Mixed reviews. Mine was extremely disappointing. Husband's was delicious. To start we were given chips, salsa and bean dip. The chips were average. The salsa was like ketchup. I like the bean dip very much. I ordered a 4 enchiladas--bean, cheese, chicken and beef. The cheese in the cheese enchilada was not melted. The meat in the other 3 enchiladas was average. But the sauce was not great. It seemed watery. I liked the beans and rice. Husband had a huge burrito ranchero covered in cheese. It had grilled shrimp, chicken and steak with rice and beans. It was delicious. We both liked it a lot. I recommend the burrito not the enchiladas. They have a lovely space. Nice atmosphere. Huge restaurant. The wait staff was just ok. Wonderful restaurant with standard Mexican cuisine. The chips and salsa were different as one of the salsas was refried beans. Different but don't knock it. I had three enchiladas plate and frankly too much food. We had a hospital stay the coming week so we splurged on deserts with flan and ice cream Sundae we're great. We are here visiting a friend and looked up a family friendly place nearby. We were greeted by the staff, sat promptly and taken care of by a great waiter. After placing our order he asked if we needed anything else and I said yeah, how to you pronounce the restaurant's name. He said it twice and then broke it up into syllables so I could say it properly. Very patient person I might add! Dinner was great. Then we ordered a tamarindo drink, it was so watered down that we thought we were drinking plain water with a hint of flavor.We tried to talk to the manager but he kept ignoring us and suggest us to go somewhere else if we didn't like his food. I don't do many reviews on here but this one needs to be done. I will preface this with, thankfully I only got a fairly inexpensive lunch combo. I got the quesadilla, enchilada and chalupa combo for $6.99 This was a shit show. First off, our waitress was nice but flighty using the excuse of "I don't work the lunch shift" when asked questions about the lunch combos. When asked to speak to a manager about some of our complaints. Oh he doesn't work on weekends. Oh also, the waitress was in the back of the restaurant stuffing her face with food, while serving everyone. The bean dip served with chips was a nice touch but the salsa was meh. We get our food. My "chalupa" was a stale tostada with ground hambuger and a splash of guac. Nothing else. No cheese. No tomato. No onion. No sour cream. The hamburger tasted like well, ground hambuger. There was not one hint of Mexican flavor to it. My enchilada was the exact same thing except the red sauce was flavorless and bland. My quesadilla was slightly more edible but not really. No sour cream. That was 75 cents extra. We ordered some hot sauce to give it some flavor. We tried the house hot sauce which was terrible but thankfully they had some Tapatio to give it some Mexican flavor. I doubt this place stays open long. Not when you have El Sarape in the same town. Terrible. Save your money or go elsewhere. read more

Extremely affordable. Our whole bill for two adults and a very filling selection was $16, $22 with tip. I had their papas burrito, my husband got 3 tacos and a tamale. There is much better Mexican food in Green Bay. My first concern is there is never another soul in this place when we go. I have tried it three times because I want to like it each time and it's close to home. I have to wonder how fresh the food is when there is never anyone there to sell it to. The fajitas were okay, but nothing special. What really got us wondering was when they said they could not use flour tortillas in place of corn in my daughters enchiladas. Seems like an easy swap unless you're using pre-made or frozen food. Atmosphere was what you would expect and service was average. They get 3 stars because the salsa is great. read more

Went here for my friend's birthday because, as she put it, tacos and tequila (and good friends) are all you need for a terrific time! She made reservations for our group, but since we were the only 5 in there we probably would've been fine without one. The owner was there, heard it was my friend's birthday and offered her a shot of tequila. She was happy to accept, but what made it cool was that he explained why he brought her the kind he did and what made it different. He then offered her another one and this time brought a whole tray of different tequila bottles giving us a mini tequila lesson on the different kinds and how they get their names, etc. I really appreciated that he didn't just drop down some Jose and walk away. He made it an experience. Los Magueyes is an authentic Mexican restaurant with an extensive menu, meaning you'll have no problem finding whatever burrito, taco, or enchilada you're looking for while still tasting delicious. I chose to order 3 steak tacos off their ala carte section and got them "Mexican style"- steak, onions, cilantro on a corn tortilla. The steak was flavorful and had a nice crust on it so there was some texture to the taco. I will definitely be back when I'm craving authentic Mexican tacos! read more
