I've come here many times over the years. For the longest time, they were the only Mexican restaurant in town. Their service has continued to get worse and worse. For better service, go to the other place in town. For a better margarita, come here. The other place does not put any liquor in their drinks. I'm new to the area, and was trying to find dinner one night. We decided to eat at El Jaripeo but were very uneasy at first. The location of the restaurant and the building were very old so we weren't sure what to expect. But when we walked inside it was very nice and clean. The pictures that have been posted from others were not accurate at all. It was super packed, but we were able to be seated right away. Chips and salsa were good, and our waiter was super nice. Food was also delicious!!! However, the wait time was a bit longer than expected, but it was also a Friday night and they were packed. We will be returning in the future!! Waiter got our order wrong. Barely spoke English. Way too expensive for really crappy food. It sucked and we'll never return.

It's my second time here, came with family. When the waiter asked us the first time if we are ready to order, some of us haven't decided yet, so we told him we need more time. 30 minutes later, he finally came back to take our orders. He is not attentive either, we had to ask for more water. The service can be improved. I had shrimp fajita, it's yummy! But the vegetables were little bit burned. The fajita comes with 3 tortillas. I didn't eat the rice and bean that comes with it, so I don't know does it taste good or not. read more

This review is for take out only. I have never actually sat in the restaurant and had a meal (okay, maybe once, but it was years ago). This is pretty decent Midwest Mexican food. Nothing more. I have worked in Lebanon for the past five years, and have ordered take out from this place probably 20 times. It is consistent, pretty good and the people I've always dealt with have been nothing but nice. The food is not going to blow you away. I usually get a lunch special that consists of a taco, chile relleno and rice and beans. It's good, but not great. The best part is that if you catch the right lunch special, you can eat a decent Mexican lunch for $6, including a 33% tip for a to go order. Seriously, $4.50 for the food, including chips and salsa to go, and a couple bucks for a tip. The food is a solid three stars, the price makes it four. read more

This is a staple for us in Lebanon. Standard Mexican fare that is consistent. Love the nachos carbon but only get it if I have someone to share it with since it's such a bit serving size. We live closer to El Rodeo in Whutestown but the nachos carbon in Lebanon are 1.5 tines bigger! Good Mexican food in a town without a lot of local choices! read more

The service is good, but not great. Their margaritas are pretty tasty. I think it's awesome you can order a 46oz margarita! The food quality never seems the same each time I go. A few times I've ordered the same burrito, it wasn't as good as the last time. The best thing I've had there is the spinach quesadilla. Five stars on that! read more

We will never come back here. The server had an attitude the entire time we were there and seemed super annoyed with us the entire time we were ordering. We ordered nothing complicated at all, yet our food took 20+ minutes to get to our table. 2 of the 3 orders were also wrong. We contemplated walking out a couple times. When we checked on our food (politely), our server basically yelled at us and said "it's coming!" Yeah. Not a good way to treat customers. read more

El Japeriro is a locally owned Mexican restaurant in Lebanon Indiana. Great Tex Mex food and a great selection of items- very reasonably priced. Family members enjoy going here even though it's a bit of drive from our current home. Tucked away inside a small strip mall in Lebanon - we always have a great meal here every time we go. My family and I went here for dinner for the first and last time. It looked busy but not packed. Service started out okay. We had to get our silverware off other table. We found a hair in the queso which was bland as well as the salsa. We waited well over an hour for 6 people and no refills on drinks. At our table, most of the food was okay. The arroz con pollo looked like the lunch portion. Another person at our table got served RAW chicken. Needless to say poor service and low quality food. read more

I love el Jaripeo. Get past the fact that's it's tucked away in a tiny strip mall and accept it for what it is: some of the best hole in the wall style texmex you will find anywhere in the country. I've lived in New York, traveled all over and most Mexican joints that compare never come close to satisfying my thirst for fajitas like el Jaripeo can. The salsa is homemade, good amount of cilantro and a good kick of black pepper. Great queso, chile relleno is spot on, burritos never disappoint and are huge. Also you can get a 34oz dos Equis Amber on draft for like $5.25. Tequila selection is not bad (Don Julio $6/ shot). Staff is always friendly, Angel knows our drink order by heart. If you're on the fence between el Meson and el Jaripeo, el Jalipero is your choice. If you're looking for an affordable, filling, delicious meal in Boone County, el Jaripeo is always a good choice. read more

Love this place. I have been a million times. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and I will be returning as often as my wallet allows. The reason I gave it four stars was because sometimes when they get busy their staff struggles to be attentive to their tables. To be honest though I probably wouldn't do any better if I was in their place. Love it! read more

I think the food taste very good. Normally I only like to eat my homemade refried beans, but their beans are very good! I have not eaten anything that I didn't like; however, the service is not good. They almost make you feel like you are putting them out when you come into the restaurant. We have been there several times and they do not acknowledge your return business and are not very friendly. This is your average mexican fare. it isnt as good as some of the tex mex or authentic mexican places located in Texas or the Southwest. But for Lebanon it is decent and pricing is about average. The establishment allows smoking but it didnt seem to be too smoky the times we went. read more

I'm from Lafayette and this is better than anything in my town. $1 Margaritas on Monday can't be beat! Burrito Loco is AMAZING and I can never finish it! I have never been really disappointed and have probably eaten here over 50 times. I've been at least once on every day of the week, but usually stick with Mondays. Margaritas and the small bar are the highlights. If you want better, fresher food go to El Meson down the street.
