The Crock of Chili came out piping hot with melted cheddar, jalapeño, sour cream, and tortilla chips, rich and hearty from the first spoonful. The Breaded Popcorn Shrimp was crisp and well‑seasoned with a wasabi dipping sauce that added just the right kick. We ordered the Peremech Sandwich twice -- Tut's spiced ground beef wrapped in pastry with bouillon, sour cream, soy sauce, and sautéed onion -- unique, savory, and surprisingly filling. The soft‑shell crab sandwich was the standout, fresh and cooked perfectly. Overall, great staff, very good service, and large portions make Rory's a dependable spot for a solid lunch.

For a Sunday at 1pm, It was packed- 20 minute wait so we ended up at Rory's just down the road. My sister got the eggs Benedict, father and I both started with the French onion soup and we split a crab sandwich. The waitress was super kind and they even split the crab sandwich on two plates with fries which was nice as some places just give you the meal and an extra plate. I would definitely recommend going to Rory's if you feel like skipping the line at the diner and the diner-esque food. It wasn't packed, service was great, we didn't feel rushed and the food was very good.

The nachos were the only decent thing we got, but they were slightly on the cold side. The wings took about 45 minutes to come out and we're cold to the touch, as well as very small with little meat on them. Lastly, the burger came out about ten minutes after the wings which was also ice cold AND missing two of the main toppings listed in the description. Sodas took 20 minutes to get- and even then they were left on the bar, my husband noticed and went up to get them himself. We asked for refills which never came. The mozzarella sticks were gross, and arrived with the salsa meant for our nachos instead of marinara. Like what!?! The nachos also didn't come with the sour cream & guac as the description in the menu noted. I understand the place was very busy, but it was definitely under staffed, with pretty terrible staff. Even when our server wasn't busy, she was literally standing behind the bar on her phone instead of checking in with her tables. I heard another table complain about their burger being really cold too.

The Granola Bar is an interestingly titled restaurant in the beautiful town of Darien, Connecticut…read more When I first heard the name, I thought it was a frozen yogurt kind of shop with healthy toppings like granola, fruit, etc. but it's actually a full on breakfast and lunch spot with many options, some quite hearty. While the breakfast and brunch menu items were tempting, I was in the mood for a good old fashioned burger. There's just one on the menu, with specific toppings but I just got a regular cheddar cheese one with avocado and mayo on the side. The result was delicious and just what I needed on that gorgeous day. I actually started with a cookies & cream vanilla iced latte, and believe it or not it actually wasn't overly sweet and very well balanced. I tasted a strawberry ginger lemonade that someone else ordered which was great too, actually having strawberry fruit pieces in there. The interior was nice and bright, with kind of a nautical vibe which wouldn't be out of place since this area is very close to the ocean. The service was great, so for sure check out this fun spot if you're in the area!

They made some edits in that the salad overall was not warm and the sprouts were usually shredded and the kale was finely chopped. This was much different in that it wasn't chopped, shredded or warmed. It was extremely odd in that there were huge leaves of kale that weren't chopped. It was off putting. We spoke to the waitress and they said it was slightly different. They took the pile of kale away and were very kind about it. I think they comped one salad but that wasn't the intent. It made us sad because that was an amazingly delicious salad which became a letdown.

We had to ask for a bigger table and was led towards the end. Very interesting menu, we had the pu'er tea, which is not very commonly offered in the Chinese restaurants in the area. Love the teapot presentation and overall the branding effort. We tried to order the soup dumpling but was told something wasn't working properly and it's going to take over an hour so next time. Got wontons in chili oil, love the flavor. The mushu pork, a little bit too sweet for me. And the beef chow fun, just can't go wrong with that, and the szichuan pot with cumin lamp. I think this more authentic Chinese but my husband felt the lamb was too oily. I requested to get the little cute cat cup for my daughter's lemonade order and they said yes, so it was a very cute touch. Very happy with the visit definitely a lot of potential we will be back.

We started off with the chili oil dumplings which were super flavorful! For entrees we got the Mongolian beef and the shrimp fried rice. Fried rice was my favorite -- didn't need any soy sauce or duck sauce bc it had enough flavor on its own. For drinks I got the lychee drink which was on the sweeter side for my personal taste. Overall, loved my experience and can't wait to go back to try more menu items.
