Amazing! Found this gem on our way to El Yunque to go hiking, which may or may not happen now. The Cubano was heavenly, the meat melts in your mouth. I took a bite and thought I saw St. Peter at the gates of heaven. Not only was my belly sufficiently full from just half, yes half, but my wallet was also still full because the amount of food you get for the cost makes you feel as if you stole the food. Fun fact: if you're a tourist they can tell and are extremely welcoming. I want this family to adopt me.

We both bit into and and we're shocked. Hard to explain how something so simple can pack such flavor. I asked the owner what the hell did I just eat because no turkey sandwich should be that good. He explained the whole process he goes through from marinating the entire turkey for a day to baking it in the oven. What a long process for a sandwich but DAMN it was great. No joke please seek this place out! Best meal in Fajardo!

We stopped here on our way to Vieques, while waiting for the ferry. It was kind of late in the afternoon around 2:30pm so the food choices were slim pickings. Still everything we ordered, rice and beans con jamón, pollo al horno, mashed potatoes, Swedish meatballs (a bit on the dense and greasy side) maduros were all very tasty. 100% authentic and the service was sincere. When we went to pay we were given 2 free desserts. One rice pudding and the other coconut custard. Both very good. My favorite was the coconut custard. Prices were agreeable. $23 bucks for two meals with 3 drinks.

The best part is that it's cheap. $4 for a freshly made omelet. Can't complain. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it's fine for a quick bite. The pastry I has was ok too- not bad, not great.... For me it wasn't good enough to be worth the calories.

So the food was good. The wife and I both got the arroz con gandules. My wife got the Puerto Rican meatloaf, I got the carne guisada, and our picky daughter orders pancakes and bacon. I have been stopping at this bakery for EVERY trip to the island! I make it a point to come here even if I am not in Fajardo for the journey. Their pan sobao is the best on the island, and the customer service is always welcoming. Try everything, from pastries and sandwiches to cafeteria-style lunches. The owner is a beautiful soul, and I hope they have continued success! read more

This was exactly what we were looking for- delicious, authentic and inexpensive. Giant portions. I pointed at what I wanted to try and sampled the pork, pastalone (plantain lasagna) and arepa de coco. They were all delicious! The pastrami sandwich was incredible as well. We will be back! read more

On the way to get on the ferry we decided to stop here and the owner is amazing. Fast service, delicious food, and he even gave us Tembleque on the house. I has a "Desayuno Completo, Avena, and some sweet bread" and everything had enriched flavor like if it was made at home style (none of that Denny's plastic). Highly recommend if your in the area!! read more

Stopped here for lunch today. The family got two sandwiches and a rice and beans plate to share. The sandwiches were huge, with Cuban-style bread and a healthy portion of meat. We got the pork and the pastrami, both were excellent. I probably preferred the pork, but just barely. The rice and beans was absolutely phenomenal. There were a couple choices of meat for the plate, and we got the ribs, which were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The beans had a touch of sweetness, which complemented the rest of the dish beautifully. After eating here on the first day of our trip, I wouldn't be surprised if we go back. read more

Fantastic food!! I wasn't sure we were heading the right way as we entered a neighborhood away from other restaurants- I am so glad we kept driving. They tasted like they were caught that morning. One caveat about this place is that if they run out of food, they will tell you it's about a 5-10 minute wait to make more. Not the case. It took them upwards of about 30 minutes to make it and they did not seem like they were in a rush to make it. That is a big put off. That's why this is only a 4 star review and not a 5 star. They'd make more business if they were faster.

There is always a line there in the mornings. They have decent music playing which is nice and what I miss at Starbucks. Great little cafe serving nice homemade food and coffee (even on a Sunday morning)! The staff were really friendly and excited to tell us about their new shop. We just stopped in for coffee, but the chef came by and had us try his Modongo, which we learned is the soup they feed hung over partiers the next day. Really glad we stopped by! read more
