go. Asked for rice to be added and habeñero salsa on the side. We've eaten here 3 times now. We've always thought Tacos and Tequilas (restaurant) is the best Mexican in Forsyth; but these guys are a bit better, and a bit less expensive. And they'll make you an excellent breakfast taco (after 11am) if you ask. Getting their alcohol license soon. Closed on Mondays. Nice people. read more
