"A quien madruga Dios lo ayuda" (God helps those who rise early). Getting up early, in this case, means being blessed with a great Mexican breakfast. "Desayuno" is served 7-11am with great dishes as Huevos Rancheros, Huevos a la Mexicana, Huevos Nortenos, and Huevos con Frijloles. in other words, eggs however you like them! Almost all entrees are around $6.99 and come with rice or beans, tortillas or bread and a coffee. (Coffee definitely isn't their forte) Overall a fantastic, flavorful breakfast. After breakfast you've got some great lunch and dinner options. Authentic and classic tacos, burritos, and quesadillas as well as the less often seen Sopes and tortas. Spanish helps at the counter, but service is friendly although not always fast. Overall, a great spot for breakfast or tacos, so skip the Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell drive-thru lines and come in for something amazing.

Been here in the area for 5 months and its the best taco joint thus far. I got Al Pastor tacos. $2.50 a pop. Super tasty. Pork. Cilantro. White onion. Squeeze of lime. Done deal. I will be back. Stay away from tex mex places.

Fantastically fantastic Mexican food. Tacos were incredible. All often are start stole which is onions and coriander with the meat. Pastor, chorizo and asada are all 5 stars. The salsa bar is incredible and super spicy. Loved it!

Visiting from California and really wanted to find a good taco place, well, we did! These tacos are delicious and we enjoyed the salsa bar. We got carne asada tacos and sopes.

This taqueria is located inside a Hispanic grocery store. My boyfriend happened to find this through Yelp after we were leaving a Yelp elite event. There is plenty of seating as well as a variety of options on their menu. Some items seem a bit pricey while others seem very fair priced. You order up front and your food is brought to your booth. We actually came here twice. Our first experience was a lot better than the second. The first time we came was on a Friday morning and the food was delicious! Our second time was on a Tuesday and the food was average. We were very surprised to see the tacos were made with handmade tortillas. This is a big bonus! Most taco places we have been to use store bought tortillas. My boyfriend loves tripa tacos and he said the first time they were very crispy and flavorful, but the second time they weren't as good. They were not as crispy and they had an organ taste to it. The asada tacos were flavored very well both times. The asada burrito was HUGE and it comes with a lot of toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, avacado, sour cream, cheese, rice, and beans. You could choose to leave things out if you want. It's very flavorful, but the sour cream was too much for me. The chilaquiles I would not order again. The tortilla was very crispy so it added a nice crunchy texture to the dish, however the salsa was too sour. I'm usually a sour lover but this made my stomach feel very irritated. The tlacoyos are like a sope but it is stuffed with beans. You pick the meat topping you would like. This dish was very good, but the salsa at the top was also too much. It was the same salsa used in the chilaquiles. They have a self serve toppings bar with different types of salsas. The bar also has cucumbers, radishes and limes. The avacado salsa is my favorite! It is very flavorful and also spicy.

This place was honestly incredible! This is my first ever yelp review because I never take the time but this restaurant blew all other Mexican restaurants out the water! If you're reading this, you HAVE to try it! Chicken el pastor burrito!

Carniceria Hernandez is a small Hispanic grocery store on the south side of Cumming, Ga., and without the advice of one of my buddies, I would never have known about the jewel of a restaurant that resides in the back of this place. They are turning out the most authentic Mexican dishes out of this little place that you have to see to believe; not to mention, it's on the cheap. For $5 you can round up a steak burrito that puts any burrito that you have ever had to shame (Moe's should be ashamed of themselves). The tacos, tortas, and fajitas all, like the burritos, are out of this world. The service is also unexpectedly good. Honestly, I'm the whitest white boy you've ever seen, but these folks treat this gringo with utmost care. The huge language barrier between the cashier and me always gets comical, and we usually crack each other up, but they could probably just give me a bag of whatever they wanted, and it would still blow my socks off. Once you've enjoyed your down home vittles, make sure to do a tour of the grocery store, and pick up some of their fresh pastries or monstrous pork skins. Make sure that you get to this place soon, and tell them the big white nerdy gringo sent you! You will love this place; I promise.

THE PERFECT "GO TO" OPTION!…read more Finding lunch in Cumming is always a challenge because there just isn't enough variety. After driving around for a while, I decide that we should just find an Ingles. They have a cute eat-in cafe and I knew that I could get a warm bowl of soup on this cold and rainy day. We find this convenient store just minutes East of 400 and go in for lunch. I decide to get a couple of chicken wings and a bowl of chicken and noodle soup. My husband decides on a salad and two chicken strips. My soup was a very generous serving of chicken with pasta noodles. It was hot, hearty and delicious. The full size chicken wings were perfect. My husband's salad appeared to be super fresh and his chicken strips were very nice, not greasy or salty, just fresh. For dessert we decided on the always fresh and delicious donuts. They were so good that we purchased a box to go for the family. No matter what time they are purchased, they are always fresh. We really enjoyed our very casual lunch and Ingles will always be an option for a quick and easy lunch on the go. ***In addition to their hot food bar, you can always get a custom made sandwich with Boar's Head cheese. The soup and salad bar is a favorite while the bakery never disappoints! ***You can pay for your lunch right in the deli department where the employees are super nice and helpful. ***They always have bottled beverages and water chilling on ice next to the salad bar. Many people in the area recognize him instantly--he looks like Santa Claus and was a familiar, friendly presence to customers for years. After more than a decade of loyalty, and just one month before becoming eligible for retirement benefits, a new manager, Richard Dunn, terminated his employment for what can only be described as a trivial and unnecessary reason. My father is 67 years old and never shied away from hard work. In a short period of time, my dad lost his wife to cancer and his mother the year before. Despite everything, he continued showing up and doing his job. Firing him two weeks before Christmas and weeks before his retirement benefits vested demonstrates a shocking lack of compassion and respect. This decision reflects extremely poorly on the management at this location. I will personally be boycotting this store and encouraging others to do the same. I cannot support a business that allows leadership to treat long-term, elderly employees in such a callous manner. Kroger, you can and should do better.

I've been in the store more times than I can remember and raised my son on some of Ester's Publix Apron recipes. It has been a good relationship until October 2, 2025 when one of the store managers, Mark forgot the basic principle for Publix. The Publix Promise is rooted in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. FAILED (Mark missed a training opportunity) The cashier, whose name I withhold out of respect for age and lack of experience, was not the one who devalued me and disrespected me; that was all on the manager Mark. I can only assume that he felt the cashier told him everything he needed to know, thus dismissing me as an interruption to his day. Sadly, he hasn't a clue. We're all entitled to a bad day, so I'm hoping it's just that and not a sign of things to come at my neighborhood Publix. I was there before Mark came and will probably be there when he leaves. If today is any indication of things to come...it won't be long. I was intentionally vague because I'm convinced Mark is still clueless as to exactly what happened. I know this for a fact because I was actually trying to help. Please spare me any copy-and-paste or prearranged apologies and explanations. You can also keep your store credit or gift card.
