It's tough to find good vegan food and especially so when it comes to Mexican food. We spent the night in Show Low and looking for a place for dinner. We had the veggie burrito minus the sour cream and cheese and it was excellent. It actually contained a good variety of vegetables. The side of whole pinto beans, not refried, were not cooked with lard. Plenty to eat and the blue margarita was very good. There house salsa and chips were very good as was the service. As we walked in we really liked the feel of the restaurant. We were seated right away. Drinks, Chips and Salsa were served right away. Salsa was nice and chips were warm. My wife had a margarita and she loved it. It was a generous size. Enough to get her a little tipsy! :-) Large menu to order from. Large portions. I had the chorizo burrito and my wife had the chimichanga. We both really enjoyed the food. More food than we could eat. The server was polite and refilled my drink when needed. Then to top off the lunch we received two complimentary watermelon shots! We will be back again and would recommend this great restaurant to anyone that is in Show Low. read more

Super cool atmosphere! This place wins for having a very festive atmosphere. They really did a great job with the Mexican decor! Good salsa and chips for appetizers. Even a bit of spice to the salsa! I ordered the chicken chimichanga. It was tasty and had good rice and beans with it too. For $8.95 it's a good spot to stop. I was there for diner by myself and i as ignored the whole note. It seems they were worried about everyone else. I sat at the bar and i har 3 people asking if i wanted anything before i recieved my drink even though i told each person i as asked that and never got it. When i recieved my bill it took 10 min to cash out and before i cashed out the person had to sing happy birthday to another guest. I will never go here again read more

This is by far the worst Mexican restaurant I've visited in my entire life and I've eaten Mexican food in the Deep South. Our $40 margarita pitcher had something black floating in it that slightly resembled rat feces. We received attitude upon asking for a fresh one. One of us pulled a huge piece of plastic out of our taco, the seafood was obviously frozen and cooked in a horrible sauce, one of the kids chicken strips looked slimy and undercooked (also every kid got their food last and two children never even received food) I asked for a plate for the giant seafood dish so I could eat and never got one so I never ate... and I'm pregnant. Our grandma ordered a beef chimichanga and got a chicken one, and my husbands Chile enchiladas looked like throw up and tasted even worse... honestly I could go on about this restaurant with tacky decor and shit food but what put the icing on the cake is how we were treated throughout the whole dinner. They were "gracious" enough to take off two plates... one that never showed up and the one with plastic but didn't offer a solution beyond that other than "well why don't you just leave then if you didn't like it" Our intentions were not to get free food, we just wanted it to be made right after a disgusting Father's Day dinner. This is my families favorite Mexican food place on the WM. We had a late dinner here and the place was still packed. Huge menu and lots to choose from. Suitable for a vegan or a vegetarian. Beans do have lard in them!!! I got the veggie fajitas super delicious but a little on the oily side. Restaurant was not busy, had to wait to be seated, server to get order, 35 min wait for food and at end wait for our fare. My go to place for Mexican food in Show Low/Pinetop Lakeside. Have tried many others, but don't feel any can beat this place. Service is always good as is the food and the atmosphere is fine. This is usually our first stop when we come to town. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Last night we enjoyed the beef fajitas $16.95, chorizo egg burrito topped in a delicious red sauce with rice and beans $10.90 to dip their fantastic chips. My husband loves the shrimp cocktail that is not on the actual menu $16.95. A few years ago we saw someone get it and asked about it. It is huge with a warm broth, giant shrimp and veggies and citrus and crackers. He also got a shredded beef burrito for 6.95. Okay question how can you expect quality food from a place with 230 items on the menu? Yes I actually counted. Why because it took our waiter that long to come to our table. Once we gave up on the menu and just named something that sounded like Mexican food our frustration level dropped. That was of course until we tasted the quite imitation sour cream and watered down salsa. All this because we didn't want to drive to Taylor Az and eat at Eva's. Usually restaurants make a couple really good dishes, but this place seems to make them all good. Our party of five all ordered something different and every one was very impressive. High quality flavor. Mole, chile relleno, carne asada, shrimp a la crema, and a carnitas burrito. We all had to pass around bites so we could try everything. The decor/atmosphere is fun but really had a difficult time with the food. Chips were stale and barely palatable. Salsa tasted like tomatoes, hardly any spice. Plates of food had a layer of fat/oil floating around it. Ordered a grilled cheese for my wee one and he wouldnt touch it...I didnt blame him. It looked pretty scary.
