The service was excellent the food was good but the one thing I did not like was a lot of leaves on the bench I was sitting on. Frankly I found it to be a problem because there was flies where there was food left by the previous person that sat there. This is the reason why I'm giving 4 stars I order the Margarita the nachos and also the sour cream enchilada chicken which is my very favorite but how could I get into my food if there's food with flies right on the same bench I'm sitting on. Marty's need to be mindful of cleaning up after diners. So here's my gripe I will give them more chances of course because this is one of my best restaurants that I really like to eat besides several other Mexican restaurants that are my favorites in the area but frankly the manager should be aware that cleanup is important. I also want to stress that the fact that I made the effort to try to brush off all the leaves that were on the bench. Let that be known but my dish was delicious the nachos were flavorable except I didn't realize they put nachos with a bunch of big huge jalapenos I'm not used to that. So here is my review and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Nachos Compuesto $12.00 NACHOS COMPUESTOS Taco beef, beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo.

Our service was excellent, and the food was really good! We got nachos Compuestos and a frozen margarita each. Like any restaurant you get your favorites some things are great. Some things aren't but we really loved this one so we're giving a good rating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoy the smarties here in the hill country.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]As outside seating and inside seating or you can sit by the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We love the breakfast here the eggs are fresh, local eggs, bright orange, and not greasy. The frozen margaritas are always good, a fun refreshing summer drink.

Parking is great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon walking in, there was an odor (not good).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted quickly and seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were put right next to the restrooms, which isn't the best, but not horrible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We looked over the menu, and ordered. They provide chips and salsa, so we had something to snack on while we waited. Our food came out and the cheese in the quesadillas is a bit different, almost queso like. I got the nachos, and they were okay. The meat wasn't distributed evenly, and the toppings were coated all over specific chips. They offer swirl margaritas. But they just do puree with the house mix on top, they don't swirl it. Staff was on top of taking care of us, reason for a 3 star! Probably won't come back for a bit.

I've been coming to Maudies for a long long time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ordered chicken fajita tacos which I love and there were served on the grossest plate I've ever seen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it was dirty all around the edges .. showed it to the server who blew it off making an excuse that sometimes the plates get burnt on edges. What???? Weak excuse and made the meal unappetizing. At the end of service he offered to throw the plate out?? But it was ok to serve me my meal on?? I still tipped but he should have offered a different plate or a comp or something .., sorry Maudie's but you can do better!!! **** Postscript: I wrote an email and attached photos to the Director of Operations at the email he requested. It is listed as an invalid email address. I'm done!

I have not dined at this Maudie's Tex-Mex location in a while but [[HIGHLIGHT]]still has that great Mexican atmosphere and appealing menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the #2 Grandma's Special w/ chicken and was very good. It was two crispy tacos with guacamole salad. The chicken was delicious and very tasty. It felt basic but being a lunch item was good enough for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also cold inside but they have covered outdoor seating and a small bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a popular spot and being lunchtime in the middle of the week was packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We arrived super hungry at lunchtime Sunday and were greeted and seated quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat inside, but still had a beautiful view of the hill country.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is also a serene patio with a fountain and beautiful plants to look at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with queso, which was delicious and warm and hit the spot with their perfectly crispy tortilla chips. I tried the beef fajita enchiladas, and they were delicious with enough of a portion to take leftovers for later.

Maudie's is GOOD, as in during our first visit we were already discussing when we could come back. I enjoyed the Poblano Crema Enchiladas for varieties' sake, but will order something else next time. The Rice and Beans were both about as good as those sides can be! We had service both good and friendly, too.

Great service and I loved the crispy beef taco along with the spicy salsa. Yum! I ordered the Regular Plate.

I've always liked Maudie's, free chips and salsa and their salsa is really good. The food always comes out quick and the price is good. I always get the skinny Sheryl but this time I tried something different and I like it. I got the CARNE GUISADA, which is great. They have staff are always sweet and the servers are good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very kid friendly, it's a family restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I always come here for lunch for a quick bit to eat. I would recommend people to come here.

We have lived in the Hill Country for a long time and never went to Maudies because the reviews are pretty scary. We decided to give it a shot today looking for some good Mexican food, nothing fancy just tacos, chips & salsa, margaritas and maybe a good tortilla soup. Maudie's was exactly that! It was fast, it was good, the server was very friendly and seemed to know quite a few of the other patrons and was telling them he'd see them next week. It's nice seeing regulars at a restaurant- you don't find that often anymore. We decided this will be our go to for a fast, no frills, good Mexican meal. It's so much better than all the Mexican restaurants in Dripping Springs.

Skinny Sheryl with zucchini all day
    Dawn S.

I met a girlfriend here for lunch. It was after the "lunch rush"- around 1:00, so we didn't have trouble getting a table. Our waiter was friendly. Chips and salsa were solid. I ordered a Skinny Sheryl (lunch special) with all zucchini and no rice. While we were waiting, I accidentally dropped my fork. Within a few minutes, a new setting was brought over...by a random waitstaff...not even our waiter. My friend loves her Diet Coke and while she was 1/2 through with drink number one, they brought her a second one! Thanks for the great service today! My food was yummy. Plates and zucchini were piping hot! PS does anyone know who Sheryl is?? ;)

This is a great weekend brunch option. Good hot sauce, terrific breakfast options including pancakes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location has a cute patio and is so close to shopping at the Hill Country Galleria.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had cheese enchiladas (served super warm and melty) and a couple fish taco which tasted very fresh. This is queso at its best and a family favorite!

Mmmmmmmmmaudies! This place never lets me down.

Each lady paid for an appetizer. The appetizers were all very good though I would say there are limited gluten free options. The girls shared the Tempura Cauliflower. It looked really good and apparently was also delicious but unfortunately not gluten free. The Charcuterie Board with cheese, salami, pepperoni, and smoked salmon was yummy, as were the brussel sprouts and chicken kabobs. The server said the marinade was not gluten free but I decided to eat it anyways. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well. I really liked the brussel sprouts too. The Dirty Martinis and Paper Plane were great. My friend had the Cucumber cocktail but opted for soda water instead of Sprite and she said it was really good. It looked pretty. The restaurant offers a nice vibe for hanging out and has a great selection of cocktails, wines, and food. I didn't get a chance to try an entree but I'm sure they are good. The flavors were bold and different in the best way. Now let's talk about the chicken wings -- because as many of you know, I'm very particular about my wings. These did not disappoint. They weren't overly spicy, which I appreciated, but they had a perfect balance of chili powder and paprika that gave them a delicious depth of flavor. Apparently they use a rotisserie chicken that's stripped by a machine - then they just grab a handful of whatever comes out and throw it on the salad. For the cooks it's easy to remember - if it's slathered in sauce use dark meat, otherwise use breast meat. Service was attentive and the outside patio was nice.

I got the idea that Jason should have his own signature cocktail. I had the perfect name for it and a list of drinks he likes, but I'm no mixologist, so I needed help to pull this off. Sonya McKinney, the manager replied to my request saying she was all in. And boy was she! From her creative expertise, the "Liberty Risk" cocktail was born. Jason is a retired Navy fighter pilot with an ornery streak a mile wide. Whenever the aircraft carrier came into port, the crew was at liberty to enjoy time in town, unless of course, they'd done a mischief and found themselves on liberty risk, and thus restricted to the ship. Jason wasn't completely unfamiliar with liberty risk. "Liberty Risk" became the name of his boat, his most prized possession, making it also the perfect name for his signature cocktail. Sonya didn't just create an awesome cocktail, she hung a professionally made banner above the bar introducing the drink, wrote and laminated the backstory of the drink, and bought a special Navy veteran glass in which to present the drink, complete with real Navy wings that she attached to a golden cocktail skewer to garnish the drink! She also arranged for the musician who was playing that night to lead the whole bar in singing Happy Birthday to him. Thanks to Sonya, the whole experience was unparalleled and it's a special memory Jason and I will always cherish.
