This park is BIG and part of it is setup for disc golf- which my husband likes to play. It doesn't seem to matter the temps outside; there's always groups playing so that's really cool. They have a huge green space on the other side of the park; playground area for the kids (kids playing on it today so no photos- will add one later) clean restrooms and a senior center onsite too. There are picnic tables around and we've had a few picnics here as well- you're just a block or so from Starbucks so we've done some grab and go and enjoyed the park on a nice day. Sprouts is an option as well as they have sandwiches and such too. Can't wait for the temps to come down so we can stay a little longer! read more

This is a great park with nice mountain views! It has a disc golf course, sand volleyball, exercise stations, a playground, restrooms, and water fountains. I walked a mile with a few loops along the walking path. read more

Heads up to dog owners; For those of you who have dogs, small round burrs are all over the park. These burrs attach themselves to the fur and burrow into your pups paws. These burrs are a product of the weeds that grew, (my observation) that were left to grow during the year. ......the parks and rec have been doing a better job with the 'dog off leash' problem and trash... and cutting the weeds but need to keep on top of the weed cutting so we can walk our pups w/o burrs digging into their paws. This is a great park for kids, dogs, workouts and frisbee golf! There is a small parking lot but you can also park on the street. There is a nice big, covered seating area for grilling and eating. There are also restrooms and a large playground for kids! In addition to disc golf, there are also workout stations dispersed along the walking path. Lots of shade and amenities to take advantage of- opt outside! read more

Los Olivos is very conveniently located near the intersection of Indian School Road and 28th street. There is a nice senior center at the park. Disc golf, dog play area and toilet rooms are also there. It's not the nicest looking park and needs some deep cleaning but does have nice views of the mountains. Recommended. read more

Another owner of a dog off the leash. The dog attacked another dog that was ON a leash. It's just a continuation of the Parks n Rec inability to get control of this. Put up more signs? Maybe? A park ranger giving citations? Maybe? But do something. Put in a dog space, protecting kids, other dogs on a leash would be a great idea. read more

This is a fun, 9 hole city course. The rows of olive trees make it more difficult then it would otherwise be, and provide an enjoyable challenge. Today I got one disc stuck in a tree on the 3rd hole, but it was easy to retrieve with a fallen branch I found. The course could use some maintenance as a few holes at the end were missing their tee box information placards. This made it a little difficult for a first timer to navigate. The 9th hole also made me play hesitantly because of a full parking lot on the left side. Other than those two small things, I really enjoyed myself. I will be here quite a bit now that the weather is changing. read more

This park is suuper close to our house, we walk here all the time and play disc golf here once a week. The course is awesome! Short but challenging with lots of tree obstacles. Everyone we have met here has been super friendly. Sometimes it can get a little crowded on the weekends but people are super happy to scoot out of the way to let us play. Our dog loves to run in the grass here- by far my favorite neighborhood park! read more

Los Olivos Park is great, they have two playgrounds- one for the older kids and another for the younger. The restroom is located close to the playground (thank the playground Gods) and there are two volleyball courts not far from there. The park is full of olive trees and it has a pretty awesome disk golf course. In the evening it is lit and there is always someone utilizing the different aspects of the park. The only thing it is missing is a splashpad and maybe a little more shade for the swings. read more

The resurgence for Los Olivos park is approaching another milestone with a proposed urban farm - The Farm at Los Olivos. This new farm-to-table project will help build a healthier community and will create positive impacts for generations, all while reimagining additional activities for a vibrant community park." This will take up 4 acres of the park on the west end, adjacent to 28th street north of the Senior Center. It will have four components. - Organic Gardens - Art + Education Center - Healthy + Delicious Concessions - Produce Stand My home is about 150 ft off of the park so I am very excited for this new amenity. There is of course an opposition group that is very upset about loosing open space and part of the frisbee golf course. read more

I love this park! It's definitely my go-to park for a nice picnic, book read or just hanging out during your lunch break. I see people causally walking their dog, jogging and playing some sort of weird game throughout the day. Safe and friendly park in a nice neighborhood I would say. Nothing extravagant about this park like a pond or anything of that nature. But it does offer a large field to host events, parking spots along the side, and helpful workout suggestions throughout the park. read more

I hate walking my dog here because other dog owners never pick up their poop. They play fetch in the big grassy area and then pretend they don't see their dog poop. Plus people playing frisbee swear they own the park. I go to olivos as last minute resort. All I can say is becarful walking your dog. read more

We recently moved to this part of town and we were excited to be close to a park. This park, unfortunately, is very unkempt and unsafe. We've been alerted more than a few times when we arrived to steer clear of certain sections due to drug dealers. The grounds are not well maintained; the grass is often shin high in places interspersed with large barren patches. The trees look scraggly and in the mornings, the back of the park draws homeless people who leave garbage that gets uncollected. It would be nice to see the city invest a little TLC in this park. It has great potential. read more

What a cute little park! Very conveniently located for me, and it's so close to everything. Nestled between 2 streets, obviously not the biggest park in the world but it's quite cozy. Gorgeous views of both Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak, hundreds of trees to make it not just feel like a big area of grass. It has a playground (of course), volleyball courts, disc golf all around the west side of the park, and workout stations! I've never seen a park with workout stations so that is definitely a plus, encourages people to stay active while at the park. Depending on what time of day you go depends on how busy it is. From my experience, it's less people around late mornings, which I like! Not gonna lie, being the area that it's in there's some randoms that come every now and then but I never feel unsafe. And they have a lot of these trees that have grapes on them? So of course they fall off the tree and it kinda makes it messy looking with people stepping on them and whatnot. But other than that, I have no complaints about the park itself. It's quite nice. read more

Nice neighborhood park. Not huge but large enough to enjoy some outdoor activities. 9-hole disc golf course. Fun and quick. A lot of trees make it a little challenging (I am a beginner so I can seem to hit only the trees). Decent size playground. Restrooms. Ample sidewalks for scootering or other activities that can't be done in the grass. read more

This used to be a decent park a few years ago, but not anymore. I hadn't been there in a couple of years, but last night we decided to try to grill there with my family in the early evening before it got dark. There was trash spilling out of the dumpsters in the parking lot, which should have been my first clue that this was no longer a nice park. There were several homeless people there (one sleeping on top of a dirty table by the first grill we found), but they bothered me much less than the non-homeless shady looking groups of people swearing and yelling at each other loudly near the parking lot and the MANY people playing frisbee golf who were throwing their frisbees everywhere, regardless of where other people were walking. I saw several people almost get hit by them. The worst thing though was the absolute lack of cleanliness in this park. All of the tables we walked past were filthy with the trash cans spilling over or about to spill over. The table we found by the next grill was so nasty I'm pretty sure I would have needed a hazmat suit to sit at it. There were black smudges of God only knows what on it as well as many other old stains, pieces of trash and old food scattered under it, and other unidentifiable grossness. The grill also looked dirty and like it had been sitting there for decades. We ended up being so disgusted by it that we just left and didn't even attempt to grill/eat there. I hope the city decides to clean this place up since the olive trees are pretty, and it used to be a nice place to go. read more

This could be a great family park. I think it has the potential to be just that when/if The Farm at Los Olivos is built. But right now, the drug dealers and drug users are winning. On my most recent visit to the park with my 6 and 3 year-old boys, a man nearly died from a heroin overdose about 20 feet from the playground equipment at 4 pm on a Thursday. Not a great experience for me or my kids. I hope it gets better because I love my neighbors and neighborhood. But the park needs to be cleaned up. read more

It's easy for disc golfers to write this course off after one or two rounds. It's a short course and so it is automatically assumed that it's an easy course. Many a golfer to whom I've mentioned that this is my home course has poo pooed it and scoffed at me for bringing it up. It is, however, a very challenging course. There are plenty of tunnel shots to be made through the neat rows of olive trees, including the mandatory under/through them on hole 8. There are also a few long shots that need to heiser or anheiser into position just perfectly or you will find yourself with a throw that needs to be put through, around, or over a tree to basket out. I have played this course 5 times per week for months and have yet to master it. A recent basket move added to the challenge, but it's always a beast. Don't knock it until you've given it a chance to knock you! If you see me out there with my extending tree pole, join me for a round or two. Always looking to learn a thing or two from another's perspective. read more
