If you want to taste fresco, have a seat at LOS CUCOS for a Mexican cuisine experience! It is founded right here in Houston, Texas but has grown across the country with locations even in Vegas. This family owned Mexican restaurant offers plates that include quesadillas, nachos, flautas, stuffed jalapeños, soup, stuffed avocados, grill specials, and birria tacos ! The flavor was superb in all of the items we had on this visit and our server Armando was top notch, very attentive and efficient. Great overall atmosphere that my family and I enjoyed. Don't skip the fresh made guac from the tableside guac cart that comes by! We especially enjoyed the seafood (fish + shrimp) plus beef on our grill. Juicy and tender meats that are seasoned well and go hand in hand with the hot tortillas. This location is right on Hwy 90 in Katy and has plenty of parking in the strip plaza its located in. There seems to be a private dining area, two separate areas with both tables and booths for dining, as well as a bar all the way in the back near the kitchen area.

We love the service and the food. Their chips are amazing and do crunchy. It's a pretty authentic Mexican restaurant. The ambiance is family friendly and a good place to enjoy a few drinks too.

I met a friend here for lunch and had a bit of a hard time finding vegetarian options. These are usually pretty easy in Mexican restaurants, but not here. I ended up getting the mix and match enchiladas dinner, and it was definitely large enough for two meals. Most Mexican restaurants on the east coast use white cheese, but this one used yellow. The white seems milder and creamier to me, but who knows. Also, I definitely recommend adding a vegetarian section with options! Thanks.

My go to chain Mexican restaurant. Food is always great and service has always been good. Great chips and salsa. Good frozen margaritas.

Margarita time! Texas bars may be closed but not the restaurants (yet)

Los Cucos has managed to be open and give their patrons great service in a COVID-19 safe manner. On my most recent visit we actually started the evening at another location but there was a huge line. It wasn't the line that bothered me, it was the incompetence of the restaurant that made me leave. On arrival at Los Cucos we found that they set up a drive through out side the front and also made limited tables available inside as long as the guest wore a mask when not at a table. We went inside. The service was better than in the past. With fewer patrons it felt we were getting more personal service. The food and margaritas were as always. Los Cucos is a good family style texmex restaurant. We left full and happy

After living in Houston for…read more15 years and dining all over the city, this was by far the most disappointing restaurant experience we've had. What made it even more frustrating is that we've been to the Cypress location many times, and every single visit there has been exceptional -- great food, great service, and consistently enjoyable. Unfortunately, the La Centerra location was the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive the wrong appetizer. The fajita plate arrived cold and without rice, beans, or tortillas. We sent both dishes back. The replacement appetizer -- ceviche tostadas -- finally arrived, but it was overloaded with lemon to the point of being unbearably sour. Meanwhile, there were still no tortillas, rice, or beans in sight. No drink refills, no updates, and barely any service during the entire wait. After another long stretch of waiting, we finally asked the server what was happening, only for her to return and tell us the kitchen was closing and they no longer had tortillas, rice, or beans available. At that point, after nearly 1.5 hours, we walked out with nothing but a to-go box of fajita meat. To the manager's credit, they removed the appetizer and fajita charges from the bill, but the experience itself left such a bad taste that it completely overshadowed the gesture. Extremely disappointing, especially compared to the excellent standards we've experienced at the Cypress location. Sadly, we will not be returning to this location.

This place is huge and can hold a lot of people, but I appreciate that they're not trying to cram as much people in as possible. There is ample spacing between tables and walk ways. Although it was busy, we did not wait long at all. Even the food that we ordered came out pretty quickly! We ordered the chicken fajitas for two and regular size queso. The chicken fajitas for two was enough to feed my husband, me, and our two little boys. The tortillas were sooo good! The queso was decent. It's pretty expensive for the portion that you get. I thought the fajitas were alright as well. It was good, but I still wanted to dip it into something. I believe that a good fajita doesn't require any extra sauce. haha We also got the sopapillas for dessert and it was alright as well. Overall, I would rate the food as a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. However, the main reason why I gave a 5 star is because we had an AMAZING waitress. Her name is Sarah and LET - ME - TELL - YOU -ABOUT - HER. Sarah was literally smiling and cheery the ENTIRE time. She was not only like that when she was serving us, but she was even walking around like that. She was polite, friendly, patient, respectful, and just a delight to interact with. She was on top of things, too! We never had to ask her to refill anything because she automatically did it. I also love how she placed our dishes on the table. It was symmetrical and esthetic. The restaurant was also super loud but once when she was walking away and I called out her name, SHE HEARD ME. She was very attentive. Seriously, she was awesome. Come to Gringo's, not for the food, but for Sarah! lol

The server came and greeted us and took our drink order and appetizer order. We were off to a good start. I am not sure how the sections were laid out but the restaurant wasn't packed. Our drinks were delivered and then there was a longer than expected wait to place our entrees order. The server finally came back answering our questions and took our entrees order. When the guacamole was delivered to our table, we had to asked for small plates. And then we had to ask for small plates... we finally got small plates. I am guessing the manager was visiting tables and brought us a couple of hot tortillas... I thought he was going to make small talk with us but he didn't. Our entrees were delivered to the table, one order was missing ranchero beans, so we asked for ranchero beans and the server asked if it was ok to bring out another set of rice and beans. To which was replied, yes. Another dinning companion asked for another fork because the fork was dirty. The server said ok. Then we asked for the beans and the fork. Then we asked for the beans and the fork. The server replied the forks are up front and she went up front and brought back the wrapped flatware set. Then we waited.. the server came by and asked if we need refills then brought the refills and we asked about the beans. The server walked away. And then came back with the beans. 2 observations, 1. why did the server always reach across the table to serve people plates instead of walking to the other side of the table? 2. Why did the server never apologize for forgetting things we asked for? The service just went downhill, I don't expect perfection but I do hope for courtesy service. Maybe it is time for more training. The food... The guacamole was very good. The chips were crispy, nice crunch and held up to the guacamole. The chicken enchiladas with mole sauce was meh. The chicken did not have a lot of flavor. Too bad the chicken wasn't cooked in the sauce or braised in the sauce. Disappointed.
