They have a spacious dining room, it looks like it used to be a Chinese buffet or something. I went there for a Sunday lunch, and was seated immediately. From the reviews I knew they had good seafood dishes but I had to get something real quick so I decided to just get tacos. I was so disappointed because they were out of Al Pastor, and then I said Suadero but they were out of them also. I personally think servers should always let customers know in the beginning if there's anything they don't have that day. So I settled for chicken tacos and steak tacos which were just okay. I probably won't come here for the tacos again but I am still interested in trying seafood here in the future. read more

Three stars because always really great service. However, the sea food bowl which is the highest price one I think $32 looks pretty good in portion appearance of shrimp and mussels but in the bottom it was completely filled with an abundance of imitated crab meat. Which I really don't like or feel anyone should be eating because it is not healthy. If you feel the same, ask to substitute it. Margaritas and drinks always good too and good price. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and boy-howdy, I'm glad that I finally got to dine here. I was craving some shrimp, the restaurant specializes in Mexican seafood so they had an entire section of shrimp dishes. They also offer many traditional Mexican dishes so if you're not in the mood for seafood you'll easily find something apprtizing. I opted for the Chipotle Shrimp (Camarón Chipotle). Instead of chips & salsa, I was presented with a spicy shrimp soup! It was a tasty red broth with a shrimpy taste and little bits of shrimp floating about and an entire prawn at the bottom. Hard shell tortillas and crackers accompanied the appetizer. The soup was thoroughly enjoyable and served as a nice hint for what was to come in my main dish. The Chipotle Shrimp arrived and you have to see the photo I posted as proof that they care as much about presentation as they do about preparation. It was presented in a colorful array on a rectangular dish that you'd expect to see at an upscale gourmet eatery. The sights, smells and the tastes were all part of a sensory indulgence - everything was amazing. There were about a dozen medium sized shrimp cooked perfectly in a spicy chipotle sauce. The dish came with rice, fresh avocado, onions, tomatoes and cucumber slices. I tried eating the items on the crispy tortillas and right off the fork, every bite was joyous. My choice for a beverage went well with my meal - Dos Equis Amber. I will be back soon to try other dishes and to have the Chipotle Shrimp again, I know I'll be craving it again soon. read more

We stopped by here from a recommendation. The food was fantastic! I had a chicken quesadilla and the flavor of the chicken was fantastic, the quesadilla was crisp and hot. Sooooo, Costa Brava was....weird. The food was really good. Only half the lights were on in the restaurant. There was a child in the kitchen (like a 5 or 6 year old). Like I said, the food was really good, so that kid definitely has a future in the culinary arts. We sat there waiting for our bill or really for any indication that the server/host knew we were still sitting there (we were the only customers in the entire place). Finally we asked about the bill and he said "Oh, you pay at the counter". Ok, so just whenever we're ready we get up and walk out assuming someone will stop us at the counter?! Super weird place. My family and I enjoy seafood and this our go-to spot. EVERYTHING on the menu is worth getting. We've never had to send anything back because everything has a fresh taste . That's the most important thing to us , the fresh seafood! I usually get shrimp and my shrimp are always cooked perfectly. The Micheladas are super good too. So we found this place with the Discover in the book, thought we would give it a try. Upon rolling up there was little to no curb appeal. We almost drove away. Then we go inside and it's even more depressing of an interior. It's very spacious and large, lots of room for them to have parties etc. We ordered three different things everything was just OK. The salsa I kid you not was Kroger salsa, it was definitely something that they bought at the store and just put on the table. I don't know about you but that's one of the things that I always look forward to at Mexican restaurants is trying their salsa, even some places that I go to regularly there's also taste different every time I go in there. But this salsa literally was awful and store-bought. This is a nice clean location. Doesn't seem like it gets busy. A lot of the food on the menu they no longer make it and our waitress mentioned that the menus are old and some items have been removed. Wish she could have mentioned what wasn't. Anyhow I've been wanting real Costa azul shrimp and shrimp cocktail. My plate of Costa azul was very different than what I'm used to. The shrimp was like a ko but was really good. The salad was hot that I was not to happy about. Shrimp cocktail was hot we had to add ice cubes. Not very pleased. The place is big and clean they had karaoke and sadly not busy. Sadly not going back. This place has potential but they need to get on board with their menu. Fantastico!!! Best Mexican food I've ever had anywhere, including Mexico. They specialize in marisco (seafood) prepared in the traditional Mexican way. The best Mexican food is in....Indianapolis? It's true! Most of the fare is of the seafood variety, of which I am not a fan, but I also had the best steak chimichanga I have had in my life. Do yourself a favor and keep driving... While on a unfamiliar side of town I decided I wanted some good Mexican food. I opened up Apple Maps and this place showed up nearby, I tried to call ahead and order but I guess their phone wasnt working correctly. I decided to stop by and put in an order for Nacho Fajita, they didn't know what that was for some reason but the cook assured me he could make it, I was skeptical about the place to begin with but I continued on since it was fairly simple.. (Onions, Green Peppers, Chips, Steak, Tomatoes and Queso). He made the food and I opened it up and it looked pretty good, it did not come with a side of Salsa and Chips like most Mexican restaurants do and for 14 dollars I thought it should, I was also weary about the 14 dollars because on the menu it said nachos were 9.99 anywho I carried on got home and the food tasted TERRIBLE. The "queso" that was used was very thick and I'm almost 100% sure it was just melted shredded cheese it literally reminded me of the taste of elmers glue. The food here is phenomenal. My first time there I had a shrimp quesadilla, because I thought that was safe for a first try. The server (who I think is also the owner?) brought me a complimentary cup of spicy seafood soup, which I would never have ordered. It was amazing. Spicy, rich, wonderfulness. The shrimp quesadilla was also great. I wish I knew where they get their shrimp--they were fresh and buttery and firm. Good cheese on there and sides of pico de gallo, guac, and sour cream. Very tasty. The sides were all really fresh--if I didn't know better I would say they sliced up the tomatoes and onions while I waited at the table, but it was too quick for that. I was there on a Tuesday, and it was quiet and service was excellent. As another reviewer said, the location is a little scary, but that abandoned mall is becoming more populated with businesses, so its not too abandoned anymore. I will be back asap! Had a coupon for this place so decided to try it out with my boyfriend. When we pulled up there was only one car in the parking lot in front, but the open sign was on, so we went in. There are some nice decorations in the entryway, but then when you look at the rest of the place it's not impressive - the table we sat at was wobbly. When we walked in we noticed half the lights were off, and there was a man, woman & little boy just hanging out at a table that turned out to be the proprietors. There were absolutely no other customers the entire time we were there. There was also a mirror on the wall with duct tape around it. The man came over & seated us & brought us menus. He barely spoke English, which is fine, because we were able to communicate well enough to order - the main menu was half in English, half in Spanish, and he also gave us a smaller English dinner menu which I think were the specials. We both ordered off of that - my boyfriend got the fajitas, I got the fajita salad, both were under $10. We also ordered chips & queso. The water came out with lime instead of lemon, which was a nice touch. The food took quite a while, and he brought out a shrimp soup appetizer with the chips & queso. It was a small cup of spicy soup with one piece of shrimp, which when I bit into it seemed gritty so I didn't eat any more of it. The queso was very good (tho runny), the chips were just okay. Our main dishes were the best part - the flavor was very good! So A+ on the fajitas! Especially considering how cheap they were! Overall not impressed & likely won't go back, however, and they seem to be on their way out with lack of customers. I wouldn't be surprised if they are closed in a few months. read more
