    AlPastor tacos loaded

This is one of my favorite go-to restaurants in the DeLand area. It's a hole-in-the wall restaurant connected to T's Auto Repair and they have been in business for nearly 20 years. You could easily drive right by El Taco Amigo's and not even know they are there. It's not the cleanest place around, they could definitely use a remodel; regardless, they can make a serious taco. The restaurant is quite small, but there are some tables inside if you do decide to dine-in and there is one picnic table outside if you prefer to go that route. Most customers take their order Togo. Pricing is very reasonable and probably some of the cheapest Mexican you will find in DeLand. Nancy and I stopped in during DeLandaApalooZa for a quick bite to eat before going home for the evening. I ordered three fully loaded AL Pastor tacos (marinated pork), and Nancy got two crunchy Carne Molida (ground beef) tacos, also loaded. All this came to less than $20, not bad. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing, so I was a bit worried our meal would be lacking because of this; however, it did not, and everything came out freshly cooked and delicious. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The chef had to make a last-minute change to Nancy's order because she wanted crunchy shells versus soft shells which increased our total to a $1 more, which was no big deal. Something to note that crunchy tacos cost slightly more than soft tacos. All-in-all, this is a great spot to grab a quick meal at a very affordable price. Most of the time I would rather eat at a restaurant like this where you can take your meal on the fly and without breaking the bank. We will be back!

Excellent spot just outside of the busy downtown. Very affordable prices and friendly counter service where you pick up your own food when it's ready. Large portion sizes and great food. Highly recommend the fish tacos!

Love the food here. You know it'll be good when you find a small, inconspicuous restaurant in town because that's where you get the most authentic food. Reasonably priced and quick turn around. You can order outside to go or inside to sit down. Our meal came out to $20 and we got 2 drinks, a torta, taco and sope. All the food was delicious. The parking is a little tricky at times however it's located in downtown deland so there's parking nearby.

This place is the definition of quick service tacos! Came here on a Friday night around 7pm and was able to score seats for a party of four. We order corn tacos of steak, chicken, pork and a side of an enchilada. As we waited for our food, the beers were served immediately. We observed a lot of food traffic coming through the doors which made this place even more promising. Once we got the food, we got to munching. It's everything you crave in a traditional taco -- meat, onion, cilantro and their hot sauce (red and green) are both heavenly. Right amount of heat (the best way to eat tacos)! The only reason I didn't give it a five stars is because the establishment looks a bit run down. It does, however, give it a little more authenticity like it gives off the Abuela's living room vibe. The prices are a little bit sky rocketed for what you get too. However, every small business needs that in order to keep their food delicious and up and running. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

This place is the hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that I have been missing... Can't believe i've lived in the Deland and didn't know this was here. The service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent!!! Hot, fresh, and sooo tasty. Next time, i'm getting take out and finding a park to enjoy. I highly recommend this place.

Friendly and Fresh! We got beef tacos and chicken flautas for lunch. Both good. We will back. Good prices too.

Fresh and Friendly. We had beef tacos and chicken flautas. Both good! We will be back! Good prices too. The location has few parking spaces, but you can park on the street as well.

Best Mexican food I've found in Florida so far! Taco Amigo is the kind of unassuming little shop with lots of authentic items on the menu where you know you're going to eat something good. You order at a little outdoor window, which made us feel safe during covid. We were super annoying deciding what we wanted but the staffer working register was super patient and helpful. She even graciously got them to sub french fries for meat in our burritos so we wouldn't be charged the same as meat eaters without having filling. While the sopes and enchiladas were tempting, I was starved and went with El Burrito (a wet burrito). Delicious and filling. Beans are my litmus test for good Mexican food and theirs were refried very well. I was famished and couldn't even finish the generously sized portion. Enjoyed my meal, felt satisfied, and felt covid safe. Thanks, Taco Amigo!

Don't be deceived as you drive by the local car repair place and then see the small sign for the Mexican restaurant! My life-long partner and I did research to stop on our way while here for bike week! We had the guacamole and chips, chimichanga, and Carnitas! Lunch special came with rice and beans. By Far the BEST ever!!! There is a small area inside to sit and one picnic table outside. You can also get it to go.

Hole in the wall filled the hole in my heart. So authentic and scrumptious. We love this place. Food is flavorful and comes out hot. Cooked to order most items. Cold toppings are usually placed on top of hot stuff- so ask for it on the side. Must try. And yes it's connected to a car repair shop.

We love to stop in here for lunch or dinner. Food is always quick and fresh. Staff make sure to offer a quick smile along with the red and green sauce when the food is ready.

    Corn tortillas. Lots of them!

Que Rico! Legit. Mexican. Food. Not your TexMex place here. Located alongside a mechanic shop just like in Mexico. Mechanic by day and taco joint by night. That's how it's done. No worry about a fancy joint cuz it's all about the food. We tried the Steak Fajitas, Chile Relleno, and a Steak Taco. ALL GOOD. Salsas are the bomb too. No holding back for sissies. Flavor and spice and it's all real nice. Horchata is tasty. Sweet and iced for a nice compliment to have with the food. If you like REAL MEXICAN FOOD then this is the place. Family is from Guerreo, Mexico. If I'm ever in the area again I will be back for more.

Definitely not fancy, but food is good, and prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that I was charged 60 cents for using a credit card, but wasn't told there would be a charge. I would have paid cash if I had known.

2 fish,2 chicken tacos Doesn't look like much on the outside, but this place is a gem! 4 tacos for under 10 bucks!!!

The server looked at with a smile and slight confusion. We realized they were not yet open! I felt like a dunce. We offered to come back. She made sure we were comfortable, provided several laughs, and advised that the chef was preparing. The ambiance was so inviting and the overall vibe was great so waiting was not even a concern. We started with the wings. Oh my! They were out of this world. I can only assume (because I didn't ask) that they were soy garlic, and oh so yummy. Extremely tender and moist, with more flavor than any wing should have. My Daughter ordered the chilli oil noodles. They were a medium spice packed with flavor. My finance ordered hot and spicy noodles that didn't hold back. They were as described with the perfect about of heat. She'd felt they would have benefited from a bit of sweetness, but were delicious. I thought they were great. I ordered the mongoose Dan Dan noodles. They were also delicious. The noodles themselves were the star I feel. They had the perfect amount of bounce giving an authenticity I didn't expect. I tried all three dishes and my favorite was the hot and spicy noodles but my daughter gave her leftovers to her boyfriend! I was offended but I survived. We shared a slice of pistachio cake that was truly special. The server told us it was amazing but we didn't expect it to be that good. It was super moist, not overly sweet, and was nothing less than perfect. Totally unexpected. This is a true gem.

I thought it…read morewas just a food truck type of spot, but it was actually a market with a little bit of everything, including hot food and ice cream. My wife and I arrived and tried to find parking in the lot, but it was very small with lots of vehicles parked all over, so we went to the side of the building and that's when I saw the food truck. It looked operable with outdoor seating, but no menu. So we parked in the grass area and went inside the market. The inside is much larger than it appears from the outside. The back area has some tables to dine-in and it a small section more towards the back has homemade ice cream! Onto the food.....they have a large menu with lots of options. Picture ALL of your favorite Mexican foods and then some! We tried the 5 street tacos with Jibarito (drink) special for $13.50. We added a couple of supreme tacos, a plate of refried beans and yellow rice, and a tamale. Note: We ordered chicken for the tacos and tamale. While the chicken was just ok, I would imagine that any other meat would have tasted better. Everything came out to about $25 and tasted good. Surprising, the best part were the refried beans, which is a first for me because those are usually afterthoughts at every other place I've been. So the verdict is in....is Crystal THE best Mexican food in Deland? No, but it's pretty solid. It reminded me of a gas station version of Garcia's down the street.

Don't go here. There are far better Mexican restaurants in Deland that I have frequented.
