I had the combo plate with three tacos and an enchilada, rice and beans. One bite of the enchilada and I knew it was not good. The ground beef inside was OVER GROUND. It was like eating already-chewed meat. It was not seasoned enough. Ate a taco, same thing. Yash meat, had to season that as well. They were generous with the sour cream, though. I actually think Taco Bell tacos are better! I only ate the refried beans (after seasoning them). I am not a picky eater and what I don't eat I'll box up and take home for later. Not this time, "Please, just take it away..."Salsa tasted just like canned tomatoes. The queso dip I ordered was pretty decent. Great Mexican food, and exceptional service. The people are very genuine, which makes the experience. I typically order the $1.50 tacos, and they are fabulous. If you order those, I highly recommend trying out the chorizo for choice of meat on tacos. Besides the $1.50 tacos, there is a large selection on the menu. Very good very authentic Mexican food. While I would agree with others that the red (mild) salsa is a little bland, the green (medium/hot) salsa is tasty and hot enough to make you feel it and not hot enough to ruin your upcoming meal. The sheer amount of free chips and salsa should easily suffice as an appetizer, which is good because there are actually very few on offer, especially compared with the HUGE amount of entrees and specials on the rest of the menu. Every dish Ive had has been delicious, although I must admit, of the six or seven times Ive been there, Ive had the Compadres Burrito at least four times. All of the side dishes are great, tacos, tostadas, fajitas, burritos, all very authentic and well prepared, and you can have combinations of anything and everything you want. The sodas are humungous, this sure isnt New York City, Bloomberg would have a fit! The margaritas are fantastic, and at least on Sundays they are two for one. Everyone of the staff Ive ever encountered has been genuinely friendly and openly welcoming. You cant walk in there without everyone saying hello. You cant walk out without them telling you to have a good evening. The service itself is excellent, our wait staff always takes great care of us and the owner is always around making sure things run smoothly. On one visit, there was live music. On this occasion it was a singer/guitar player singing "American" music and he was very good. To be honest, I dont usually enjoy live music while Im eating but the volume was not too loud and his playlist was not bad so Id say the overall effect was a positive one. If there is no live music the radio plays Mexican music at a very reasonable level and it sets a good atmosphere to enjoy the food. Anyone coming down 17/92 from Deland will have to make a u-turn on International to get there but the parking lot is huge and the restaurant is too, Ive never had to wait for a table, nor too long for the food to arrive. They are going to move from their current place to 548 E International Speedway Blvd. Deland, FL 32724. This is one of the many, respectable Mexican Restaurants in Deland. I wouldn't say that it is my favorite, but it is not bad. They need to work on their salsas. They give you a red and a green salsa. Neither were very flavorful. I hadn't been there in a while, so maybe it was an off night. The cheese dip and the chips were very good. I tried their fish tacos, which were grilled Tilapia. They were good. Not the best I have had. Everyone else had combo platters and cleaned their plates. This is definitely worth a try. They also have a lot of good lunch specials to sample. read more

Just don't know where to start, Horrible food. I order a plate of Fajitas to go. They were on cold. Not only they forgot to give me the tortillas, but when they gave me the tortillas they were super cold just like the horrible fajitas. The server tries to give us a lesson on how to handle cold tortillas. He said when you get home put them on a damp paper towel and in the microwave hahaha. I order to go so I wouldn't have to do anything other than to eat the food. Well little did I know that everything was cold. Lol, I went back to get my money back and the server said no let us make it better will remake your entire order. I guess they tried they now add it on onions and bell pepper to the fajitas that they had forgotten to put in the first place. The first set of fajitas was just meat no veggies at all. I started going to Los Dos at the old location and migrated to the new location with them. I have not gotten a bad meal there yet. The service is usually very good! I am there at LEAST once a week for lunch, and sometimes for dinner on the weekends. They have a well thought out lunch menu, with unbelievably low prices that include complimentary chips and salsa (tomato and verde). The portion of food is wonderful, especially considering the lunch price!! The dinner menu is a slightly higher price, BUT it is also a far larger portion, and still in line with competing venues...lets not forget, the quality of the food itself is wonderful...no complaint. The Compadres Burrito at dinnertime is as big as my forearm. The chicken taco salad lunch is an amazing value, and very satisfying lunch, even for a large appetite like mine. The fajitas, particularly steak, are an amazing lunch value. The chile rellenos are a personal favorite. I like mine with the chicken there. That is not on the lunch menu, but they will make them for you at lunch...sometimes at the lunch price, other times at the dinner price. We have never been upset with the price or quality. Definitely worth the effort to check out. It is a family run local business, the owner, Horacio, is usually on premise and takes great pride in running a clean, beautiful location serving a great product. Went to this place for Fathers Day as we were in town visiting. Chips were stale, for the most part the food was good. However our son found a pebble in his beans, yes an actual stone. We brought it to the waiters attention, then never saw the waiter again. We were not expecting anything off of our food, but an apology would have been nice. Our son bit down on it. We saw the waiter show it to management, as a manager he should have addressed our table. We realize this can happen. Just not very impressed with the place. Three years ago when I moved here we discovered this restaurant and it was amazing. We ate there once a week and was quite happy with it. Then little things started to happen. Made a to go order one night and when we got the food home it was literally frozen in the middle. Ok, it was late and things happen. I spoke to one of the ladies there about it and she said she would credit me. Never happened. Then went there again a few months later and my niece got her shredded chicken in her burrito with a huge bone and fatty knuckle joint in it. We brought this to our waitresses attention and she just shrugged it off and took it away. Tonight we went and it was absolutely terrible. My grandson ordered the nachos and it was terrible! How do you mess up nachos? Each of the 10 nachos that were put on the plate individually had dry chunks of mystery meat on them, that were supposed to be chicken, with hard cold cheese on the top. This looked like something that had been sitting back there since yesterday! And when I tasted the meat on it, it tasted sour like it was bad. We told the waiter and he did take it off our bill but when my grandson got home he began vomiting. My friend ordered the burrito and same issue, no seasoning and the meat didn't quite taste right. I had the fajitas and although they were edible, again no seasoning and the tortillas were like rubber. Well, at least the ice tea was good! hat's it for us, we won't ever chance it again. We were there at an off-time, between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't terribly crowded. We weren't overly hungry, so we shared the #9 (two enchiladas and two crispy tacos). It came with rice & beans and was plenty of food for the two of us, especially since you also get tortilla chips with both regular and salsa verde. Hubby had a beer, I had a fantastic margarita. I hate to give a bad review. This was the first time I have tried the dos compadres. I ordered carnitas and chicken fajitas. Both plates the meat was literally like leather. I love carnitas and always order them at other restaurants. These were by far the worst I ever had. Maybe because it was 2:30 on a Thursday? It looks like they microwaved last nights left overs and way over cooked them? I will try them one more time at a better hour. Anyone can have a bad day. Was so disappointed in the service and rice. Even the manager was awful in providing service. We barely saw our server and i asked for lemons 3 times from different people before i got them. I called manger over because i found what seemed to be a hair in salsa. Manager came took it and didn't bother to apologize or even bring me a replacement back. Rice was dry as if it had been reheated several times and food tasted bland. Everything from beans, chicken, and fish my fiance had. They took forever to bring us our check and when ready to pay i had to get up and take it upfront because they didn't bother to ome get. It. By far some of the worst service. I had the Enchilladas Verde. Great flavor and large portions for the price. Their salsa, especially the green sauce, is to be praised...delicious. We have been in Deland for 3 years and had not tried this restaurant. However, coming back from Daytona we decided to give it a shot based upon Yelp reviews. I must say the restaurant was clean and very presentable. The requisite chips and salsa were delivered quickly, and we placed a lunch order. My wife enjoyed her food, as did I. It compares with some of the other restaurants in the area, but stands out in the long run. We will go back for dinner in the near future. My husband had the 3 tacos made with chicken which also comes with beans and rice, while I had the grilled chicken fajitas. Hubby loved the tacos and the taco shells really were homemade . The fajitas came to the table sizzling, I heard it coming before I ever saw it! The chicken was grilled perfectly and the beans and rice were very good, but the onions and peppers were a lot over cooked. The red and verde salsa they serve before hand are nicely spiced and the service was excellent. This is our second visit here and I'll definitely go back. My wife and I decided to go to lunch here. The prices were very affordable with the lunch specials averaging around $5.99 and the dinner specials being $8.99. This restaurant gets a plus because they serve coke products which I love. I know that can be seen as very biased but honestly it's hard for me to enjoy a restaurant with Pepsi products. Our server was very friendly bringing out our drinks and chips accordingly. He was also very friendly to our infant daughter which is always a plus. The food was brought out in a timely manner and was very good portion size. The food was very tasty. This restaurant may not be the best but it is right on par with the other local establishments.
