This is my favorite place around to get carnitas tacos. The carnitas are super tender and delicious and not stringy and dry like some places'. They come with pico and guacamole, but my pro-tip life-hack favorite way to get them is with onions and cilantro only, maybe add sliced avocado if I'm feeling fancy that day, and then just squeeze a lime on that baby and dump on some of their avocado (mild-medium green) salsa and boom! You've got an AMAZING blend of juicy, salty, meaty flavor and fresh, crisp, acidity to cut through the fattiness. So good!!! Oh and the breakfast burritos here are solid. Shrimp Diabla burrito was fire! Not cheap, but truly massive and didn't skimp on the shrimp so I think it's a reasonable price. I added guacamole which was also very well made. I have a fast metabolism so I eat a lot of food and eat giant burritos often and I could have easily saved the other half of this (but I didn't because it was so delicious). They have five salsas, which is awesome. Three greens and two reds. The creamy green followed by the hotter red were my favorite, but the brighter green was decent too. I didn't care for the mild red or the normal verde looking one. The diabla sauce on the burrito itself already had a little heat so it was hard to tell if they were spicy or not. The horchata was some premade powder mix corn syrup type and was overly sweet/syrupy. I only took a few sips and dumped it out and got some of the stubborn soda from the fountain instead, I rarely drink anything other than water but the lemon berry acai soda was quite good. The people working were pretty friendly and on top of everything. Younger guy and girl were running the registers and doing food prep. Be sure to leave them a tip, they were hustling back there. All in all I will definitely come back. I'll probably try the breakfast burritos next time, I'm wondering if the potatoes are just potatoes or if they're hashbrowns/tater tots/french fries and if I can add beans to them. I didn't see a vegetarian breakfast burrito (usually eggs, potatoes, cheese, beans, and guacamole at most places), but I'll ask if they can make me one next time. read more

The tacos were delicious. My friend tried the tripa, lengua, and cabeza while I had the carnitas, pollo, and al pastor tacos. All were delicious and I especially liked the side of beans. I also tried three of their hotter salsas. The service was quick and the establishment was clean and inviting. Recently moved to Encinitas from the Bay Area and have struggled to find burritos and tacos as good as they make them in San Jose. We ordered Los Tacos and the first time it was awesome. The second time we placed an order over the phone and picked it up. When we got back to the house we realized they had given me SALMON TACOS when I ordered AL PASTOR and they forgot our rice and beans for one combo. We called to see if we could come get it fixed since we live down the street and they said I had to bring the food back in so I did. The lady who took the food back had an attitude and was different than the lady on the phone. She said that the lady on the phone messed up and even though we confirmed it three times, the birria combo doesn't come with rice and beans. She acted like it wasn't their fault at all and when I asked if I would have to pay for another side after everything we've had to do she got mad at me and raised her voice NO. My boyfriend got an order in store today for a bean, rice, and cheese burrito which is pretty hard to mess up. He got halfway through the burrito with no rice. Thinking it was on the bottom he dug down and they NEVER ADDED RICE. When he went to the front to let them know and see if they could remake it they refused to and the lady caught an attitude. She said because the girl at the front rang it up wrong it's not their fault. LIKE WHAT?! You just admitted it was you guys who made the mistake... However, late today I ordered steak fajitas bowl the lady was rude and told me that they don't have steak... Excellent food! No matter what I end up ordering there, I always enjoy it and the meat is never over-cooked. Their Chipotle sauce is to die for! A quick drop in while in the area. Ordered 1 Al Pastor and 3 Cabeza Tacos. They were street sized... Not much to them really. So...I figured I would be left disappointed and wanting. The Al Pastor taco was a little lackluster...yet the guacamole was buttery smooth and flavorful. The true treat was biting into the cabeza taco. I added green sauce and habanero salsa to them. And Boom. My mouth was budding with flavor sweet bursts of chili fire. While I was left with a slight hunger...I was still satiated with flavor. Terrible customer service! Horrible experience! I took my houseguest to Los Tacos, and he ordered a burrito for himself and a burrito for his wife, who was waiting for her burrito at home. We got home and it turned out they got the order wrong. My guess wife drove all the way back to los tacos told the cashier about the omission. The cashier started to prepare the proper item, and the chef told her "no." So, just be ready if you get an incorrect order from los tacos, be prepared for rejection if you complain. To keep it short and simple, I now have a new favorite burrito. I've had a countless amount of them in my day and it's my favorite food of all time but I've finally found a new favorite. The spicy surf and turf burrito was not only the best burrito I've ever had but it's gotta be one of my favorite general things I've had fast food wise in quite a while. I also tried one of my girlfriend's al pastor tacos (another favorite of mine) and it was also simply amazing. Horchata was nice and perfectly cinnamony (new word) and they have a couple of interesting but very good local soda flavors (don't remember the names, sorry ) that I haven't seen anywhere else and definitely provide a nice variety beverage wise if you're not going with a classic agua fresca. Good salsa variety too and they're all very quality as well. The service was also great, very kind and patient staff. Quick too. As much as I like trying different places to try on my cheat meal days, this place is already calling my name some more... that's a good sign that I've found a gem.
