Another lunch visit but not the best experience this time around. We arrived early 12-12:30 and place only had a few tables with customers when we arrived. We were greeted right away and seated. Our server was nice and took our drink order and gave us time to look at menu. Chips and salsa arrived quickly and wasn't long before we ordered. Odd thing is we wanted a frozen margarita but was told at first that the employee that is in charge of mix machine arrived late and forgot to turn on so we were told frozen drink not available to order. we said you got to be kidding, a Mexican or Tex-Mex place and you don't have frozen margarita available. The server said give me a second to check again to make sure and came back in 2-3 mins and said its ok they got machine on and it was ready to make frozen margaritas..very odd... We ordered quesadillas and I ordered a chicken Mexican bowl. Food was good overall and wait time wasn't long. One more odd thing is waitress came by our table and saw the chip bowl empty except some crumbs and asked if we wanted more chips? We said yes please and more salsa...and than we said to each other why would the server let basket get empty to begin with is what we wondered and then when server returned all she bright was chips...we had to wait for her to come back by and re ask for salsa..smh This won't keep us from returning just didn't have the greatest customer service this visit. We arrived at 5:30 on Sunday evening and they sat our table of 11 right away. The server was there to take our drink orders quickly. I ordered a beer rita, I realize these are typically frozen with a beer, I prefer mine to be on the rocks and specifically asked for that. Mine was brought out incorrect. I ordered a small order of beef and chicken fajita quesadillas. They were good but nothing notable. Our biggest issue was that one of our party ordered the El Grande Burrito and pointed it out on the menu to the server when ordering. The meal received was incorrect and the server said it was named very similar to another dish which was the mistake. We had almost finished eating when he finally got the burrito so he ended up taking most of it to go. It would have been nice if at least the manager came over or his meal was comped but nothing at all. One of the kids in our group ordered ranch to go with her fries. We had to ask multiple times to get it because it kept being forgotten in a 20 minute span. read more

Why 3 stars? Because it's typical, fine, Tex-Mex. --- --- --- As has been the case for many of my previous reviews of Tex-Mex places, I remain baffled at how many of these concepts exist, especially when they are all almost exactly the same as all of the others. Normally when a new restaurant opens in Pine Market, I'd be visiting right away, but I wasn't all that excited to come here because I've been to other Los Cucos locations before and knew it would be pretty much what I thought it was. We went with the usual: chips and queso as an appetizer, while we waited for our fajitas to come out. Everything was perfectly fine. Not bad, not remarkable. The service, which I grant can greatly range from day to day, was painfully slow on this particular day. They seemed a bit under-staffed, which led to really long gaps between our server coming by the table. When our food came out, it was obvious that we were long past the sizzling portion of the fajita show. But the meat was tender and the price was very fair ($24 for beef fajitas is a steal in 2025.) Honestly, I'd probably be willing to pay more and drive further for my next Tex-Mex craving, but I do wish Los Cucos success, as I know the restaurants of Pine Market have had a really tough time sticking around so far. read more

We have eaten here several times in the past and it's been good but not worthy of a Michelin Star. Today it was way off we ordered street corn appetizer 10 minutes before the waitress took or lunch order. The street corn arrived and we barely had time to take a few bites before lunch arrived. My shrimp cocktail was fine but my wife's lunch was the problem. Her ground beef taco was swimming in grease and when she picked it up the grease just poured out. My taco was fine no grease at all , and when she pointed the excess amount of grease out to the waitress her response was sometimes the meat is greasy, so why wasn't mine no consistency one is super greasy and the other isn't. When your order comes with something one should never have to ask for it such as the flour tortillas. Then as she continued to eat her lunch she found a hard piece of clear plastic in her enchilada, and when she showed it to the waitress took she said it was a shrimp shell. It was no shrimp shell and if it was what was it doing in a cheese enchilada. The fajita beef was dry and tasted like it was precooked and warmed up. Over all her meal was garbage for $22 She asked for it to be taken off the bill because after you find something in your meal that shouldn't be there you loose your appetite. I hope the manager reads this and works on issues read more

The Atmosphere is wonderful and the outside with the grassy area is so good for families. The drinks are very nicely done and the variety is excellent. Salsa and chips - fantastic. The appetizers are - some of them - pretty good. Quesadillas, very good, the variety plate good. But... it kind of ends there. The enchilladas are so bland; lifeless. And the rest is about the same. It's sad. Every time I go I hope it changes, but over a year it hasn't. Good drinks though. read more

3 Stars for Los Cucos, mainly because most everything is OK. I live in the Woodforest Community in Montgomery County and the new Los Cucos is located exactly in the neighborhood. The location is its best redeeming quality. I would also say that the service is very friendly, but can at times be pretty slow. On one visit they only had one bartender working and we ended up getting our margaritas towards the end of the meal. The food is OK, but I haven't had any thing that tells me I have to go back. Last night I did have an item that was just not good however. I ordered a make your own enchilada plate where I ordered a beef, chicken fajita, and shrimp enchilada with different sauces. The beef and chicken enchiladas were Ok to good. The shrimp enchilada was not. I have a pet peeve when restaurants don't take the tails off of shrimp, and you have to get messy in the middle of a meal to take them off, but to leave the tails and some shells on shrimp buried inside an enchilada is just not right. I took my first bite, had to spit out a shrimp tail. I then figured that that was just a small mistake, and took a second bite and realized all the shrimp in the enchilada had the tails on them. Crazy. Because of the location, I'm sure we will return to the restaurant at some point. I will not be ordering a shrimp enchilada in the future however. read more

Took 50 minutes to get our food to us with no explanation or acknowledgement that it was taking forever. Then when the food got there some things weren't even warm/hit. What were thy doing in the kitchen? The manager was never around. The server was great at least. They did take a reservation for our group. The food was alright but nothing spectacular. First we love the brand and I know this is newly open, but if you aren't organized enough to roll with opening completely ...then DON'T! Pros- chicken fajitas tasty and fish dish was good Cons- SERVICE was exceptionally bad. We saw there was a long wait for food, so we were ready to order when our waiter got there. We ordered drinks that never came, we had to get up and find a water pitcher and pour our own. When the food came it was cold and had numerous problems- wrong orders or missed orders. The manager came over and offered to take the things off our bill that we didn't receive but when we got the bill they were still there. Ordered the sweet watermelon Rita & the coconut mojito from the cocktail bar & the Rita did not look like the picture as it was lacking the watermelon wedge & when I inquired our waitress just shrugged her shoulders & did nothing. The mojito was delicious. We also orders the fish tacos, table side guac & chocolate tres leches. The only complaint regarding the food is that the "table side" guac was not prepared table side which was frustrating cuz they have another guac that is half the price but not table side, yet they still charged us for the table side even after I inquired. This place is good and close. It's not the fastest for to-go orders, but worth the wait. They are consistent, but do sometimes miss things on to-go orders, so check it before leaving. Our favorites are the fish ceviche (we eat with plantain chips from Harvest Market), the crunchy taco plate, and the steak soft tacos. Both the ground beef and grilled steak have awesome seasoning. Another mediocre Mexican food restaurant in Montgomery County. Restaurant was about 35% occupied when we arrived. Waited 5 to 10 minutes for someone to seat us since there was no hostess at reception. Restaurant was decorated nicely. Took over 35 minutes to get our food after the order was placed. Numerous tables around us were having issues with getting drink refills. My wife's food was good but my food was lukewarm at best. I know staffing is an issue in many restaurants but this was not worth the stop. read more

The chicken tostada had "canned chicken" pieces ~ inexcusable. The queso had too much chili powder as did the "charro" beans. My family and I have been dining at various Los Cucos locations for many years and had no idea that this location had opened until recently. We went for the first time last night and it was everything that we've always loved about this local chain. The food, service, and atmosphere were all wonderful. The waiter offered to fix it by bringing what I had originally asked for, but then I was charged for both the wrong fajitas and the corrected ones. We could never get our drinks or refills. Our orders were all wrong and the food was not good and took forever to come out. I ordered a chimichomga that was soogy instead of crispy. My friends ribs were so overcooked that they were completely black. We had 7 people at our table and not one person liked their food. I think we will wait at least 6 months to give them another try, that's if we ever do decide to go back. My friend that has cancer was so miserable waiting so long for food and drinks. This results in some missing items and the food coming out at different times. We had a reservation but they told us at the counter that it was cancelled in the system. The wait time was expected for my family of 4 and due to it being a new restaurant so we didn't mind. The weather was phenomenal so my kids played in the green space while my wife and I relaxed. Once we were sat, we had the best service and some amazing food. Our waitress was Amira. She was on top of everything and super thoughtful.
