I have stiffed 2 servers in my life as I used to be one and know what a bad day is like. This wasn't someone having a bad day. Not only was our server only at our table 3 times (once to take the order, once to drop off the food and once to drop off the check), he was rude. They weren't busy, there were at least 7 servers lounging at a table when we arrived, totally cool. I am all for the laid back vibe, but don't get your panties in a wad because a table walks in. If he would have taken the time to check back with us we would have sent our food back. The Carne Asada was sub-par to dried dog food, which if given the choice I would have gone with the latter. To top it off he charged our card but brought no pen. We had to walk around the restaurant to find one! We will never return. Buyer beware don't let the welcoming facade fool you. read more

So we pulled in there today for a quick lunch to be less than happy with the results. The waitress came to the table and asked for our drink order and followed up quickly with our drinks. Then she asked if we were ready to order, we asked for a quick minute to decide. She didn't return for 10 minutes. Then when I placed my order I asked for sour cream and cheese only. My order came out with sour cream and no cheese. I then asked the gentlemen who brought us our food to please get me some cheese to pour over my order and he promptly returned with it. A few minutes later a manager showed up with a stern tone and asked, did you guys order queso cheese to go with your dinner? I said yes I did and he said , well this won't happen again in a smart ass voice. In the future you will pay for sides of queso. That sounds like an employee issue to me , not something to attack the customer about. He was rude and very cocky. I told him that it was left of my order and he just said you will pay next time! Never again will I go back and be treated that way, for sub par over priced food. Service was crap - food was crap, management was horrible and not customer oriented! I think many of the previous reviews were written on another restaurant. First of all the food we were served was only Luke warm and they were not busy. We have eaten this type of food all over the US and never had food so bland. My wife ordered chalupa , burrito and enchilada combo. The only difference was the tortilla all the stuffing was the same. The beef was finally chopped and no onions or seasoning. Very little if any cheese was used and no flavor at all. Service was very slow and next to no follow-up after food received. I posted a negative review almot 16 months ago. The salsa was not good and had no seasoning....tasted as if they opened a can of tomato sauce and poured into serving bowls. I also saw another person's review with the same complaint! Well, the salsa is much better now. Service is quick. Food is good. I had a gift certificate for Los Dos Compadres, and we drove the 20 minutes from Daytona to check it out. We were served 2 dips with the chips, both great...loved the green chili salsa!! Their cheese sauce for the chips ordered off the menu was great, thick....most are very runny. The 2 other people that I was with ordered off the menu making up their own concoctions, which they were more than happy to make for them. I ordered off the menu (Camerones Rancheros)....all were excellent. The Margarita was very tasteful, not watered down tasting like some can be, and it wasn't even top shelf. I will definately be back for more. To top the whole thing off, I left my credit card there by accident, which they held for me for 2 days before I realized that I did not have it in my wallet, locked safely in the owner's office. read more

Went here just looking for a Mexican Restaurant while we were visiting my uncle for the day. To our surprise the restaurant was VERY updated and clean and the staff was extremely friendly! The lunch was fantastic and the portions were HUGE! I am always a little nervous when choosing a Mexican restaurant but this was seriously a great place! Stopped here on the fly after a visit to Blue Spring State Park. We arrived at usual dinner time, but being a Tuesday, they weren't terribly busy. Very nice interior in the usual Mexican restaurant style, and very clean and cool (but, thankfully, not restaurant-freezing). They sat us at a high-top table in the bar area at our request. Our waitress, Carla, was very friendly. Got our drinks and chips & dip to us quickly. The dip was a bowl of salsa and a bowl of salsa verde. Both very tasty. My wife's margarita was very good, she said. The ice tea was a HUGE glass, as was the draft beer I ordered (and the price of that beer was very reasonable, too). We shared a combination plate of enchiladas and tacos, refried beans and rice (the Combo #9). All the food was fresh and tasty...very flavorful. Carla came by often enough to make sure we were good with everything, but not so much as to bother us....perfect waitress. The prices are reasonable and the food was plentiful. There is also seating out front on a covered patio, but the view is just the front parking lot and the highway, and with the temp that day being in the '90's, we weren't going to try that. So I highly recommend this place, and next time we're back in the area and in the mood for excellent Mexican food, we'll be stopping by here again. read more

We travel a lot & as we go around the country, locate a local Mexican restaurant to try out, so we feel we know Mexican food fairly well. Today we went here for lunch. The 2 salsas, one red & one green were bland. Like the other reviewer said, they need to work on them. However, we asked to have them spiced, the wait staff quickly & pleasantly accommodated our request. The margueritas were well above the average restaurant ones, we recommend them highly. I had enchiladas, one beef & one chicken. The chicken wasn't shredded, which is the way I like it but the beef was outstanding. My partner had the chili relleno & enchilada and raved about how good they were. Service was good, no complaints. We would definitely eat there again if we're in the area. read more

Great example of good Mexican food. Good service, reasonable prices and the food is well prepared. The atmosphere is pleasant and the bathrooms are exceptionally clean. Among the best in the area, if not the best. Recommend! When I ate here I got a serving of Queso and an order of tacos. About 2 minutes into my meal I saw not one, but three roaches in the restaurant. One was on the wall and the others on the floor. By this time my meal had been ruined and I asked to speak to the manager. They said there was a fumigator coming in a few days and they offered me no discount, even through my meal was ruined. I am so disappointed with their service and I will never return. If you want a restaurant that provides respectful service, do not go here. read more

I went to this restaurant because I purchased a gift certificate for them with the Restaurant dot com smartphone app. BIG mistake. The coupon in the phone app has a confirmation number and a telephone number for the restaurant to call and claim their payment. Also, the iCoupon clearly states "show this to your server" so they can redeem the voucher. The server did not know what to do with the coupon, so he called over the manager, who refused to even look at my phone and told me "I know what the coupon says, you need to print it out". I tried to explain to him that was not what the coupon said, and explained that all the information was right there for him to read. Again, he refused to even look at it so we got up and left the restaurant. Other than the manager being a condescending jerk, it looked like a nice place. Just don't go there with your smartphone app and expect to redeem any vouchers that way. read more

We have been here a few times and have always had bad service. Tonight was the worst! Our waitress was more occupied with talking to her co-workers and messing with the computer than to take care of us. It took over 5 minutes to get our drinks and as we waited we watched her talk and drink her own drink. I ordered a soft and hard taco with chicken and my husband ordered fajitas with only cheese and lettuce. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Once our food came, they had sour cream and guacamole on my husband's side plate and they brought me two soft beef tacos. They fixed my husband's plate with no apology. Then they brought me a soft chicken taco with a hard beef taco. So once again we had to ask for the correct order. Again, no apology. The whole experience was awful. The service is so below average it's ridiculous. The food is not good enough to make up for the service. You can get better food and service at Taco Bell. read more
