#Combo 3 Taco, Burrito and Chalupa

I stopped by to grab a to-go order and had the combination meal #3 which consisted of Taco, Burritos and your choice of Chalupa or Tamale. I had beef on all 3 but the Chalupa appeared to be only beans. Meal came with chips and salsa. It was good, nothing really stood out, no seasoning that stood out. Overall fair price around $12 Inside looked clean and man taking my Oder was friendly and talkative. I will probably go back and try something different on menu.

Chicken taco, rice, guacamole salad & a chili Chile Relleno.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Never crowded and service is great. But the star is the food it's delicious. The chicken taco was to die for and so was the rice and guacamole salad. The relleno had too much breading on it. But the inside was delicious. There's only one problem with this restaurant and its consistency. Sometimes the salsa is great and sometimes too spicy. The same with the refried beans, so if you don't like spicy and the beans are tinted red, don't even try them. Today even the rice was spicy. It's got to be one particular cook. Other than that they are great!

    Again extremely small portions.

Spent $97.00 at this place, then get all the way home and see this. The portion size was for a toddler, the queso was just shredded cheese melted on chips! had 5 people still hungry. I called to complain just to have the rudest man hang up on me. This is the 2nd time I have had a bad experience there and it will never go back. Please do not support businesses that don't know how to treat their paying customers. Worst experience we have ever had from restaurant. If anyone can tell me who the owner is, I would love to speak with them.

Arrived at Los Compas at noon on a Saturday, swiftly seated with chips and salsa. Our party of 6 enjoyed their meals, with my personal highlight being the flavorful and generously filled carne asada street tacos. Their cheese dip is an absolute must-try. Great service, reasonably practiced, solid food!

    Caldo de camaron

Los Compas is very large, so it was great that we were seated immediately (with social distance from other tables). The salsa was fresh with a nice punch of jalapeño. I ordered the caldo de camaron (shrimp soup). It was okay, but could have been incredible if the shrimp had not been over cooked and the soup was salted. There was an overall lack of salt in all the dishes. Unfortunately, the beef and red sauce for my sons' burritos and as mentioned, my soup all needed a healthy sprinkling from the salt shaker on the table. The hubs had some sort of steak smothered in red sauce, which was perfectly cooked to medium.

    Combination Fajitas

This is a nice Mexican joint. There is a lot of space so it's great for larger groups. Today I ordered a combination fajita which included shrimp, chicken, and beef. The shrimp is great. The beef was tough and dry. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The majority of the fajita plate is meat and onion. There are a couple small peppers you can find if you dig. I prefer more grilled flavors in my fajitas. This is very plain. But on the upside, they pile the plate so full of meat there is easily enough for 2 people to get full on one plate. I enjoy coming here because it's close and they are really friendly. Even though it's not 5 star food quality I will continue coming simply because I enjoy the people who frequently dine here.

My daughter in law decided to treat me to dinner and since we kept seeing this restaurant pop up on our community awareness page with great reviews, we decided to try it. When I tell you we wanted to leave after we got the chips and salsa, it's bad. Nothing on the menu looked good, but we decided to stay and try the food even though the salsa wasn't giving us "this is going to be good" vibes. We ordered chicken nachos, tamales, fajitas, and my granddaughter just wanted meat and rice, so they brought a picadillo style hamburger meat. Let's get into this salsa. It literally tasted like watered down tomato sauce with a couple chinos of onion and cilantro in it. The chips were good, but definitely deserved a better salsa. My daughter in law said it tasted like watered down ketchup. Then the nachos came out. These nachos, man, they needed help, so much help. The chicken was dry, there was no cheese on the nachos, and the toppings were located in just the middle of the nachos, they weren't evenly distributed. I couldn't even pour salsa on them to help them because well the salsa was terrible. Main dishes came out. Food was hot, I'll give them that. The fajitas didn't have your signature sizzling plate which kind of killed the vibe. The meat was tender, I'll give them that, but it had no flavor, it was fatty, and the ratio of meat to vegetables was 1 to 2. We were given 4 tortillas and it was literally enough for 2 full tacos because they were so thin, you had to use 2 tortillas per taco. It came with the standard sides: rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The rice was hard and bland, like it was undercooked and only tomato sauce was used to "color" the rice. The beans honestly didn't even taste like pinto beans, they just tasted like nothing. My granddaughter's plate came out, they made sure it was a cold plate so she didn't burn herself. The meat was greasy and tasted like cat food smells, if that makes sense. Her rice was hard as well. She didn't eat hardly any of it. The tamales were probably the best thing at the restaurant other than the sweet tea. I was a little disappointed because we didn't get the full tamale experience by being able to unwrap them. They were pork tamales and definitely had good flavor. The service was decent, they came back and checked on us several times. All in all, we definitely won't be back.

The decor is a total throwback to Nickelodeon's show Guts from the 90s. Even if it isn't intentional, I retro-loved it. The salsa is smoky and a little spicy and pairs perfectly with their thin crispy chips. I've been to MANY Mexican restaurants in my lifetime, and this is probably the best salsa of this style I've ever had. For my entree, I tried something I've never even heard of. Carne en su Jugo is steak with beans in tomatillo based soup. Honestly I was shocked. It was delicious, spicy, full of flavor and so simple but extremely well done. With this chilly weather, it warmed me up in the best of ways. I could only finish half of it and I am so excited to finish it for lunch tomorrow. Unfortunately, the tortillas are not made in house. I would love to see more restaurants doing this. Our waitress was attentive and kind, bringing beverages and checking on us with appropriate frequency. We will be back, and frequently!

Inside it is very functional yet still has padded booths, a nicely tiled bar with lots of light effects and a more comfortable atmosphere to dine in. This place does a lot to exhibit that they want customers to come in and dine and stay for a few drinks. Only downside... It was freezing! The two tables near me continually talked about how cold it was and I didn't even take off my sport coat to eat because it was cold inside. Now to be fair it is spring as I write this and no one has their settings for A/C or Heat set correctly yet. But, for now... 3 stars The Staff - I didn't see much staff, but, it was lunchtime so maybe there weren't that many working yet. The gal that showed me to my table was very nice. And the one who took my order was quick and efficient but that was the only time I saw her. A cook from the kitchen brought me the hot plate of food. And the gal that seated me is the one that checked to see if I needed anything else and brought me the check. Polite and Nice... not necessarily friendly. 3 Stars The Food - I ordered one of the lunch plates. The burrito and a taco with refried beans. Both the burrito and the taco were ground beef. Their flavor was good. I felt that the meal lacked a little pizzazz but was generally tasty. Chips and salsa were also included and while both were good... they were just good. Solid 4 stars for the food. Overall - This place was fine for lunch. I will try to see if I can have dinner here some time to get a more comprehensive feel of the place. For now I think they are going to sit at 3 Stars. Nothing wrong with this place. But, no story or anything drastically outstanding and memorable.
