Met a couple of girlfriends for happy hour. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted with ice water in pretty glasses. We each ordered a glass of wine. Nice selections. the happy hour bites are priced nicely. They are small so order multiples. We had the fried ravioli, meatballs, stuffed mushrooms (contain crab meat) and the truffle arancini. Fried raviolis were the fav. The dipping sauce is maybe a vodka sauce? Really good. Arancini was a bit dry and the truffle sauce was knock you over truffle flavor. So caution for those who are not big on truffle. They also serve great complimentary bread and dipping oil. The vibe is so nice and upscale. This is a partial review as we, five, dined on Christmas Eve and they were offering a 3 course fixed menu. I'm not a fan of dining out on holidays because in a previous life working as a chef we always prepped as much as possible in advance as we knew we were going to be slammed. Amalfi's was slammed but service was excellent throughout our meal. My appetizer was crab, with a C, stuffed mushrooms. They were tasty, but the mushrooms themselves were button-sized shrooms. I use the larger mushroom when I make mine. I got a sampling of Plus One's meatballs, and they were good-sized and tender. The sauce was great for dipping, and I took advantage of that. I ordered the Branzino (AKA Mediterranean Sea Bass) filet as my entrée. As expected, it had a delicate flavor and was spiced nicely. The filet was topped with greens. Plus one ordered lobster ravioli, and it had a good amount of lobster meat, and the raviolis were cooked perfectly. The dessert was excellent. The lemonciello marscapone was so refreshing and not overly lemony. The pistachio cheesecake was a huge hit. It was so rich but not overwhelmingly filling. Both were a perfect accompaniment to our meal. Bonus points: Even though they were extremely busy, the hostess graciously took a few holiday photos by their beautiful Christmas tree! We definitely wish to return when they are offering their full menu. Pro tip: You access this second-story restaurant via stairs. There is an elevator, but when we tried using it, it never left the ground floor. read more

I visited Almafi Taste after reading the great reviews. I have to add my own take. I was dining alone and wanted to treat myself to a nice restaurant experience. Amani doesn't disappoint. My server, Damian, was charming. He checked on throughout the night and spent just the right amount of time chatting and making me feel comfortable and engaged. I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and the Lemon Scallop Risotto. They were both delicious. The risotto was the star that evening. The end of the evening I complimented Damian on the meal and he told me he was the owner. He was short on staff that night and was taking care of multiple tables. First, warm bread and oil came to the table, followed by one of the best Caesar salads we have ever had. Why 5 stars? Because this was one of the best brand new restaurants I've visited in a while. --- --- --- There's a reason that most locally owned restaurants have soft openings to work the kinks out. I can think of an infinite amount of new restaurants that have opened near me in recent years, where the feedback from people was, "ehhh... I'd wait a couple of months until they figure out their issues." This has been especially true for businesses here in Pine Market. Since we moved here in 2021, I think that has universally been how it's gone. But the Woodforest neighborhood Facebook page was the polar opposite for Amalfi Taste. I didn't even know this had opened, and then in the blink of an eye, I couldn't open Facebook without seeing someone raving about their visit. So we had to check it out for ourselves, and I have to say: the hype is real! And just as everyone else has said - you would never know that they had only been open for a week or two before we visited. I actually asked our server if the owners were also the owners of any other restaurants, but he said they actually own Harvest Market (which Amalfi sits on top of), but not other restaurants. He didn't seem 100% sure of that, but it's still pretty amazing that Amalfi Taste isn't a franchise with a tried and true plan for opening. But as for the food: Burrata Alla Parma: 5-stars. My favorite Italian appetizer (Prosciutto and Burrata) and I basically have no notes. It had these little mini balls of balsamic on top, and I guess it could have used a bit more of those, but I still loved this dish and would happily order it again. Parma E Prosciutto Pizza: 4-stars. High quality crust. I don't know if I would have to order it again, but it was enjoyable. Spaghetti Alla Carbonara: 4-stars. Similar to the pizza, in that, I really enjoyed it, but it wasn't necessarily the star of the show. Pollo Alla Parmigiana: 5-stars. May I introduce you to... the star of the show. If this wasn't the best chicken parm I've ever had in my life, I don't know what was. It was a bit crispier than normal around the edges, which I loved. But my favorite part were the giant globs of cheese on top - they looked like marshmallows and they tasted like heaven. My step mom and I came here for lunch and I was disappointed. Especially for the price of the dishes, the food was just not great. My pasta was super bland and the calamari we got looked like someone just threw it on the plate. I feel like they were trying to make it look presentable but failed. Food, service, and ambience 1000%. The attention to detail here is incredible. We live in the area and try to come here often. The bartenders and owners remember your name and drinks it's hard to beat that level of professionalism. The food is an amazing and they are constantly adding new things to their drink menus. It's always a tasting experience and it's ALWAYS an experience. I've been here alone and been here with my family including my very young daughter and the staff are amazing, always accommodating and are so great at what they do. The area has grown and more places have come up and when it comes to Italian cuisine Amalfi really makes it hard to go anywhere else where you can have great food and great drinks tis close to home. Was our go to pizza place. Smaller pizzas but at $16, for the homemade style it was worth it. Went tonight and they raised the Diavola from $18 to $22. Sadly that's just not justifiable. I totally understand that it's a challenge to make money in Pine Market with rent but $44 for 2 small pizzas is just not worth it for us. We went for NYE and the food was good, but we were not informed at the time we place the reservation that there was a set menu. I know this is common place on holidays an for good reason. The set menu was mostly seafood and my girlfriend is allergic, so her options were limited. We will go back but I think the website should have mentioned the set menu. Just went to Amalfi taste for our anniversary dinner. Wow! The food was amazing but my napkin smelled so disgusting. I did mention it to the waiter, and he said, "They don't care. They all smell that way." I tried to explain, I can smell it from my lap, I touched my face with it, it's gross." He just shrugged, so I asked for paper napkins. It would have been nice if he attempted to diffuse by offering the paper napkins on his own, and REMOVING the smelly disgusting ones from the table. Please, I beg you, go smell your napkins, and train your staff to remove ANYTHING from a table that a customer is unhappy with. I will never return. read more

Upstairs above the Harvest Market. Nice enough for a date, but casual, and quick, enough for a family with young kids. The pizza will remind you of Zanti's. It's good, but not your typical carryout style. Think of it as something between standard pizza and a wannabe fancy flatbread. Apps: The salami & cheese board thing is okay. Decent amount of meats, but none of them are all that fancy. Think high end grocery store deli meats. Lobster bisque is good, not great, but far from bad. Actually probably the second best in the area. The calamari and shrimp is also good. A huge plus, and this is a theme at Amalfi: the shrimp and calamari have always been perfectly cooked. Still tender, not at all hard or rubbery. The meatball app is probably the best. Not at all dry, a genuinely very good meatball. Entrees: The veal dishes are excellent. Small portions, thin cutlets, but perfectly cooked every time. I'm guessing that's hard to do considering how often restaurants serve ruined veal. If I was forced to complain about the veal it'd be on portion size, and I don't eat much in general, along with the slightly too sweet for me Marsala sauce, but, tbh, I'm pretty sure their Marsala is exactly the way it's supposed to be. I just have odd preferences. They have all the typical chicken versions of the veal dishes all with much larger portions, but the best part, yet again: I've never had overcooked chicken at Amalfi. The lasagna is very good. The spaghetti in the giant bowl of Parmesan is another good choice. read more
