We stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad we did. The tacos we got were so good that I hurriedly ran back to order two more burritos to go. Our favorites were the cabeza and tripa but honestly all of it was so good. I can't wait to go back again.

Located in a food cart pod on 82nd. The service is always great. They have really good street tacos, I rate it in the top 5 in the city. The asada is good 7.5 out of 10 but I like chicken the best 8.9 out of 10. Give this place a try!

I usually go to the Mexican food cart that right in the middle of Cartlandia, but I decided to try Los Jefes recently. The menu is similar to that other food cart with a variety of meats and different burritos, tortas, tacos, and plates to choose from. I got six tacos which I shared with my boyfriend. We got them in asada, carnitas, chorizo, pastor, pollo, and cabeza. Honestly couldn't tell what was was cabeza and what was asada but all were so tasty! I think my favorite was the chorizo because it was very flavorful. There are also some seafood options which cost a little extra. Sauce is free and come in mild or spicy. You can't go wrong with tacos at a food cart and these definitely did not disappoint! It's a little hidden so be on the look out for it!

The best Mexican food I've had in the area so far! Los Jefes is a food cart located in the Springwater Cart Park. The man taking my order was super nice and the service was very fast. He told me 10-15 min and my food came out sooner than 10. I got the taco plate with chicken tacos. Everything was SO good! I also got a canned juice. Great little cart park and dogs are allowed as well. Outside of the cart had a few small tables as well as bigger tables just a few feet away shared by everyone. Will definitely be back to this place!

Tried their pastor, barbacoa, and carnitas tacos today and it was pretty hard to differentiate the meats. The pastor had the pineapple obviously, but none had a punch of flavor. There are definitely better tacos in this city. They're average. Not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for the tacos. The red salsa had a nice smokiness to it. The green sauce had no heat and was very thin. The salsas could use some work too. Had them bookmarked for the breakfast burrito, so will come back to try that.

Check this place out for AMAZING tacos and authentic lamb barbacoa. I ordered a fish taco and the fish tasted so fresh and flavorful. The salsa taste super flavorful and rich. I really appreciated the lightly fried tortilla along with a fresh cilantro and onions. If I live locally I would try everything on their menu. My partner got the buche and lengua, the lengua was so tender yet crispy!

He put the hat on so I snapped his picture!

It is the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable settling into. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, and the service was genuinely great throughout. We ordered the Quekas with vegan chorizo and black beans and they were SO good, honestly a standout. The chips and guac were also a hit, and I loved that the guac was actually cold. Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. I will definitely be back!

Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Also, the Tetela de Requeson, maiz, beans and sprouting broccoli with a house made requeson - kind of like ricotta cheese - very beautifully plated and so delicious. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Right now open for lunch Thursday through Sunday 10-3pm. No fixed menu, changes with what's fresh - the way chef Angel loves to cook respecting what is in season. Service and ambiance is friendly and knowledgeable about the food and its origin - another reason I love dining here so I learn about what I'm eating and how it was inspired. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. There's a reason it was recognized early in its start by Eater, Portland Monthly and the Oregonian as one of the best restaurants in the city because foodies seek out and love to go where the food experience is special - especially the chef tasting menus in the past. Now I'm watchful and ready to go back and see what the chef Angel is serving up. What else is so special is Republica was a James Beard award nominee too!

The painting on the walls and furniture is very festive! I love how they have different seating area rooms to spread guests out for privacy. They also have a covered outdoor seating area available. Staff was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. I read reviews about their complimentary chips, salsa and bean dip. We asked for the bean dip, but we found out when we received our bill that it's not complimentary anymore. Bummer. It was good, but not worth the extra $5. They were extremely generous with their chips and salsa, so in the end we were okay paying the extra $5. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and charbroiled burger. Both were great! Fresh ingredients. The quesadilla wasn't greasy at all. Neither were the chips! Our server recommended the pollo asada for my quesadilla and it was much appreciated. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious, including the charbroiled flavor. Overall a wonderful first visit here. We'll definitely be back! Would highly recommend.
