When I thought I had the bad service and I couldn't have worse, I then come to Los Pinos and was blown away at the level of service they offered. I ordered enchiladas with red sauce, rice and beans. They use ground beef in their enchiladas and I despise that. So I asked them If they could use birria meat instead and just charge me accordingly. They obliged. When I received my food I felt like it was a joke. Like my 10 year old went in the kitchen and tried to cook me enchiladas, and that was her masterpiece. Actually no it was actually created from the cooks at this place. The place looks like a dump from the outside but inside is quite nice. It was really pretty and the music was just right. The guy who took my order didnt speak English so I talked to him in Spanish but if you don't speak Spanish the guy running the register speaks great English. Speaking of this guy! When I tried to swap the plate of enchiladas, sorry let me rephrase that. When I tried to swap the birria wrapped in corn tortillas with salsa (the exact same salsa they serve the chips with before the meal) poured on top. It was insulting. The server then told me I had to pay for the enchiladas even though I was ordering tacos. I said no way. He gave me the check and sent me to the English speaking manager at the front. The manager said somebody is going to have to pay for it. I told him he is ridiculous. I'll pay for my drinks and I'll go eat somewhere else. He kept asking me whois going to pay for it. That if I think it's fair that the server has to pay for it. Did this guy think I was stupid? Did he really think i was going to pay for something of THAT QUALITY? Did he really think I thought he was going to pay for it? I asked for the owners name and contact info and he did not want to give it to me. I said im calling the police. He then said "OK, I'll go ahead and pay the money for the food for you!. I said if that's what you want. Fine. Paid him his drink money, tipped the server and will NEVER come back to this place. I highly advise you to go to the taco bell right in front. This place, Los Pinos is absolute trash. The manager, the quality of food... all of it. read more

Over the past several years, this Tex-Mex joint has been definitively hit and miss. The location right off of Interstate 40 is undoubtedly convenient. I've joined colleagues here for lunch-meetings, mainly due to this factor. Sometimes the food has been perfectly prepared, other times not (e.g., burnt-black, charred steak chunks). The portion sizes have been also been varied and inconsistent. So, if I want something better, I usually just head eastward down the road to a superior competitor in Palestine, AR named The Crazy Donkey Grill. I'd prefer to drive a little bit further in order to enjoy better food. read more

After a long hot day on my motorcycle, I checked into the Day's Inn and asked for a good place to eat. I was directed to Los Pinos, within walking distance, next door. I know I looked hot & tired, and the young man directed me to a booth, with an A/C unit blowing on it. I ordered beef enchilada w/ beans & rice, a tall cold beer & ice water. Everything was excellent ! There was a young couple working the restaurant. not sure if they were the owners or owner's kids. Both were very friendly. It was between lunch & dinner, so the place was quiet. The only other table had 4 local police officers on their dinner break. I doubled my tip since he had the mindset to put me by their A/C. read more

Upon entering, I noticed the atmosphere was quite classy and very well decorated. When I was checking in on my phone, the host at the front cleared his throat at me to follow him to a table, and I told him there would be two of us. After being seated by the pushy host, a thin girl with glasses and long black hair, pulled back in a low ponytail, came to my table and asked for my drink order. I requested ice water with lime. She returned to the table with ice water & lemon wedge, taking a deep swim in my water. She never returned to the table. In fact, after waiting for 15 minutes I got up, walked away so I could find where to order to go. I went back to the host at the front and ask where do I place a to go order and he said he's busy with other orders right now then walked off. When he came back up to the front, he said OK I can take your order and I asked him about a menu option that includes rice, shrimp, peppers, and cheese. He pointed out to me on their menu.The dish is usually called Arroz con comarones. I told him this, and he said what is that. I said it on perfect Spanish only to have to translate it back him in English for a guy who happens to be named Agustin' and was speaking Spanish just fine to another customer prior. After placing my order and paying he walked away. I tried to stop him to ask for my receipt because I itemize. He ignored me and kept walking. When he returned I asked for him to print my receipt when the food is ready. He said no it's not ready yet but I'm just really busy now. And he walked off again. This guy had such a bad attitude he completely misunderstood everything I was saying him as though I was imposing on his restaurant, life, and job! It was clear I was not wanted there. I showed up dressed in a sleeveless shirt, shorts and sneakers because I'm in an 18 wheeler and need to be comfortable when I'm over the road. The restaurant is right beside the truck stop I stopped at for fuel. So to be treated like less than a human and have eyes rolled at me for requesting a receipt, then writing on the receipt that I was already there in Spanish as a item ordered that is a $.0.00 cost is quite honestly CHILDISH. It's highly insulting and disrespectful. Yes, no home training and bad manners is FREE. But It's less than classy and pathetic. It was as though the host was irate, NOT because I was ignored at my table for 15 minutes, but because I wanted to order my food to go. The burrito as well as shrimp and rice are watery, oversaturated with salt, and improperly served. I was unable to eat the rice dish. They must have thought it was funny that I ordered a dish native to Mexico and assumed I didn't know what I was getting. The people in the back had stirred in white cheese dip with the rice, raw chopped bell pepper and onion, six pieces of shrimp with charred shrimp tails mixed in, frozen green peas, lima beans, and corn. This isn't what I ordered nor was this what was on the menu. The experience is ghastly. They served it without tortillas. The burrito again, had cheese dip all over it and underneath the flour tortilla shell making it sopping wet and soggy. I don't know what part of this experience was worse, but they handed out roses to all the women in the restaurant except me. While I'm 1000 miles away from my children working, hauling freight to keep American going, this is the treatment I received. All events have pictures. The people who are there today need to be helped & held accountable. I should have never been charged for being humiliated and disserviced. I am so shocked and beyond disgusted for being treated this way. There's no reason why anyone should ever be made to feel such disrespect and intentional harm. read more

We had driven from Atlanta the day we got take-out at Los Pinos, and were staying at the Super 8 next door. We read the reviews and figured it's walking distance, and an alternative to the usual road-trip fast food. We ordered a la carte shrimp tacos and guacamole salads. Pretty simple order but the quality of the food was surprisingly good. It only took about ten minutes for the restaurant to prepare my to-go order and the waitress who took my order was helpful and friendly. I don't know if we'll ever be in Brinkley, AR again, but would definitely dine here if so. read more

Excellent food! The menu here is HUGE, so we chose old favorites just to see how they tasted. Chips were fresh and it was a huge basket. Hot sauce was well made with great flavor. Asked for a hotter one and they brought us a green one. It wasn't really hotter, but it too had great flavor. We ordered a plethora of food and the portions were huge. Street tacos came in an order of 5, with so much meat in each one you had to eat half of each taco with a fork. I also ordered a chicken enchilada. My husband couldn't find a dinner combo with what he wanted so he just ordered a-la-carte. 2 beef enchiladas, 1 beef burrito, 1 beef taco. All ground beef, which was surprisingly seasoned perfect. Drawback to all 3 enchiladas we received was that they were freshly made for our meal- so they fell apart as soon as you tried to cut them. But yay for freshness! Other drawback was that all 3 enchiladas and the burrito all came with "cheese sauce" rather than your regular designated sauces as toppings. Unfortunately the sauce was just that, a thin sauce without much flavor, hence the reason for the 4-star review. The enchiladas and burrito were so flavorful, I would rather have opted for none of the "sauce" if there wasn't a choice. Also ordered a flan which was definitely homemade and was scrumptious! Again, parking for us on the road is important, this restaurant is directly across from the Road Ranger travel center, so we were able to walk the 1/4mi and back for a great dinner! read more

This place never disappoints me. I eat here a lot on my travels across the state. The fajitas Mexicanos are delicious. I always ask for the salsa Verdi and the regular salsa. I ordered the "Chicken Parrilla" on Sunday November 19th, 2023 and it was the worst food I have ever tasted. the chicken was supposed to be marinated and tender but it was completely BLAND and TOUGH ( so much for a premium cut of chicken). The rice and bean portions were very small... maybe at most two spoonfuls of each. the food was so nasty that I could not even finish it. out of all the food, the CHIPS AND SLASA was the most pleasant and edible item. I don't know if it was just this night or not but the male server I had did not check to see if food was good, did not give a refill, nor did he even have a friendly demeanor; I felt like he was rushing us from the moment we got there. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their chili relleno. Their #1 Lunch Special is a chili relleno made with a pablano pepper. It is made right. Their salsa is so so. Chips okay. Beans are not as creamy as I like but taste good. Rice is as good as any. The staff is friendly and efficient. The interior is really nice with a bar, tables and booths. The value is fair. It's right off the Interstate but is hidden behind the KFC/Taco Bell between cheap hotels so it's easy to miss. I will go back. read more

From a well traveled (well fed) NYC resident.....So I looked at reviews for Los Pinos. Avoided it and attempted to go to Taco Bell which seemed a better option based on what I was reading here. To my dismay Taco Bell was closed except for the drive through and I was on foot with few options. I went in, ordered the shrimp street tacos on the specials board and walked them back to my hotel room. Slamming!! While I can't speak for the rest of the menu, I would eat these every night. Legit fresh street style tacos are (as often as they are found) rarely done right outside of Mexico and Los Angeles IMO. Fresh lime. Cilantro. Chopped onions. Boom. Viva! read more

One dude working who was more interested in talking on the cellphone and to some random chic in a booth. I don't think it's asking too much to keep my drink refilled and getting it right. My friend asked for more sweet tea. What she got was a coke with a lemon in it. Really dude? As far as food goes, the flavor was spot on. Chips fresh and salsa just spicy enough. Wife & I are on a back roads cross country trip from California to Georgia. After booking into a local motel, we noticed Los Pinos. California of course has Mexican food on every block, so we prepared ourselves for average. I have to say that my Carnitas was excellent! One of the best I have had! Wife agreed.
