Me And my girlfriend came in to eat after saving our hunger the whole day knowing We were gonna go out on a date , when we came in , the staff had a little bit of a attitude , but we didn't think twice about it (since we're both servers as well and we understand some days arent the best for everyone) we just ordered and waited for our food to come out , when the food finally came out my girlfriend didn't get what she expected at all , she tried it at least to see if she would like it and took two bites LITERALLY TWO BITES , and she didn't enjoy it at all , we usually aren't the type to ever complain about anything when we go out since we understand the pain Of serving , but we have waited the whole day for this meal so we politely called our server over and asked if we could just get something else , as nicely as we could , because we hate being a pain to the server , and I didn't want my gf to just not eat anything at all on our date , the server refused to take the plate and said "we have people like you come in all the time" which we were really surprised by , and we showed him the plate that looked like it was almost untouched and asked if we could get something else which he also declined , and at that point I've never seen someone with such attitude towards us while we were being as respectful as we could , we asked if we could speak to the manager politely and he refused and said there isn't one , so we polit asked if we could speak to whoever was in charge , and he said that no one was in charge, which we knew was a blatant lie , so as the respectful couple we are we didn't want to make a scene so we just payed for the food and left , ive never seen such bad customer service , and I've never written anything bad about any place ever , but after that experience , I wouldn't want any other couple or family to go there and have there meal and day completely ruined by people having a bad day, On top of everything they were laughing in front of us and we could tell no one rly cared at all , i would highly recommend no one to Eat here. read more

Omg.. where do I even begin to try and explain this nightmare? Place looks run down to begin with so I've always avoided it. Had some friends that decided to go there and invited us so we went. Came in with an open mind and was hoping everything inside of me telling me to always avoid this place was wrong. Parking was ridiculous. No where to park and the lot is super tight so very hard to get around. We ended up having to park in a spot that was not even a parking spot. Oh well hopefully food and service will make up for it. Eating the chips and salsa come across a chip that looks like it has mold on it. Ask the waitress about it she says it's just how the tortillas look. I've had chips and salsa many times many places, but oh ok. Our waitress seemed as if she had been serving a community service sentence anyway so we weren't going to make a big deal of it. We just quit eating them. I ordered a California burrito as did my friend. He order his without pico or sour cream, with steak and chicken add salsa verde. I ordered mine how it comes, and steak. So after a good hour+ wait (6 adults 5 kids so we didn't complain) our food comes out. As they are walking out 2 of the servers stop in their tracks and hurry back into the kitchen with our food in their hands. Weird because everyone had got their food except me and my friend. After a couple minutes they come back out with our burritos. We dive in. He notices immediately that his burrito has sour cream in it. He hates sour cream so it was not hard to pick up on. He calls the waitress over and tells her. She says oh you didn't order it without sour cream. He says I'm sorry but I know I ordered no sour cream because I hate sour cream. She argues and says no you didn't, I'll go look what I wrote on the ticket to prove it. By this time the entire restaurant is looking at us because she is making this a huge thing. I have to ask another server to bring me sour cream because our waitress is too busy arguing, what do ya know mine doesn't have it, or pico. The burrito was easily the worst "California burrito" I've ever tasted btw, super bland. What do ya know mine has chicken in it that I did not order as well. It's easy to see they screwed up, instead of just fixing it were they just hoping we wouldn't notice? But on top of it, arguing and making a scene? My buddy ended up not eating. I should have trusted my instincts on this place and continued to pass. Easy the worst place I've ever ate in every way possible. Food, service, dining experience, parking, environment. 1 star is too many for this place. read more

I had a bad experience at Dos Amigos II, so I was reluctant to visit this one. Regardless, I decided to give it a fair shot. I was so disgusted by the service that I have vowed to never again return. Here's how it went down: Took my girlfriend here for dinner on a Friday night. We weren't too hungry or thirsty, so we figured we'd just get one entree and one drink and split them. We put in our order for one combo plate and one regular "jumbo" margarita to share. A couple of minutes later, our waiter came out with two margaritas for us. Hmm, they must have split the margarita into two cups for us. How nice! When we got the bill, it turned out that he had ordered us two separate margaritas AND opted us for top-shelf liqour. I was expecting to pay $10 for one margarita, and he was charging me $30 for two top-shelf margaritas. No way! I flagged down the waiter and explained that there must have been a misunderstanding, because we only requested one margarita. I also told him we just requested "regular" margaritas and not "top-shelf." "Oh, well, you already drank them" "That doesn't matter. We ordered one to share and just figured you split it into two glasses" "Well, what do you want me to do--you already drank them" "I want you to charge me for what I ordered" "I can't do that" "Yes you can. I am *not* paying for something I didn't order" "Ok, well, I'll just charge you for one but you pay for the Patrón" "No! I didn't order top-shelf!" He finally caves and begrudgingly re-rings our bill. Took him about 15 minutes to get this done. Then, I put my credit card in the card holder and waited for him to pick it up. Within 15 minutes, he never picked it up. Ended up just paying cash. I didn't want to tip such horrible service, but my girlfriend convinced me to leave 15%. This review pertains to lunch time service at Dos Amigos. What gives me the authority in knowing Mexican food, nothing. I'm just a white guy who lived in SoCal the past 8 years, so I think I have a pretty good understanding what good Mexican food is. This place definitely is not. Pros: Quick service, friendly atmosphere, decent size menu. Cons: List is big - Salsa resembles tomato paste with some sort of herb in it. Quite possibly the worse salsa I have ever had in my life. Also, who has heard of ranch dressing for tortilla chips. Really authentic guys. - Dang near everything on the menu seemed to have nacho cheese sauce on it. I am under the impression they attempt to hide the poor quality of their food with it. - I ordered the enchilada supremas (one beef, one chicken, one cheese). They were cold, the beef was just ground beef with taco seasoning, the chicken was about the same as the beef and the cheese was only cheese. It's nothing I'd write home about. read more

We ate here while in Rochester getting medical treatment at Mayo. Paid check and accidentally left credit card behind. We called the next day; they had card and we returned to pick it up. When asked where it had been kept, we did not receive an answer. The manager Manuel said he "didn't know he was off yesterday." But he was sure it was "okay." We contacted Visa. There had been a fradulent charge already and the card was shut down. We attempted to call Manuel twice to let him know about fradulent activity while card was in their custody. Free chips and salsa and a cream dipping sauce . While we were not sure what was in the cream chip dipping sauce it was tasty and had a bit of a ranch taste. I had the ground beef "Wet Burrito" it was very good. The sauce was also very good. My wife had the ground beef taco salad and was equally pleased. The staff was pleasant and went out of the way to assist us and our 8 month old baby by providing extra guacamole. We are in the area for a couple of months and I can say we will return. read more

Where to begin. I wish I would have used the restroom first, because we would have left and never ate there. Disgusting, toilet over run on floor, hole in wall about the size of a baseball that had paper towels shoved in it. The food was GROSS.... I don't recommend this place at all!!! food was so, so, waiter messed up and ran my bill under my friends card and ran her bill under my card, when I called to get this corrected they hung up on me. So I went in to the store, after 30 minutes trying to explain in a way that they understand what they did wrong, they wanted me to contact my friend to fix there mistake and have them pay me the difference, and I'm like no you made this mistake and you need to fix it!!! So here we are 28 hours later, nothing has been done!!!! They have my phone number and were to contact me when they fixed it, Nothing!!! I am sure it was an honest mistake but FIX it! With there limited English for language it is very difficult to talk to them and I honestly think they have no clue how to cancel a visa transaction and re-run it with correct amounts. This has got to be our new favorite place for Mexican in Rochester. Lots of menu choices, so there's something for everyone. Food was delicious, they do some PERFECT shrimp which is sometimes hard to find in Rochester. A really great place to unwind with some good drinks and food after a long day. Wait staff are friendly and obviously passionate about creating a positive experience for their customers. Serafin, our server, is such a sweetie. Hadn't eaten there before and from out of town. So best thing to do is try the special. Well we got our bill and was changed regular price and for them to change it to the special price and they only took off a dollar. We question it and he said that was lunch price.
