I was craving real Mexican food so visited Los Pinos Mexican resturant. Outside in their dog friendly patio area, which was beautiful and very relaxing. My table was right by a fountain A waterfall and outdoor fireplace such a perfect atmosphere. I was craving tacos which I really love ( Which I really love), So I ordered the crispy taco plate with rice and beans along with a Margarita. Everything was delicious. The tacos were crispy and flavourful with plenty of cheese, The rice and beans were exactly how I liked them. The Margarita was great too. Los Pino's has become one of my favorite restaurants because it's convenient, the food is consistently delicious, and the outdoor settings makes me the experience even better. I couldn't be happier with my visit. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a really good Mexican place to eat. Parking easy no problems handicap all the the above very quaint and a great outdoor patio. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Ok so I was about to order from this place then when I placed my order over the phone and he said $30.30 for ONLY FIVE TACOS!! I'm like no-I'm good cancel the order! I ended up ordering 4 tacos from Maudie's for $16! I can't imagine tacos costing $6 each! Gtfoh!!! Won't be giving you my order or my money! This is the closest Mexican food restaurant to our house. It gets picked a lot. They've got some things going for them, and some things that make you wonder if driving a little further would be worth it. The good: They do have tasty chips and a capable hot sauce. The queso isn't super exciting. I've been enjoying the burrito. It's not huge by sight, but when you've finished it, it's not small. I get it with beef fajita. It comes with beans (I like their charro), rice, sour cream, pico, and a little lettuce. Kind of like a fajita plate with the meat already in a tortilla. Get it smothered in chili con carne. We like their beef, chicken, and al pastor fajitas. The fajita orders are typically sufficient servings, unlike you might get at Maudie's. Their enchiladas are acceptably pedestrian. The margaritas aren't too sweet and are just strong enough. The servers are pleasant and prompt. When their tortillas are good, they're really good and the carne guisada is pretty textbook. The bad: Sometimes they're packed and quite often they're empty. I worry what that means for the turn over of food. The mediocre: They are wildly inconsistent. Last time we went was their best execution of our recent trips. Sometimes the food is flat out bland. It's not the greatest Tex Mex in Travis Co, but it's a lonely game on the far west side of town if you don't want to eat at Lupe Tortilla or Maudie's, or tally up the bill at Fresa's. read more

The caldo de res tastes on point but the beef that was used in there was left in big chunks and didn't seem to have been simmered in the soup. Best Spanish rice in town. The food was not all that. We had a carne asada plate a couple al pastor tacos. The meat on my asada plate was tough and chewy. The rice and beans were good. The al pastor were too salty and just didn't quite make it to good. It was nice they were garnished with pineapple, that appealed to me. Space was tight but ok sine we had missed the lunch crowd. I started coming here when I moved to Bee Cave in 2016, but I keep returning even though I now live in Austin. Most of the time I just order an appetizer because frankly, I really love a good plate of nachos. A hidden gem, truly a great dining experience. The food is phenomenal and authentic. They offer a variety of appetizers and there's a decent drink selection as well. First this not the former Los Pinos that had been in this location New owners , working on a refresh to the decor and a very deep menu. Not noisy at all My wife and I had dinner tonight, this was our third trip. I had a small ceviche which was great. Talapia had been marinating all day and was very good. Nice chunks of fish with diced tomatoes and a few peppers. Served on a bed of lettuce with a couple fried corn tortillas. Main course was a taco el pastore. Very tasty with diced pineapple and nice chunks of pork. Wife had fish tacos with a side of veggies. Large portion seasoned just right and not overdone. My daughter and I tried Los Pinos for the first time yesterday morning. I was motivated by their instagram post which showed what appears to be a delicious plate of enchiladas. Fast forward, we arrived at the restaurant and once inside it seemed closed and not an inviting vibe. Against my better judgement, I decided to go in and was told to sit anywhere. We sat in one of the far rooms as the only table other than three men talking at their table. We waited for a few minutes and finally the server came over to ask us if we were ready to order we told him We would like our drinks first. He returned and gave him our order. My daughter ordered the chorizo/egg plate and I ordered the menudo. After sometime, our food came out. While my menudo was hot to the touch. My daughter's plate was luke warm. Being the only table in the restaurant, I think it would be reasonable to make sure the food was hot. We didn't see our server and he initially did not check on us. I had to get up and ask him for some salsa for my daughter's plate. I found him in the server station watching his soccer game. Which apparently was more important than providing service to us. I returned to the table only to need a refill of my soda. After waiting to see him check on us, he finally came by and asked for a refill. He brought the wrong soda that I had ordered as a refill. I mentioned to him that the menudo was mostly broth and had little to no hominy or meat. He checked with the kitchen and told me that it was a new guy and he cut the meat wrong. While I knew this was not going to be addressed correctly, I didn't pursue my frustration. We finished quickly at that point and waited for him to return with our check. He didn't return. We decided to get up and go to the register to pay. Yes, that's correct he was on his phone watching some game. We paid and left dissatisfied and probably won't be coming back. To the owners, have background music on to provide a positive vibe. More importantly, guests should not hear other guests conversation and a little background music will help with that. It was that quiet in the dining room. Train your staff to providing a warm welcome to someone who is willing to spend their money at your establishment. Train your serving staff to understand the guest and their needs. It seems as though it really didn't matter that my comment to him about my dish mattered. Paying $14 for just broth is not a value to return for. Teach your serving staff to pay attention especially when guests are seated in their section. Why should I have to get up and ask for something? I can do that in my own home. One positive note to mention is that the restaurant was clean and you did get that importance piece correct. Overall, the experience was not a good one and hope that some changes will happen. read more

My biggest complaint is the wait time. My wife and I ordered two plates between the two of us, and the food took about 40 minutes to arrive. The food was...alright. My tamales were ok but I wouldn't say $15-ok. Similarly, my wife said her fajitas were not bad, but not $18-not bad. Also their coupons are rather misleading. I'm used to restaurants printing their coupon restrictions on the coupon itself. But they apparently put the fine print on another corner of their ad page. They're free to design their ad pages however they like. But people aren't going to bring the entire page. They're only going to bring the snipped coupon. Came in Saturday morning for breakfast tacos. I got bacon, egg, and chorizo. I was very excited about these because I've been here multiple times and the tacos were incredible. I've even referred people to this place just for the tacos. However, on Saturday they were hands down the worst tacos I've ever had. They were incredibly greasy from the chorizo. I've been here 3 times. Twice for lunch during the week and once for breakfast on the weekend. The restaurant is small and simple but feels welcoming. Each time I've received good service and have enjoyed my food. The restaurant also appeared clean which is something I'm pretty particular about.
