The restaurant is top to bottom all in on the theme. The chips and salsa, which are normally one of my favorite things to look forward to were okay at best. I got birria tacos and they were really disappointing. They lacked a lot of flavor that you expect. My wife got the asada tacos and when they brought them out to her they called the carnitas. When we asked if they were asada to clarify, the server said "sure". They were alright too. Overall, I wasn't impressed. There are a lot more options around which are so much better. read more

My go to Mexican restaurant on the west side. I recommend any of the tacos. Folks are friendly and the food comes out hot and fresh all the time. The inside is very warm and reminds one of the real Mexico! If you like Beer they have Dos Equis on tap and it is so refreshing with the spicy Mexican food. Great Margaritas too! I so wanted to like this place, but... The best part here are the margaritas. Those are great. Alas the food is basically meh. Not much flavor, just rather bland altogether. I tried a Toastaguac with beef and a chicken quesadilla. I would not order/eat either of those again. My guest ordered the #20 and was equally disappointed. The service was pretty much non-existent , so this made for an overall mediocre at best experience. Don't think we'll be back. read more

This restaurant was very unprofessional. I ordered a burrito that did not state it had beans in it in the description so when I asked for them to remake it the server took the plate and aggressively through it into the kitchen. Very unprofessional. read more

Saw a post about this place and it claimed to have Birria tacos but fyi they DO NOT! The service was great and the food was okay. I got the arroz con pollo and boyfriend got the burritos. The best part was the 22$ strawberry frozen margaritas and the nachos with shredded chicken. Very flavorful. Be careful because these plates are HOT! Over all good. Best Mexican in town. Don't even mess with LaHa, these guys have them beat hands down. The only thing I would like to see is a mild and hot salsa option. I love it, but it is too spicy for my wife. I typically end up getting an order of guacamole so she has something to dip her chips in, which is also awesome. read more

Really good food and wonderful service. My friends are regulars and they are very careful about ensuring meat doesn't end up in their order (they are vegans and vegetarians). I ordered cheese enchiladas and their green and red sauces are both very flavorful. Despite being packed, we were seated promptly. This is a good generic Mexican restaurant in Avon. They have a lot of authentic dishes (whole fried mojarra) that you don't normally see at American Mexican restaurants. Margaritas are tasty of course and there's a decent Mexican beer selection. There's no "bar" to speak of as you can tell that there used to be a bar area, but it has been converted into regular seating. read more

Not only did our food take way too long to arrive but once it did it was very bland & did't taste that good at all. Had the chicken chimichanga lunch special. Perfect size and packed with chicken. The accompanying guacamole, lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the refried beans were just right, yummy! Very good salsa! A little kick to it and not overpowered with cilantro, just as I like it. It was a to go order and was ready for pickup as stated. Very friendly service from the gentleman at the register. The decor and ambiance, even just at the door, was colorful and inviting. Nice place, one I'll go to again. read more

We are new to the area and on the hunt for a good Mexican restaurant. We found several that are just ok. I am a chip snob, back home in Detroit we eat at a place that takes the chips from the grease, sprinkles salt and delivers. They are always too hot to eat but you can't help but dig in....so my standards are HIGH..... I will say that Los Rancheros is the closest I have come to getting a good chip, they are warm, not stale and in Indiana that is good enough and their salsa is TOP NOTCH, very fresh and well balanced with just enough cilantro, and onion. Very nice. I ordered the choriqueso, and two carne asada tacos. My husband had the Speedy Gonzales lunch special..... The steak in the tacos was PERFECTION, there wasn't one piece of fat in these tacos which scores high in my book, sealed the deal on the best tacos I have had here in Indiana. My husband also agreed that his dish was very good and we should return. So why 4 stars instead of 5?........ They delivered the Choriqueso with the meal and not with the chips...who wants to eat the cheese dip with their meal and not while eating the chips? The server asked me if I wanted a refill on my drink after I had finished my meal, it would have been nice to have had one half way through....so there is some fine tuning that would give them a solid 5 and that all depends on the service. We were very impressed by the food, and it will now be our go to for our Mexican food fix...... maybe they will start frying and delivering their chips fresh, that would be a game changer for their restaurant. read more

I've been here a few times and it's really just OK for me. The most recent time I went was around Cinco de Mayo, and I'm not sure if that's why there was a line out the door. The hostess kept telling every single party that came in, no matter how large or small the group, "Five minutes". We waited about 20-30 min, which is fine but I would've expected a more realistic time estimate. The service has always been excellent - even when they were really busy our waitress has always refilled chips/drinks before we even had to ask. The food though is just average, compared to other Mexican restaurants in my opinion. I would come back, but I prefer El Rodeo which is just down the road. read more

My addiction to Mexican food may be out of hand and this place is my absolute favorite! I have been going here for years and always have great experiences. The staff is top-notch and always remembers me and strikes up conversations. The chips and salsa are awesome, and so is everything that I have ever tried here. I usually get one of the dinner combinations. They also make great margaritas -- especially the sangria margarita. The prices are typical of what I've seen at most Mexican restaurants. I've been to all of the Mexican restaurants in the area and this place wins by a landslide. The only thing that could possibly make this place better would be outdoor seating to enjoy my margaritas, but everything else is so good that I can live without that. read more

A nice surprise. Very fresh tortilla chips with a thin and mild salsa with some chunks of tomato, onion, pepper and cilantro. I made generous use of red and green habanero sauces to get the heat level up to my liking. The menu favors more Mex items than at other nearby restaurants. I chose the Enchiladas Suezas - 4 Chihuahua cheese (no rat dogs were harmed) stuffed enchiladas topped with your choice of red or green chile sauce or "Christmas style" if you'd like both. Then, chunks of slow cooked, tender pork roast full of yummy fatty "porkaliciousness." This is a change from the more usual chicken and cheese stuffing for this dish The mild cheese is so much better than cheddar or jack and melds with the porky chunks all oozing together with the refried beans. I'm looking forward to one of my favorites, next time: roasted stuffed Pablanos, dipped in egg batter and fried until crunchy. They offer them as cheese only or cheese and beef. These are REAL Chile Relleno unlike the plates of goo served at some other Avon Tex-Mex joints. The only place that served them was Cazuella's until they went down-hill and out of business. I've learned to ask how places prepare their Chile Relleno to avoid being disappointed. Their first chance was a good one. I'll post more follow-ups. read more

Unfortunately, I have to move my rating down to 3 stars. The quality of the food has really dropped off in the last 6 months or so. The service is no longer excellent, just good. So still a solid bet for decent Mexican-American food, but no longer stands out from the crowd. Which is sad. read more

Wife told me to give the restaurant four stars. I disagree but will not go with her rating. She loves the margaritas and fajitas. She is a big fan of the margaritas because they actually have alcohol in them. The menus are usually dirty with old food and the glasses smell like they are old and look dirty. As a very close and frequent local, I was disappointed when we walked in the door and the first thing the host said was... we close in 10 minutes. I asked if the kitchen was closer, he said yes. I'm not sure I've given many one star ratings, but when you are almost charged double and have to have your bill calculated 3 times before its correct? We have an issue. I had the shrimp chimi- and these were the smallest chimichangas I have had anywhere in Danville, Plainfield or Avon area. The shrimp is diced or minced and they were overcooked. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Avon. Since moving here I was on the quest for the best tacos de carne asada that I could find for this area. This is it. I prefer the soft corn tortillas over the soft flour at this location but soft corn is what is served in Mexico so that is more authentic anyway. Tomatillo sauce/pico de gallo to go with it is great. The chips are always warm here. The food is consistently a hot temperature. They have great margaritas. The salsa tastes good but like most places is a bit weak to cater to the masses. Have no fear though. Green habanero sauce from table mixed in makes it much better. Service is very friendly and pretty fast. The place seems clean as well. read more

The food was delicious! All of the family ordered the #3 on the lunch menu which was an ordinary enchilada with outstanding rice and refried beans! The food was really quick when we ordered. Waiter was nice and quick when we needed a drink refill. The water was FREE!! I definatly recommend this place for all ages. Also if you want a good filling meal to last you until dinner! read more

Went there last night and the place was not busy. This was our 3rd and final visit to this restaurant. The food was decent, but $6.50 for a small cheese dip is ridiculous. They brought out 2 of the 3 meals at a reasonable time, and the 3rd arrived 7 minutes later. The service was poor to say the least, and the staff was more concerned with laughing with each other than taking care of the few diners in the restaurant. They never did bring the check, but the gentleman at the register finally got it from the server. The one positive is that they do have good salsa, but good luck getting more of it. read more

We went here on a date. We sat out on the patio, which was lovely. We were served chips with a tasty salsa, immediately. Our server was okay, and the rest of the staff was okay as well. I ordered a margarita, which was huge and yummy. My husband ordered the Texas fajitas, which he really enjoyed. I ordered the Cozumel salad. It had shrimp, avocados, tomatoes, oranges and limes on a bed of iceberg lettuce. I ended up using the salsa for dressing, not sure what I was supposed to do. I did enjoy this salad, but it could have been much better. First off, most of the avocado slices had bad spots. It would have been better on a bed of mixed greens, and the tomatoes were plasticy. read more
